“Good dishes”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2013 via mobile

Sa Cala is nicely located in the restaurant street of Begur. We ordered the three course menu, starting with a tuna carpaccio which was delicious, followed with a standard sea food paella and ending with an awfull creme catalane ( was really overcooked). However when mentioning this to the ober, we were offered as alternative the Tiramissu which was good. This place is ok for the normal stuff but the service is friendlly and correct.

“Nice dinner in Begur”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2013

Our group of 9 recently dined at Sa Caleta in Begur. On the positive side, the atmosphere was very cozy and the staff was attentive. On the downside, we specifically went there for the paella and while it was tasty, it was nothing special. My wife has made better paella at home. Overall, the meal was average and I find it hard to believe that there is not a better option for paella in Begur.

“Great Paella, pleasant setting, with friendly swift service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2013

We chose this restaurant because it seemed to be fairly full of Spanish in a town that attracts a lot of us English and other Northern Europeans. The lobster paella was very good, and we didn't have to share, so my companion went for the menu del dia. Both meals were excellent, the house wine light and fresh and very palatable. We were late arriving and finished coffee with the staff enjoying their own lunch and watching the local soap on TV behind us. Excellent selection of home cooked seafood, and a family run business.

There is lots here I would like to eat, and I loved the way they took care of the very ancient gentlemen who dined alone behind us.

“bit disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 December 2012

The food is nice, but service was a bit lacking and in retrospect this was the least of 5 places we visited during our stay.

“Some people eat here every day!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2012

We did! Twice in 2 days, they were recommended for their rice dishes. Also great seafood by the day and home made aioli. Salads are incredible and service is very good. An old local guy shuffles in every day from the looks of it and has a salad and wine. It's a gem. Also opens through the afternoon when other places shut down for a couple of hours.
