“Good Casual Bistro in a Hip Area”
Reviewed 16 May 2014

Across the Street (or ATS, as it is also known) offers good food and a casual atmosphere in one of Atlanta's more hip areas - where the Old Fourth Ward and Inman Park come together, with a view of the Atlanta skyline and the activity of the Atlanta Beltline and Freedom Path passing by. In good weather, there's a bit of outdoor seating which is a nice touch.

“Wonderful Patio, Pet Friendly, Laid Back Restaurant w/ Good Food”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

Enjoyed a family brunch today, sitting in the covered outdoor patio. It was a bit rainy, but the portable gas tower heaters did a great job.

Brunch menu just added to the variety of offerings available. I had the Huevos Rancheros, my wife an Omelette Mista, and the boys Fish Tacos and Poached Eggs w/ Crab and Grits. Portions were very healthy. Best value, IMO.

What I like best, aside from the eclectic patio overlooking the Freedom Park Path, is how laid back the environment is - allowing patrons to enjoy themselves. Some restaurants have those annoying wait staff that's constantly trying to push appetizers, desert, etc. until you finally order one just so they leave you alone. It's truly laid-back. I'm not a drinker, but they have a very nice full-bar in the patio.

Parking can be tight, with all the restaurants and shops on Highland Ave in the Old Fourth Ward, but they do have a separate parking lot, that had plenty of spaces available. It's just a block down in Samson St, on the left.

I'm sure we'll be back, especially with the Spring weather around the corner.

“Perfect stop for Mexican”
Reviewed 27 September 2013

The food looked delicious, but I was in for the drinks and the atmosphere -- families mixed smoothly with bar patrons looking to get their drink on, and the bartenders were awesome and laid-back. Can't wait to go back here -- amazing neighborhood spot!

“Good service but this is Not Mexican cuisine in any form known!”
Reviewed 27 May 2013

This review is based on a try of this establishment as I frequent many Mexican restaurants in Atlanta and have a few favorites whose quality and service are always in check. Thank goodness it was a Groupon used. How did two people have a $35 bill post Groupon for food that was mostly covered. Listen, cost is no issue when food is good, but when you cant eat anything you order and feel unsatisfied, it becomes a hot mess and complete waste of money. To sum it up all the food was wet and saucy, the sweet potato and plantain chips were oily and tasteless, the corn chowder was not palatable as it was only hot with pepper but tasteless. We also had a Chimichanga and the fajitas. Never have I had fajitas with filets of breasts, plantains, squash and so much sauce that its a wet drenched meal. If nothing else, its like my husband has said and we have seen over and over: "If you go to a Mexican restaurant and the salsa is terrible (as this was- watery and tasteless) then youd better not order anything more. I
Lesson Learned.
It a great area, service good and fantastic drink prices, but the cook needs to be schooled in Mexican cuisine.
