“Friendly family run hotel”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

This was our second visit here and we will return again because of the location, value for money and the charming and attentive staff, especially Mercedes the manager. It does need updating, especially the bathrooms, but importantly it is clean, comfortable, quiet and just across the road from the beach. We usually spent the evenings in town where it was livelier but we did really enjoy a Cuban night in the hotel and the food was delicious. There is also a friendly bar next to the hotel which we enjoyed visiting for a final coffee etc.I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a relaxing break.

Just returned from 4 days here. We were worried by a couple of previous reviews but once there we were delighted. The owner Mercedes waited up for us as we checked in very late and gave us some bottled water. Our room was spotlessly clean, rather spartan but all the basics were there. The breakfast was excellent, bread, rolls, croissants, cold meat and cheese, cereals, juices, tea and coffee. It is just across from the beach and has several good restaurants and cafes close by. A decent pool on the 2nd floor but no sun beds. Excellent value for what we paid with a beautiful sea view. Only one niggle, we smashed a glass by accident and were still finding pieces right up to when we left despite mentioning it several times.

Room Tip: Always pay for a sea view, mountain views look out onto a dark sheer rock face a few feet away.

We stayed at the hotel for 12 days and every day was the same good service. It means a lot to the owners themselves are on site along with their nice staff. All greet each other and say hello and ask about how you feel. The total staff made us feel at home and welcome, and the best recommendation we can give is that we will definitely stay there again in the future.

Room Tip: In the restaurant you can get everything just asking about it. We ended up eating at the hotel resta...

This place advertises itself as a hotel but it is nothing of the sort. I'm a pretty relaxed Spanish speaker and I was here for two days...im still here now as I write this in fact so let me give you the positives....the view....it only has the first two floors of an appartment block so the views are restricted but still amazing....this I think is why they can charge so much....84 euros a night which is high...if you don't need a sea view then there are plenty of other places...other positives are mostly Cuban staff who are very friendly.....negatives. ...we were told the TV was out of order in our room..no bug deal as dont watch TV.....internet....good luck...never works ANYWHERE so expect to stay incognito. ...no mini bar....ok....no safe! So make sure you have a lock...this is really poor for a hotel in 2014....ok...the fixtures and fittings are total crap...no refit since 1973..whole place stinks of damp and aged decor....the shower is great...double shower but all from 1973..the toilet basin lid peeled off and is cracked....see photos...it's disgusting. ...bed..foam..no springs....damp feeling....no pillows only a skinny sausage thing....sheets were stained and not changed by housekeeping....ours had blood stain on them...This place is more like a youth hostel than a hotel and I will be complaining to the municipality about the conditions....for 84 euros please go elsewhere. ...oh...breakfast. ...the worst I have ever had....in spain no excuse....bland meat....the worst coffee in the world and orange squash for juice....don't bother....ok....you have been warned...

We used this for a one night stop-over on our way to Granada. It was OK, but nothing flash. It took several minutes to get someone to check us in when we arrived as there was no one on the front desk. The car park was good, especially as a storm went through in the night and flooded most of the streets, but our car was fine. The view from the room was good, being just across the street from the beach.

They only have a few rooms, and take up only part of one floor in the building.

We would highly recommend this small hotel. Don't be deceived by the photograph as the hotel is only a few rooms on the first floor the rest are private apartments mainly empty at this time of the year. The size of the hotel makes for a cosier feel from private owners than you may experience in other parts of the resort. With many hotels to choose from on the seafront we were lucky to have chosen this one. Free parking close by at this time of the season. A very warm welcome at reception and swiftly had the key to our room. Nice surprise to have been upgraded free of charge to a sea view room. All public areas plus the room were exceptionally clean, not a new characterless hotel but very well decorated and presented. Large ensuite with hairdryer, plenty of towels etc. Blankets present in the room and also extra pillows quickly provided when we asked. Lovely little balcony directly overlooking the water, perfect sun trap for reading or just relaxing and watching the World go by. Free WiFi available in all public areas. All the staff were so lovely and helpful, and we had the Menu de Dia in the evening which was very good value. Typical continental breakfast in the morning with plenty of ham, cheese, bread, jams, pate, fruit, cereals, fruit juices, coffee and tea. We couldn't fault this hotel or the wonderful staff and if the area again will definitely return.

Room Tip: If you can we suggest you book yourselves a seafront room

Laid back atmosphere. Very hard working staff, anxious to please. It's always nice to have a manager who listens and makes improvements - all you have to do is ask. Beautifully clean rooms (try to secure a balcony at the front overlooking the sea, but watch out for the music from the restaurant below). Capacious showers in every room. You might want to ask for a kettle and a safe. The restaurant food could be better - especially on a half board ticket - repetitive and unintersting for the first week but quality improved markedly in the second. The same menu is offered for both lunch or dinner and excludes drinks. Breakfasts were unimaginative and plainly 'continental' throughout. For some reason spoons seemed to be rather rare. Parking can be difficult outside the hotel in the busy season but they do have a garage, though be aware that it's difficult to manoeuvre in there when it's busy. The town is within easy walking distance and there are some good tapas bars very nearby. All in all a great place to stay at a fair price with a real Spanish feel, good WiFi and within two minutes of the beach. You'll be glad that the balconies don't face the sunset after a really hot day! Enjoy.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea facing balcony. Views of the town and beach somewhat obscured to the north e...
