“It was almost like meeting the Alcotts in person”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Although the whole family enjoyed this visit, my young teenage daughter was absolutely over the moon. Having grown up with the story, Little Women, my daughter could not believe she was actually standing in the place where the book was written. The guide was wonderful, extremely knowledgeable and really brought the Alcott family to life with her descriptions. It was terrific to be able to stroll through the house and garden. A wonderful experience.

“Interesting, but Sloooow”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

It was great to see a house where so many brilliant minds met. Although the tour guide was very nice and had some interesting facts she talked SO SLOWLY and it got slightly unbearable at points. She was deadpan and not very engaging. Could use a more upbeat guide.

“Fun to travel back to be Little Women”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

A rare historical house that has so many of the original furnishings and paintings. The guide was great and we really loved seeing the house in back. It was special to be in the room where Louisa May Alcott wrote the book. One of the best sites in Concord.

“A Period Piece for Alcott Fans”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

The home of Louisa May Alcott features a great deal of historical detail from the period, but the tour focuses on such minutia that only true fans of the author and her books are likely to remain interested through the end. Much original furniture provides a great glimpse of life in the era, but the tour would be more interesting to the casual traveler if it provided more of a generalist's overview of the author and her place in history, and a bit less of the tiny details of her family events. My companion and I darted out the side exit about four minutes into the extended discussion of yarn.

“Probably Better if You Like Little Women”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

It was interesting enough, but it is a guided tour, which takes a little longer than I would have liked. I'm certain that true Luisa May Alcott and/or Little Women fans would absolutely adore it!
