“Don't miss out, and don't forget about desert!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

My family and I ate here after taking the half day tour of the park. The waitstaff was outstanding, and was very attentive to all of my families needs. The waiter recommended the salmon clam chowder which my mother had and really enjoyed it. My father had the beef medallions, my son had the trout and I had the chicken. They were all delicious. We saved room for desert and the carrot cake was unbelievable. We devoured the desert in about 3 seconds. This place is a can't miss, so make sure you make time to try it.

We have eaten all over the world and the food here is as good as any of the places we have eaten. The staff was very attentive and the view was beautiful.

“Great Option in the Park!”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was here and the ambiance was fantastic too. Don't miss the upstairs patio and live music in the evenings. Surprising find at a park and we appreciated a sit down restaurant after the cafeteria style breakfast and lunch!

“First night was good, glad we came back for seconds”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

My family stayed at the Farview Lodge at Mesa verde. Dining choices were pretty slim. We'd been on a family road trip for a few days and decided to give the Metate Room a try. The food was really tasty and unique. Fair prices, too, considering we were next to nowhere. Our waiter, Colby Stanton, was terrific. Our second night, when deciding where to eat, the kids persuaded us that we should go see Colby again. The hostess told us he was working the lounge but we were welcome to head up there to eat dinner. The unexpected bonus was musician Tim Guidotti playing his guitar and singing everything from John Denver to Supertramp with Pink Floyd thrown in. He took requests and our daughter joined him at the mic for a Neil Diamond favorite. Colby was crazy busy but still had time to interact with our kids and gave us a second night of great service. Colby and Tim teamed up to give our family a very memorable experience at a unique venue with a fantastic view. Definitely order their cheese stuffed cannoli dessert. Yum.

“Nice high end restaurant...expensive!”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Was the bread a bit overplayed? Too salty if you ask me and the tortillas tasted store bought. The waiter introduces you to the bread so i feel bad dissing a food friend to whom I have been formally introduced. Entrees were great.
