“One of the toppers in Almunecar but the price could hit your funds!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

I cannot get around it, the restaurant is a true topper! I was there for the second time with a party of three. All dishes, starter, main and desert were refined and excelled.
Service was a bit 'Nordic' but then ... it could be our servant from Scandinavia was still defrosting.
The pricing is dangerously high for a town like Almunecar (can the restaurant survive in a touristic seaside village that closes down' for almost eight out of twelve months?), but I must confess the quality is in line.
The spot at the boulevard is nice and the restaurant is decorated with style.
So, my advice, go there but don’t bring your seven kids as it will bring you close to bankruptcy.

“Wonderful experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

We've been meaning to try By Larius for some time now after many good reviews by friends. Yesterday was my birthday and so four of us went for dinner. We weren't disappointed at all. The food was wonderful and the service very good. The girl who served us was helpful and attentive at all times, even bringing over the chef when we had some questions about the food. I had the mozzarella and tomato salad for a starter which was delicious and the burger for main course which again was very good. They also brought out a small bowl of pumpkin soup as a taster before the meal and a schnapps at the end, both on the house. The house red and white wine was very good and reasonably priced. All in all a very good way to spend a birthday. We will definitely be back!

“Quality meal, beautifully presented and excellent service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014

By Larius is located on the beach road (Paseo de Velilla), so enjoys good views of the beach across the road. The tables are set with linen tablecloths and serviettes.

We went for lunch. The menu at lunchtime is shorter than the dinner menu, but still comprises a good selection of quality dishes. You could also chose a set menu (2 courses for €25 or 3 courses for €30). One chose the three course menu - beef carpaccio, followed by duck breast and then dessert of Panacotta. The other chose from the menu and opted for soup of the day (which was lobster soup) €6 and langostinos pil-pil €12 to follow.

All dishes were beautifully presented and pleasing to the eye. It is apparent that the chefs take much pride in the presentation of all of the dishes with great attention to detail.

To start we were offered fresh homemade bread from the oven with a choice of lemon butter or regular butter. The carpaccio was served with pine nuts, pesto, finely grated cheese, rucula and decorated with nasturtiums. The lobster soup was quite exquisite and was delicious. The duck breast was perfectly cooked and was served with fresh vegetables. The langostinos were very fresh and served piping hot. The Panacotta was especially delicious as it was served with biscuit, toffee meringue and berries. Even the coffees at the end of the meal were served with homemade chocolate truffles and marshmallows.

The service throughout the meal was charming and professional with the waitresses carefully describing the details of all the dishes as they were served.

Very reasonably priced for such good quality. This restaurant is in in a class of its own compared to many other restaurants nearby.

“Nice and exclusive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014 via mobile

Hi. This restaurant is the old Argentina steakhouse un an even better rapping. The food is excellent and the place is quite. The prices is high end in Almunecar and in comparison you get more value for the money at other restaurants. Recommended if you like to celebrate.

“Great reviews are fully deserved”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

We have visited this Danish-owned restaurant and its predecessors in the same location several times. Our most recent dinner was simply the best meal we have had in Almunecar over several years (we have a holiday home here). Three courses from a set menu, each outstanding, with very good wine and all at a reasonable price. Everyone in our group of 10 was extremely satisfied.
