Owner description: Georgia Aquarium is the world's most magical aquarium. Situated near Centennial Olympic Park and World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta,Georgia, Georgia Aquarium offers its guests an experience like no other. Across six separate galleries, with more than 70 amazing habitats, 10 million gallons of water and thousands of species of marine animals, guests will marvel at, learn about and come to better understand such majestic aquatic animals as whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins, beluga whales, sea otters, African penguins and thousands of species of exotic fish and other animals. The spectacular AT&T Dolphin Tales show combines incredible natural animal behaviors with dynamic theatrics, a Broadway-inspired musical score and a compelling story, which together underscore the connection between humans and the animal world. The animated "Deepo's Undersea 3D Wondershow," for all ages, tells an entertaining but important story about conserving and protecting animals and their natural environment. Cafe Aquaria offers delicious sandwiches, salads, pizza, pasta and delectable desserts. Two gift shops give visitors the chance to take home a treasured collectible. Special animal encounter programs offer the chance to go behind the scenes and come face-to-face with dolphins, sea otters and penguins. Guests can even swim or dive with whale sharks and manta rays in the world's largest aquarium habitat (at 6.3 Million gallons), Ocean Voyager built by the Home Depot. And an onsite parking deck immediately adjacent to the aquarium means quick, easy-to-find and affordable parking.

Absolutely a must do! Well worth the price. Arrive after the crowds, get a behind the scenes tour with only 12 ppl per guide, bring your sleeping bags and pjs, and get ready to be amazed.

I have always had a good time with my youngest son (5 years old) and my two teenagers. The main attractions is the whale sharks along with the manta rays and the sea turtle if you can find him. I personally like the tropical reef area along with the Belugs whales. You could spend a couple hours here or most of the day if you go to the different shows or feeding times along with the 4D theater.

Watch out for lunch time, the cafe gets packed and seating is very hard to find plus it can get expensive. They are restaurants in the area if you want to venture out such as Baja Fresh or Subway a block away.

My wife and I watched the Sea Lion show and the Dolphin show. They are ok and would be fun for little kids but we are in a world now that doesn't like animal exploitation anymore. It felt uncomfortable watching the shows.

Definitely go if you have never been, it's a great place.

We visited the aquarium on Friday and really enjoyed it! We especially loved watching the otters - so adorable! We bought our tickets ahead of time and there was so waiting in line.

We spent 3ish hours here and it was worth every penny just to see the whale sharks and manta rays. The other exhibits ranged from awesome to alright. The Belugas and the rest of the cold water tanks were great, as was the tropical reef tank. The rivers and freshwater exhibit was nice. The sea lion show was cute but probably not worth waiting more than 10 minutes for since it lasted only 15 minutes. Definitely would be far more fabulous for a family with young kids or anyone enamored with sea lions. We skipped the dolphin show and decided to spend the last bit of our time going back through the tunnel and viewing the giant window of the whale sharks' tank.

I'd definitely recommend the aquarium to anyone who likes ocean life or anyone who has 3-4 hours to spare in Atlanta. If you're more interested in paying for extra experiences, the day could probably be stretched out (we are contemplating the scuba dive with the whale sharks in the future, but they also offer encounters that sound lovely).

If you do not like large crowds this will be a hard place for you depending on the time of year you go. I have been several times with the family and have loved it every time. Creachers of sea are so majestic and beautiful. Good place for the family to go and learn and have fun.
