We were at the Hilton for the National Quiz Bowl Tournament. Our registration was easy, as was the checkout. The staff was consistently cheerful and helpful. The rooms were not ostentatious, but were comfortable and well appointed. All in all, the stay was fun.

Excellent Staff and Accommodations. Very convenient especially because of the access to the Downtown Skybridge. An excellent bar downstairs and the executive lounge had a good variety for both breakfast and dinner.

We have stayed here before and will stay here again. There were some minor cleaning issues but over all a nice place to stay. There was hair on the bathroom floor and the corners were dirty. Since we were only there one night we did not report it.

I go to Atlanta periodically on business usually at least once a quarter. I've never stayed at this Hotel before. I can't say it's the most luxurious Hilton you are going to stay at. Yes, it could use a little updating, but I have to say the staff was friendly and attentive. Also, the room was clean and the high speed internet service worked fine. I also thought the bed was comfy and I was able to get a good night's sleep. Now for the good part. My colleague and I had a long day and we didn't really want to leave the hotel for dinner so we decided on trying their restaurant in the lower level called Trader Vic's. What a great restaurant. When you enter it you feel like you are entering a little oasis in the desert. It's a Polynesian restaurant and we tried a couple of great rum drinks at the bar. Then we sat down to dinner and we shared a rack of lamb and their seafood wok special. The food was great and the service was even better. We had a couple of more drinks and the banana foster for dessert and we were good to go. And the best part is we could just take the high speed elevator back to our rooms. So, I would say if you want a pretty nice hotel that has a great restaurant that offers a really unique experience. Check it out. Or at least just try the restaurant. You'll be glad you did.

Very nice property... staff was very helpful. The food was good, not overly expensive. The location was great good walking distances to other sites in the downtown area. The shower pressure was awesome.

I did not have a very pleasant experience staying at the Hilton in Atlanta. At arrival I discovered that WIFI was not included in the rate of the room. (see earlier reviews on my opinion on paying extra for WIFI in this type of hotel) I decided to upgrade to a better room, with WIFI access and breakfast for an additional $25 a night. However, when arriving at the room the WIFI connection was really bad. I could only login to the network if I was standing next to the door of my room. I went down to complain and they moved me to another floor in which the WIFI connection was supposed to be better. It was still very bad however (the reception said it could be caused by the fact that I had a European phone). The next morning I was not pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. The breakfast was very basic and nothing more than what you typical get at a road-side motel. In the end, I downgraded to a regular room, without WIFI and without breakfast. The room was OK. The room was actually better than the room at the executive level which was a bit smelly.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the speed and cost of our wireless internet service at our hotel. We’re sorry that it didn’t work well during your stay. While we do charge an additional fee for wireless internet, we try to be competitive with other hotels and offer quality services and amenities in our guest rooms. We hope you’ll consider staying with us again.

Hilton hotels have gone horribly downhill in recent years. They are placing more and more emphasis on squeezing extra money out of guests. It all starts at check-in, where the staff are incentivized to get you to upgrade. You are told you are eligible for an upgrade "for only $20." Then you are told about the special price for adding WIFI and breakfast, as a package (an expensive package). Then you go to the room and find there is no complimentary bottled water. You have to go downstairs to buy the water. Then you turn on the TV and find it almost impossible to figure out how to view free TV channels. You go through about ten complicated steps to avoid buying pay TV and find the free channels -- very frustrating. Next, use the internet for which you have paid an exorbitant extra charge. It works fine until you turn off your computer and then log on again -- and have to go through the signup process again, avoiding the hotel deals offered, and finally get back to using the internet.

The rooms themselves are fine -- no problems other than the lack of water and the diabolical TV system. The staff are friendly, helpful and apologetic about the constant attempts to get you to spend more money. The staff seem to understand the problems but are forced into a bad situation by management.

Last but not least -- if you are a "Hilton Honors" member and have not stayed in a Hilton Hotel for six months, you find your are off their list and have lost your accumulated points! Ridiculous!

Hilton -- WAKE UP!!!!
