We stayed at the Ellis September 9 and 10 while in town visiting friends. It's easy to get to from the airport, as it is right next to a MARTA station. Our room and the common areas were clean and updated. The staff at the front desk and housekeeping were all friendly. Our room was on the 8th floor and faced Peachtree, which provided a nice view, but there was quite a lot of noise from the bar next door on both nights.
My major complaint was the very slow service at the Terrace for breakfast. It took a long time for our food to arrive both mornings, and the wait staff was not very attentive. The food was great, however, which is why we went back Sunday morning. Also, the lobby coffee bar that is advertised is simply a self-serve coffee station. It does not have any of the "coffee drinks" advertised. The coffee was good, but a bit of a let down.
We also got a great room deal on the hotel website with an advance nonrefundable reservation. We saved about 40%.
