If you stay here you will never forget it. The cave house is amazing with something new to find at every turn and in every corner. Everything is very Morroccan themed with sumptuous throws, cushions and hangings. The tiny doors cut into the walls hold fairy delights. We loved the fairies that we saw every day in every room and of course Malutka Fairy was the perfect host and quite fascinating to talk to. We ddn't use the two patios a lot as we loved the garden so much. The baby tortoises were fascinating and the dogs and cats a delight. Thanks Malutka
The cave wasn't what I expected, being on the tall side I thought I'd find it to be claustrophobic and uncomfortable, I was wrong. There was plenty of space and I only had to duck a couple of times and in any case Malutka had thoughtfully provided some cushioning on the entrance so whacking my head on the doorway was no problem at all!
The level of thoughtfulness demonstrated at the doorway extended through the rest of the property and it's amenities. I was delighted to find some basics provided, a little coffee, some oil, cooking herbs and spices. A welcoming bottle of wine and all the other little things you need when renting a space to live in for a for a while.
Other facilities of note for people coming to stay for a longer period and perhaps with children or demanding partners who require stimulating to stop them causing chaos include internet which works well in the front of the property, UK and Spanish television channels and a small but SMART television so you can cast whatever you like to it. There was also a DVD player, CDs and a stereo to play them on. Alternative entertainment was in the form of some board games and a library of books, mostly in English.
The cave was comfortable, it has a good dining area, fully functional and well equipped kitchen.
There were a number of beds in the property, I didn't fit fully on any of them as I'm 6ft4/193cm, I resolved the problem by putting the mattress on the floor, I can't imagine this will be an issue for anyone who is a few cms shorter as I almost fitted on it perfectly and if I'd had it to myself rather than sharing I'd have just lied diagonally. That's the only criticism I would make and I mention it reluctantly because this is easily the best vacation/holiday home I've rented.
As to the spirit and decor of the cave it really caught my imagination and I found myself being both amused and surprised at the little touches and humour that abound.
It also benefits from some of the most fantastic views I've ever seen. I can't even begin to describe them, come and see for yourself.
We had a lovely stay here in Spring of 2017. The location was ideal for seeing various attractions in Andalucía, including Granada and Castril. Both truly stunning.
The cave house was really something unique, with lots of intriguing 'mini caves' to explore inside. Malutka has made the cave house both welcoming and comfortable for her guests. If you like animals, you will be in heaven here.
We struggled a bit with meals, as we couldn't understand the menus (they don't seem to have English menus), but found a lovely restaurant in the last couple of days we were there, called San Remo Pizzeria. They serve lots of dishes as well as pizza.
Thank you Malutka for making our stay so memorable. xx
a lovely cave, imaginatively decorated, had fun finding what was behind the themed areas hollowed out in the cave walls. Comprehensive guide to the area around the town within the cave. A whole new experience from a mundane apartment, Try it!
It was magical for our family of 5 to stay here. Fairy grottos to find, beautiful things in every room. Children need to know to how be careful with delicate things. If they can do this, they will love it. It felt cozy and warm. 7 rooms, lots to explore and enjoy in this very unique and wonderful place!
Malutka has decorated the cave so it is like living in a quirky museum/art gallery. After a week there we were still finding novelties and hidden gems. She is an interesting lady whom we spent some time with. We also enjoyed the company of her pets. The cave house was a truly amazing experience. We enjoyed the walk up the river Castril. There is a wealth of information about the area at the cave and it is very well equipped for cooking with many herbs, oils etc. All beach/picnic equipment is also available for use. There are plenty of books and games. You could really never be bored there.
