“Elegant, preserved specimen of an early 20th century mansion”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

It is rare to find a house of this type appointed with the family's personal furniture and belongings. On the tour you will enjoy the tiled floor and beautiful plaster moldings on and around the ceiling. The wooden paneled library with German style carvings are remarkable. The dominant feature of the house is the floating staircase. Not to be missed are the painted marble in Emily Inman's dressing room and the state of the art kitchen. Our guide was excellent, taking on the character of one of the occupants of the house. For history and architecture lovers, Swan House is not to be missed.

“Interesting ehibit and good restaurant”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

The house is an interesting 'colonial' house, beautifully conserved and worth a visit. The adjoining restaurant serves excellent meals, albeit perhaps a little bit pricey but the location and good service probably justify the price.

“Best Historic Home Tour Ever”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

The Swan House is a beautiful example of life for the rich in the Roaring 20's. The tour guide takes on a role of someone who actually worked at the mansion. My tour guide was the "butler". Another tour guide would be the "maid". The tour guide was very knowledgeable. He gave a brief history of the couple who actually had the house built in 1928. He described each room then you are actually allowed time on your own to see the various rooms on 2 floors. You decide how many minutes you will spend in each room except for the kitchen. That is at the end of the tour which includes being able to view the Tiffany dinnerware. After the guided tour of the house you can then explore the outside grounds on your own for however long you wish. The view of the back of the house with the awesome fountain is exquisite. The inside tour takes about 30 minutes and is included with the price of admission to the Atlanta History Center ($16.50)

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

Even though the house was only built in 1928, it contains a lot of much older furniture and was built in a much older style. The marble floors and elegant staircase give this house a lot of character. Worth a visit which is included in the Atlanta History Center ticket price.
