The St. Regis Atlanta
Ranked #7 of 173 Hotels in Atlanta
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 5 June 2011

The St Regis in Atlanta is beautiful--arguably the nicest in Atlanta. I imagine most of the rooms are similarly well equipped, aside from size, but be sure to clarify what your room will be looking over when you check in. Ours looked directly across to the garage next door. It wasn't a busy weekend at all, and I'm sure there were a lot of better rooms available. As it turned out, it was the most expensive room with a garage view I've ever stayed in. That was just the beginning. We were told to call down ahead for our car whenever we needed it. Twice, it was not there, even with ample notice--and again, the hotel was not busy at all. It was apparent that valet service never got the notices. Twice again, there was no shampoo/conditioner available in the bath in the morning--once we asked for more (they brought a small tube of each to the room) and the next time we simply made do without. There was something wrong with the TV installed--it would pixelate a lot, especially if the weather was bad, which would also knock out the clock radio. Also, we left one morning about 9:30, left the "Clean Room" light on outside, and returned 5 hours to an unmade room, again on a very slow weekend. Turn down service was erratic. After returning from dinner one night about 9:00, the room was the same. Not that it mattered--I don't really care that much about turn-down service, but then turn down service showed up after we had settled in. The hotel hypes their afternoon tea quite a bit, but given how beautiful the place is, the area for the tea service, overlooking the lobby, isn't all that great and the goodies not that.....good--and the cost for a truly marginal tea-for-two? Over $100 with the tip. Overhyped and overvalued.

The St Regis prides itself on its properties, as well it should be because they are beautiful spaces, but service has a long way to go in places like Atlanta before it can begin to compare itself to a place like the Four Seasons, which has always been my preferred hotel group in the past, and given this experience, will continue to be.

Room Tip: Make sure you know what the room overlooks.

Service very understated but quick and professional and warm. Pool was wonderful although crowded. Pool deck staff were amazingly friendly and non-intrusive, making our time at pool very enjoyable. Spa was fantastic...best massages we've had in years. Room was phenomenal, in perfect order, with most comfortable bed, excellent bathroom amenities and extras (such as turn down service and quick response from Butler Service for any questions we had). We would come back in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Shop around!

Excellent in all ways...surprise trip for my wife of 28 years for our anniversary and her birthday!
From the minute we pulled in, Chris and Joseph were warmly welcoming us and each person we met, regardless, exhibited a warmth I have only found in years past at The Cloister and the Ritz...The accommodations, the service, the personnel were beyond expectations and continued until the moment of departure...The room, the spa, the athletic club, the pool and staff there were all superb! A private champagne sabering was fantastic!
Don't change a thing - you have it right! Stick with superior service - it works!
Thank you,
TER

No one paying attention to things like a big stain in the carpet. Sad cause it's a nice hotel.

A stunning property, wonderful service and we will be back.

This was our first St Regis experience and it blew us away. A majestic lobby with a sweeping staircase was only the beginning of a great stay.

Add kid friendly fine dining, wonderful pool very roomy and modern rooms. The St Regis will see us again

Truly a luxurious hotel and resort - the staff are all incredibly attentive and will cater to your ever whim. The pool, jacuzzi, restaurants and spa are all amazing. You simply must try high tea here - an Atlanta institution! The whole place has an Italian/Tuscan feel to it and it simply rises head and shoulders above the other five-star Atlanta hotels. Will return again and again.
