“A history lovers place”
Reviewed 20 April 2012

As I love the study of genealogy, I went there to look for ancestors. I found one of our ancestors buried there. It was thrilling!

“Great Cemetery”
Reviewed 10 April 2012

It is a cemetery, so don't get too excited. But it is really cool and has the hill with all the famous dead authors all right together. Cool to see for a quick visit.

“Bookish Cemetary”
Reviewed 2 January 2012

You can walk from town, but it's best to drive. If you like walking through cemetaries, this is one of the best. The Thoreaus, the Alcotts and others on Author's Hill. And other well known Concordians as well.

“You must visit Authors Ridge, and see....”
Reviewed 27 November 2011

Ephraim Wales Bull is buried here, he was the botanist who cultivated the famous Concord Grape from various Lambrusco grapes. 80% of the commercially grown grapes in the USA have their origins in Concord,Mass.

Mr. Bull never profited from all his work, because people sneaked into his vineyards and stole cuttings from his vines, so the epitaph on his tombstone here, reads "He sowed,...others reaped"
Louisa May Alcott is buried alongside Henry David Thoreau, and opposite Nathaniel Hawthorne, and 40 feet from Ralph Waldo Emerson on Authors Ridge.
The 1st woman in the USA to get a drivers license, is also buried here.

Welchs Concord Grape Company is stil headquartered in Concord.
