My family and I visited Atlanta for the Battle of the Bands and decided to stay here for 3 nights, 1/28 - 1/31. I agree with some of the other reviews about the size of the rooms...much smaller than I expected but we were able to deal with it. The room was very clean & the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and we will definitely stay here for next year's Battle of the Bands.

Used Marriott Rewards points for two night stay 1/29-31. Sierra at front desk delivers excellent service to guests, remembers names, and is always friendly. Studio suites are quite small for a Towneplace; given their claim is that you get more space than a hotel room, I would debate this here. Refreshed Marriott bedding, but older style kitchen and bathroom. Overall positive experience and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area.

Pros
Great Staff
Above average breakfast

Cons
Shuttle has limited schedule ( though website doesnt say)
Older Property so walls are thin
Not in Buckhead really and you need a car
Stay away from back side as rooms are against a freeway offramp

The staff is what makes this property great!

I stayed here for three days in June09 and here is my take.

This hotel is fine - not the best Marriott suite type hotel I have ever been in but adequate.

Positives:
-- Included parking and modest breakfast (just the basics)
-- Bedding was clean and white Marriott bedding
-- Was able to get a one bed room suite for a reasonable price

It seems that it just needs some renovation:
-- The vinyl flooring was scuffed and ripped a bit in my room in the kitchen and bath
-- The bath liner had been patched
-- The kitchen table was worn and needed replacing
-- Flat panel TVs but no HD channels (why do they do this?)

Overall this place would be a great hotel if they spent some money and updated aspects of the rooms. But overall it is fine for a few days.

They make bed, empty trashes, changes towels during the day. You sleep at night and eat breakfast in the morning. Don’t expect too much beyond that. This hotel lacks attention to the little things. Out of extra pillows, Out of waffles 7 in the morning, Out of papers on the printer; No area maps, No Band-Aids....on and on...Housekeeper didn’t give us new soaps and shampoos until I stop by the front counter. But they are very friendly when speaking to you, so I feel difficult to give a bad review to those smiling faces. Other things I don’t like are:
-only living area has a A/C unit. A small tunnel fan, which suppose to below the cool air from living area to bedroom is powerless and noisy.
-All the lights are fluorescent; the place feel cold and alienating
-No duct-out vent in the kitchen; someone on our floor cooked heavy curry one day, and the smells just permeated everywhere and we smelled like a onion for the whole day. I guess guests should be self-aware. But the hotel could have a better venting or have a policy against heavy favored cooking.

On the positive side, things I liked about this hotel are:
-free garage parking; hard to find for hotels in buckhead area
-large desk and all of the kitchen essentials are there
-good location: convenient store, Target, Best-buy right across the street. Marta station at the end of the street (15 minutes walk). Lenox mall 5 minutes drive. Free shuttle is available for 3 miles radius in the morning and after 4 pm.
-free breakfast: not a hot breakfast, meaning no scrambled-eggs, sausages etc, but did have most of the breakfast essentials.
-free wireless internet, free printing (in the lobby)
-pool: shared with the hotel next door

I used my Marriott rewards for the stay, but I found out afterwards that it costs around $160 per night, which I think, is NOT a bargain anymore given its class and its services, even with all of those free stuff.

People are sure nice though!!!

Spent 2 nights Apr 27-29 in a studio suite. Free parking, breakfast, and internet. There is also free parking available at the Lindbergh Marta station (up to 24hrs) although we could have walked (about 20 minutes.) Only about 5 stops to downtown--quick and convenient. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle.

One night we cooked, one night we drove to the Lenox Square shopping/restaurant area--about 10 minutes away--and ate at California Pizza Kitchen. Closest Starbucks only a few blocks away. Morning breakfasts were adequate--bagels, muffins, cereal etc. Even the studio has full-size fridge/freezer, 2 ring-burner stove, toaster, dishwasher, coffee machine. No wine glasses but cutlery, crockery, and saucepan selection, plus extras: sieve, jug, and mixing bowls were adequate.

It was convenient for Atlanta and great value. One stairmaster, recumbent bike, and treadmill in fitness room although hotel offers passes to a nearby gym. We would stay there again without question.

Liked: having a kitchen, high speed internet, place to workout, free parking. Target across the street for those inevitable things you forgot to bring (or decided didnt make sense in 2 oz sizes).

Not so much: driveway forces you to either make a difficult and possibly illegal left turn or go around the block, entry mechanism on nearest door to parking garage (which was also closest to my room) was broken so I had to lug my stuff around the parking lot and all around the hotel hallways. housekeeping likes to turn the A/C sensor down to 50 degrees in the dead of winter so you come home to a freezing room.
