“Not a place to stay on weekends!”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Two couples visiting the city to see sites with one pet. Decided to give this hotel a try since it was convenient to the zoo and aquarium. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The problem arose on Friday night when "college" kids checked in bringing coolers and such inside, The rooms were turned into party central and many people not staying at hotel invaded the parking lot and rooms. Constant loud voices, running, door slamming until 4 in the morning each night, When we approached the front desk gentleman Saturday morning, we were told if we didn't call front desk, they didn't know the activities were going on. So no one watches hall cameras, lot camera and see all the people dancing to car stereos right out the front door? Again on Sunday morning after wading thru the hall trash of beer cans and such, this attendant was even more snobbish and told us we were all college age kids one time and it was obvious this Motel 6 prefers these people every weekend than older couples willing to support the city and restaurants and try to get some sleep at night!

We recently stayed at the Motel 6 for our trip to MomoCon 2014.

Check-in was very slow. For some reason they only had one person on the front desk. It might just be that everyone arrived at once - about 3pm, but we had to wait about 35 minutes in line to check in. The hotel was pretty full, if not completely full, and some people were complaining that they were not getting the rooms they had been promised in their reservations, but management was taking care of that. It was just a problem as people in line were already upset at the wait, and people coming back to complain were seen as 'breaking in line' even though they'd already waited once. It nearly caused a scene if it had not been diffused.

It was a PERFECT location - I found it much easier than actually being IN the con hotels. That's because the parking deck- which was FREE- HUGE bonus points for that - was very close to the elevators and the hotel was small and that made it 100x easier to get multiple costumes and accessories to the room than waiting an hour ore more on a bellhop or elevator.
It was also faster to get to the convention, even walking a short block- than to wait on the elevators and fight the crowds in the convention hotels.

It's a very short walk to Peachtree center- maybe 10 minutes- where there is a food court and shopping.

Our room was extremely clean, and extremely roomy. We had a king room with a small microwave and a fridge/freezer. Everything worked well. The TV got several channels including Cartoon Network and Showtime.

The shower was comfortably hot, to nice and cold - just the way you wanted- with very easy to use faucet/ and tub/shower switch.

This hotel does sit close to Courtland Ave, and also 75, so there is some noise at night with sirens occasionally. I've found that all 3 hotels that I've stayed at in this area are just as loud if there's enough going on, it is an area in the middle of a huge city after all. The curtains black the room out well - there's no real view worth speaking of.

We felt extremely safe. When we checked in I noticed they had video surveillance that they were actively monitoring - it was the parking deck and halls of the hotel. The doors to each level required you to insert a hotel key, otherwise they were locked.

Ice and vending were on each floor, with more vending in the lobby.

The king bed had fairly light covers on it, but it was comfortable. I needed an extra pillow and was given one immediately. The room was not carpeted but had nice flooring that was extremely well cared for and clean, it looked new.

There were no bells or whistles but it was a great price for a very convenient stay. Most hotels in the area charge $20 a day for parking, and the parking decks are very high too. I LOVED that his hotel offered free monitored parking in a little deck that kept me from having to walk a TON with a truckload of stuff.

Room Tip: There are some rooms 'stuck out' on the end. These rooms are a bit nosier. They are lowere...

Clean and comfortable hotel.. Ok its not the Hilton, but at £50 per night you should expect it. The rooms was cleaned daily.

Its close to many of the major attractions such as CNN World of Coca Cola, The Aquarium to name but a few

Close to a vairety of foods (on Peachtree St),

Close to the Marta Station making it easy to get to from the Airport

An additional bonus of free parking and free WiFi .

As a solo traveler I felt safe and secure there

Reception staff were brilliant, nothing seemed to much trouble for them, I will definitely be returning soon

So many bonuses for the relatively small price per night

This hotel has all the potentials to be one of the best alternatives being located amidst the 5star likes of Hilton, Marriott and co. Their price is the only thing that reflects the alternative. Every thing else is completely out of place.
I had a security issue-an attempted break-in which I complained about and mailed the Manager. It was of no use. There rooms though cleaned daily still show dust here and there.
I think this place can be much better than this. Thanks to Mr Ben who convinced me to stay on after I had issues with the wifi in room 222. Had to change rooms the next day rather than checking out because of his being nice. Like I did state earlier it's the "worst alternative".

Bronxreviewer sums it up well, so read his review too. It is a great deal, close to other hotels and downtown, but in a quiet block. Free Internet and free parking (one car) is awesome. Much nicer looking than a typical Motel 6 due to recent renovations. That said, it still is a motel 6 - bed wasn't great, no breakfast, etc. But for less than 1/2 the price of other hotels nearby, I got a great deal. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Enterprise has an office next door and other car rental places are just down the street. Also, ask for a room facing away from the highway if you can. Not sure if the noise is a problem, but I wasn't taking chances.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from highway.

Management at this hotel on 1/28/14 and 1/29/14 would not allow stranded motorists to warm up in their parking lot, even though the city was in a declared State of Emergency, and the motorists had been stranded for over 11 hours in below-freezing weather. When asked via telephone to please allow the motorists to use the parking lot, the manager or owner yelled that it was private property and hung up.

I stayed here because I had no choice- everything was booked. It's still in walkable distance to many things, like the AmericasMart buildings I was visiting.

The lobby was being renovated, which was no big deal. The elevator is old and worn, as is most of the building. Right across from my room was a room with at least 2 barking dogs, but they eventually quieted down.

The room was standard non-upgraded 70's or 80's motel. The bathroom fixtures were loose. Decent place to sleep, but they, like the other hotels in the area, jacked up prices for the event. Unlike previous hotels I had stayed in, there was no fridge or microwave.

The front desk staff was very busy but also very friendly. This would be a stopover on a highway going somewhere, but definitely overpriced for what it is.
