Ok, don't expect 5 star amenities such as Wifi, mini bar, turndown etc. But do expect a stunning location with views you won't forget, genuine staff who are extremely helpful and if you like dogs a beautiful in house Retriever called Christina. It's not far to drive to get to Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada so strongly consider this hotel as opposed to staying in Granada. If you just want to relax the pool area will tick the box for you, there are loungers and also an honesty bar if you are hungry or thirsty.Dinner is a set 5 course affair and the food is of high quality. There are a few restaurants in the local village of Monachil if you prefer to dine out. This was the cheapest place we stayed on a 2 week tour around Spain but is up there as one of the best. Thanks all at the Alumnia Del Valle

La almunia is hands down the most wonderful place we have ever stayed. Here on our honeymoon and do not want to leave. The rooms are stunning with beautiful views of the valley. The food is fantastic and above all the staff are amazing, impeccable, personable and will do everything to make your stay memorable

A stay at the Almunia del Valle is priceless. It is more than your money worth.

The road leading to the hotel may be a challenging experience for some but once your reach the hotel you have the most fantastic views. The hotel has a 3 star classification but a 5 or 6 star classification could also have been appropriate.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable and offer everything a luxury hotel would also have.
The beds are excellent and in the morning you sometimes regret having to get up.

The owners and staff however are the best. What a welcome they give you and what a great service they continuosly give during you stay.
The hotel serves a fixed 5 course dinner in the evening. Usually guests are informed at breakfast what is on the evening menu. You can then choose to have dinner or eat out. Staying for dinner is however a pleasure. Weather permitting you eat outside on the terrace with a view over the mountains. The food is of fresh local products and of very good quality.

All in all a hotel I will want to go back to.
Thanks again to all staff for a wonderful stay.

This was a beautiful hotel, with stunning views from our room & even more stunning from the breakfast table on the terrace! Maria was very helpful. You need transport or we used taxis, which were around 20 euros to Granada. We didn't have time to do any walking, but would love to return!

Two travelling ladies stayed at La Almunia del Valle after visiting Granada and the rush and bustle, and hordes of people, at Alhambra Palace. What a relief and a perfect antidote to city life. The new rooms we were given, for single occupancy, were so comfortable, with perfect bedding, and a sunken bath one could lie in and look at the mountains beyond. The terrace for breakfast overlooks magnificent scenery, and there are plenty of energetic walks available nearby. Even the walk down to the village of Monachil is easy but the return climb uphill back is a challenge. (One evening, the owner was kind enough to come and collect us in her own car, to save our legs!). We dined in on two occasions, and the dinners were absolutely delicious, and a credit to the chef!! It's like being cooked for by someone who loves their food and its presentation. The owners obviously love their hotel and do everything to make it feel like visiting their home. The gardens are a delight, with a super swimming pool. Three days wasn't enough - and we'll be back. Very highly recommended. If you are planning a trip to Granafa, definitely include this stop.

Room Tip: Request one of the rooms in the new annex - though the design of the exterior of the building ensure...

This place is the real deal! The full package! And most equally important, worth the challenge of getting here (you WILL need a car and the ability to navigate tight mountain roads). The owners and staff diligently attend to every detail in order to make the stay comfortable and memorable for all the reasons described throughout the many 5-star reviews (gorgeous vistas, tastefully designed and decorated premises, luxurious and clean rooms, excellent food, great travel advice etc.) My wife and I have been lucky enough to stay at many wonderful hotels around the world and this makes the short list of the best (but not the list of most expensive).

There is no words to describe how wonderful Patricia and Manuel are. From the moment you set foot in their hotel, they make sure to accommodate you and make your stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel is very well appointed, we travelled with young kids and they had plenty to entertain them. Patricia is a wonderful cook and the meals we had were wonderful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Most of them have their own private little terrasse overlooking a breathtaking view of the valley.

I look forward to going back and enjoy warmer days to take advantage of the pool.
