Very hard to describe this wonderful slice of heaven. Only minutes from downtown Granada, the hotel-de-charme is completely isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city. A large family, with the in-laws in tow, we sought a place where we could simply relax. Almunia sits on a mountain face looking onto the mountains and valleys beyond. The hotel is extremely well appointed and took fantastic care of us (and our young kids). Patricia and Manuel made us feel at home and after our 3- night stay, felt like part of the family. Breakfast outside on the upper patio is breathtaking and the entire estate is adorned with several varieties of fruit trees. The meals, concocted by Patricia, were absolutely delicious. We look forward to returning to take advantage of the pool in warmer climes!

Room Tip: Not an easy place to find (don't hesitate to call!) and less experienced drivers might find the climb up a little challenging.

We had planned to stay in downtown Granada but decided to book this place in Monachil in the hills just a few minutes south of the Alhambra and downtown. What a stroke of genius as we had wonderful views of the hills and cities from a quite setting in which to enjoy nature and great accommodations. We were 20 minutes from La Alhambra but felt like in a nature setting. The room was perfect - we chose the basic room and were not disappointed - the breakfast excellent quality, and selection. The dinner on the patio was romantic and with wonderful food. We were so glad to not be in the city with a rental car and the parking hassle and cost.

This little hotel has à wonderful setting in the hills. The room had all the necessities you need. Our room had a pink setting and à small balcony with a great view. The dinner, that has to be pre-booked, is a must. If the weather allows it. is served on the terrace, nice as the sun sets behind the hills. There is a small pool.on site that we did not try. The hosts are doing a great job with tthis place.

Just two nights and wish it had been longer.

Hosts Manuel and Patricia are very welcoming. The views are stunning, the rooms lovely and evening meals cooked by Patricia and co. are splendid and very fair value. The breakfast too is worth lingering over. All in all a very fine, grown-up hotel for grown-ups. And other than that the other reviews pretty much sum it up.

We recently spent two nights in this beautiful and peaceful retreat - it wasn't enough! It is hard to believe that the bustling city of Granada is only a 20 minute drive away. The views are breath taking, the air is clear and the night sky is magical. We had one meal cooked by Patricia which was exquisite. As a non red meat eater she more than accommodated my dietary needs. The five course menu was delicious and the wines were equally enjoyable. The bedrooms are tasteful and comfortable. We were also struck by the attention to detail in both the bedroom and the bathroom, down to the pretty and artistic plugs for the sink and bath! The swimming pool and garden area offered a cool respite during the hottest part of the day and lunch can be taken by the pool. We will return!
