“Nice setting disappointing service.”
Reviewed 1 June 2012

We found the staff rather inattentive and it was not a busy evening! The order was mixed up resulting in the rare steak being well done and a swap of our meals becoming necessary as staff were not keen to replace. It was disappointing all round as the setting was so beautiful. Maybe we were unlucky, maybe the chef was ill or waiters had not turned in to work. Either way I would not be keen to return.

“not happy to find we were booked in with a large wedding party”
Reviewed 19 September 2011

The restaurant for a spanish one was pleasing both in respect of the decor and the presentation of the food served. However we arrived on a sat lunchtime to find a wedding party of several hundred were arriving imminently although this was not mentioned at the time of booking . As a consequence i felt under pressure to rush choosing and eating my meal . As the meal cost just under 200 euros for 4 of us I felt this was not acceptable . We did not linger as long as we might have done as a result but managed to get out while the wedding party were still in the garden with their pre dinner drinks. I doubt if they would have been very impressed to have found themselves sharing with strangers either.
The menu choice was extensive but there was no way of judging portion size, some of the meals were massive and others were small. Top marks for presentation which was beautiful and of a standard seldom found in local spanish restaurants.

“Best restaurant in the area”
Reviewed 8 July 2011

We stopped here for a Menu del Dia lunch and what a lunch - it was fantastic and the best we have had in the five years of living in this area.

The Restaurant is set around a lovely garden with tables attractively laid out on the covered terrace. Alternatively there is a pretty restaurant. The lunch started with a very tasty crab terrine appetiser, served on the house. We then had traditional revueltos with mushrooms and them a timbale of lenguado (dover sole) which was really delicious and so attractively presented. The pudding was home made, a cinnamon mousse served on a sponge base and again beautifully presented. Accompanying the meal we had a particularly good bottle of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from Bodega del Anchuron near Granada. Served with our coffee at the end of the meal were little white chocolate cases filled with Bayley´s.

The whole meal came to €39, which we thought was fantastic value for such an exceptional meal. We will be returning to sample their Dinner a la Carte menu, which also seemed to be reasonably priced and offered a good selection of innovative food.
