I have been at this property since the beginning of December (11). Everybody here made me feel welcome and the room was clean and comfortable. The only thing that I would like to see improved on are the food choices for the weekly dinner. This complaint is not site specific as all Residence Inn's I've stayed at offer roughly the same bulk dishes. For my almost six month stay, I'd like to see an occasional change in menu. Otherwise everything was great. I'll honesty miss some of the folks here.

Room Tip: High Floors are the best and the "07 Rooms" are the largest.

Location is good!
Short walk to Georgia State campus, Olympic Park, CNN, World of Coca Cola and the Aquarium.
Also just 2 blocks from METRA subway station (Peachtree)
Scheduled airport shuttle that is staffed with great drivers serves the hotel. Don't use the guys that hussle you at the airport.
Plenty of fastfood in the area and a good pizza/pasta place that serves pasta and salad in tin containers. Starbucks nearby. Quizionos next door to hotel.

Staff very friendly. Vallet serves as doorman. Hotel is kept spotless!
Computers could use some updating of software and the differences between the two are glaring.

Room was nice and quiet (not much traffic around the hotel in May) and has a pretty good view (on 15th floor), airco worked good.
Nice to have microwave and refrigerator in room.
Bed was really soft and so were the pillows.
The queen bed is a smaller queen, tight squeeze for two people.
Shower is always hot and has a pulsator head on it.

Breakfast not great, but its food.
Food is left in the serving pans a bit to long and gets soggy.
Powdered eggs that are softly cooked taste like liquid eggs. (big negative point for me)
Meat and potatoes style change each day.
Rest of the food is nice. Bread selection is good, fruit bowl is good
Orange juice is from a concentrate machine and to watered down, but apple juice was good.
Waffle iron cooks for 2 minutes which produces a soft waffle.

In summary, its a mixed bag when you stay here.

Room Tip: Higher rooms get less noise, though in May there is not much street traffic.

Yuor feedback about our breakfast is ppreciated and we will use it to continuously improve. A small detail - our eggs are not powdered eggs, but 100% pastuerized eggs. Please come back soon, Expat! We recently stayed 4 nights at this hotel with an infant. The hotel is in a converted office building so the rooms have odd shapes. Still, the 2 room suite was appreciated after a day full of sight seeing.

Access: One side of the hotel is on Forsyth Street (accross the street from the main city public library) and the other side of the hotel is on Peachtree Street. We rode Mega Bus to Atlanta, which uses the Civic Center Marta Station as its terminal. The hotel is one block south of Peachtree Center Marta Station, which is one stop south of the Civic Center Station. At the Peachtree Center Station exit the Marta platform on the Ellis Street side and you will be closer to the hotel. Use the East Peachtree Street exit from the Marta station if it is open (it was closed during our stay) as it is closer to the hotel. If you use the West Peachtree exit you will exit the station on the other side of Peachtree Street from the hotel, though there is a crosswalk that allows an easy crossing. Margaret Mitchell Square is adjacent to the hotel. The Peachtree Center Station is on the same line that serves the airport.

Attractions: The hotel is about a 10 to 15 minute downhill walk to the Aquarium, Children's Museum, and World of Coca-Cola (uphill on the return!), There is a great park for toddlers and children across from the Aquarium at Centennial Olympic Park that is a great stop for visiting families. The hotel is also a 5 minute walk to the Five Points Station and Underground Atlanta. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the #32 bus that will take you to the zoo.

Dining: A Quiznos Subs is next door to the hotel and is open until 6 PM. Also, the hotel is about 2 blocks from the Landmark Diner, which is always open (24/7). The Peachtree Center has a Food Court in the mall that open until 6 PM on weekdays. The Underground Atlanta food court has a Dairy Queen and various other fast food places and is open until 8 PM and any place downtown is only a short walk from the hotel. The Hard Rock Cafe is about 3 blocks north of the hotel. Also, The Varsity is only two Marta stops north of the Hotel near the North Avenue Marta Station.

Shopping: Being downtown there are not any big box stores nearby. Nevertheless, the hotel is across the street from the Georgia Pacific building ("GP Building") and there is a CVS Pharmacy in the lobby of the building that sells mainly just medicine and health care items and is open during the work day. There is another CVS Pharmacy near the Five Points Marta Station that has a much bigger selection of items (snacks, makeup, batteries, drinks, etc.) that also has longer hours. For grocery shopping there is a Publix Grocery Store very near the Marta Midtown Station, which is only a few stops up from the Peachtree Center Station.

Hotel Amenities: This hotel seems to have the best breakfasts and light dinners I have had at a Residence Inn. One morning they had an Eggs Florentine dish which was a surprise. For dinner the week we stayed various nights had chili, make your own hoagie sandwich, grilled chicken, and chicken fajitas. The beer and wine were included with the light meal each night though light is a bit of an understatement as the meal was substantial and filling.

The hotel does not have a pool but hotel guests do have access to pools at 2 nearby Marriott branded hotels, so just ask the front desk for directions. Also there is a workout room on the second floor with treadmills. I did not use the workout room since I was doing a lot of walking downtown seeing the sights!

Every Tuesday night the hotel manager gives a free walking tour of downtown at 5:30 PM. She took us to Five Points/Underground Atlanta, Woodruff Park, and pointed out Auburn Avenue. This was a nice surprise and very informative.

The hotel does have self service washers and dryers as well as a laundry service should you be too busy to do your laundry. The washer and dryer cost $1.25 per load each.

Room: We stayed in room 2003 on the 20th floor (top floor) and the room was quiet, though the front desk does provide free ear plugs should your room have any traffic noise. The room was a bit small, but this is to be expected in a downtown location. There was a full size refrigerator in the room along with a microwave, two eye burner, and dishwasher. The room even came stocked with a corkscrew and wine glasses, should you be so inclined.

This hotel was perfect for our stay and offered all of the amenities we could ask for. Also, the proximity to the Marta Station and bus stops made getting around a breeze, without having to worry about traffic.

Room Tip: Rooms higher up are quieter but the hotel does provide ear plugs should your room be noisy.
