“A cut above the standard Courtyard”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

We (my wife, young adult daughter and I) stayed at the Courtyard last weekend, visiting family for Easter.

The room was quite large and worked for three adults in it - although see below for a few space issues. The room looked like it had recently been refurbished and was nicely done. The wardrobe was on the small side, especially with a fairly large refridgerator inside it - although it was was good to have the fridge. The safe was so low that you needed to go on your hands and knees to use it. And, we agreed with the comment someone else made that the TV placement was strange, as was the desk placement, since the chair blocked the way around the bed if someone was at the desk.

We've noticed lately that many hotels - including Marriotts - are now providing duvets rather than sheets and blankets. We don't get that. Somehow they are always too warm, but kicking them off means too cold. That's not an issue just for this property but the duvets here seemed particularly heavy. And the bottom sheets seemed a little too small and kept slipping off.

For the most part, the service was excellent and very friendly. But, housekeeping fell down. Both days, it took calls down to reception to get the rooms cleaned as the housekeepers hadn't been by even in mid-afternoon. And, then, they didn't replenish supplies - TP, glasses, etc. It was especially frustrating to get back after a busy day and then have to leave the room for it to be made up since that hadn't happened yet.

Very good location.

I stayed last weekend with my husband and teenage son. We were in town visiting family and to see a Braves game. I read a previous post that said you could walk to Turner Field from this hotel. However, it is not close enough to walk and I would not feel safe walking through some of the areas late at night, so we drove. The hotel itself is in a good location, close to Marta and many restaurants. It is clean and comfortable, however, there are are some misses in their design of the hotel. First thing you'll notice when walking in the room is the TV is on the wall surrounded by the curtains. It's functional but the placement is odd. There is no closet but a small wardrobe which also houses a small refrigerator. It's a fine idea but the wardrobe is so small and the rack to hang clothes so low it's difficult to find space to hang anything up. The bathroom is attractive with a modern look. However, the zero entry shower with only a shower curtain lends itself to a big watery mess in the whole bathroom. When my son finished showering, the entire bathroom was wet so be careful not to slip! Lastly, the room is not carpeted but has a faux wood floor. When you sit up in bed to watch TV or read, the bed starts sliding away from the headboard. Overall, a fine hotel but it could be improved upon.

This is a newer property located right off Peachtree downtown. The room was on the small side but very clean and well appointed. Check-in and out was very quick and professional. All the staff I came in contact with were super friendly. I was only there for one night. Would definitely return for another stay. One item of notice, the heating/AC vent was located on top of the entry way to the bathroom directly facing the bed. When the AC kicked in, it blows directly on your bed and face so that's a design flaw that can't be fixed. Not sure if that's happening in all of the rooms but it was in mine. That was the only negative.

Room Tip: One item of notice, the heating/AC vent was located on top of the entry way to the bathroom directly...

We stayed here for two nights and were very impressed with the room and the employees. Despite the construction mess going on downtown and the marathon this hotel was very convenient and right next door to a MARTA station. Stuart was very helpful and if you have a chance to stay on the 12th floor please do it. For those who complain about the parking price remember you aren't staying in the suburbs where parking is plentiful because of a strip parking lot and open spaces!

Room Tip: We had a corner room which seemed larger than other rooms.

Would recommend the hotel for its good proximity to key attractions and it's general convenience. Rooms were well taken care of and restaurant was pretty good. My son actually left his phone there... We called the next day... They had it and held it until we returned 4 days later. Would stay there again.

This hotel was somewhat difficult to get to because of construction, traffic, and general location. Parking is also a bit of a challenge. We chose valet since we wouldn't need the car until check out. From the time we pulled up curb side to the time they brought the car back, the staff at this hotel was simply impressive. It is rare to see such a consistent experience across everyone you encounter regardless of their role. We interacted with a couple valets, several desk folks, employees at the hotel Starbucks, and bartenders/waitresses at the Bistro. To the person they were engaging, super friendly, and fully embracing the service mentality. I wish I could name names but if they worked on March 22 or 23, 2014, thank you for a great hotel experience and very nice job. From the young man at the desk who repeatedly said "My pleasure" to the guy at Starbucks who made my daughter something "not on the menu", we were quite impressed. Someone here knows how to hire and train.

My stay at the Courtyard was very nice and the room was incredible once inside the hotel. Building from the outside looked a little worn but once inside whole different story. Parking is 25.00 a day for Valet and I was able to use the parking deck across the street for my entire stay for 30.00 total. The room was pleasant and the temp was adjustable. NO TUBS but an incredible shower with plenty of hot water. There was FREE WIFI, which is a must. I had a queen suite and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was about 6 blocks to and from the start/finish line of the marathon. Would stay again without hesitation.
