“Excellent Thai food. Reasonable prices. Now called "Thai Silk"”
Reviewed 16 June 2011

Rama5 of Thailand is now called Thai Silk. The new website is www.thaisilkbuckhead.com.

I went there today, having previously eaten at and loved Rama 5. I asked an employee if the food was the same and he told me that everything is the same. Same owners, same managers, same chefs - just a new name due to "superstition." Who cares - This place is great!

We had the green curry (with chicken) and the Panang curry (beef). We both had Thai Iced Tea and coconut soup appetizer. The portions were generous (We ordered the dinner size) and the flavor was fantastic. This is great Thai - probably the best that I have had in Atlanta.

Service was friendly and very quick. The food was hot and fresh. The Thai Iced Tea is really good there and works well to quell the spicy fire on your tongue, if you order things hot. I requested come extra chilis to spice up my dish and the server brought out three different types of spicy stuff for me to use.

They have a bar area, but I don't know if they serve alcohol. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Highly recommend!

“Great Thai and Sushi”
Reviewed 11 September 2009

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. it has both excellent Thai and Sushi (and I am very picky about my sushi). Wednesday they offer discounted sushi. The restaurant has a nice covered patio. Increadly reasonably priced, given the large portions and excellent taste!

A nice atmosphere to spend the evening with some friends. You can hear each other and enjoy some decent food. The porch is pretty, with a fountain. Service is friendly. Wednesday nights are sushi specials.

“Freshest of Thai cooking”
Reviewed 17 October 2006

As an infrequent traveler to Atlanta or anywhere, finding high quality good food is a challenge. When in Buckhead, search no further than Rama5 of Thailand for the tastiest meal at good value. The dining room is modest but clean and comfortable. Service is very good. The food is the feature. Hot scale is on the mild side so be sure to ask for hotter versions if that is what you like. Wonderful flavor and impeccable ingredients. The quality is top notch and the portions are great. Red and green seafood curries are distinctly flavored and noodle dishes a nice complement. Great dining.
