I cannot say a bad thing about Aiguaclara - the hosts, Juan and Clara, make you feel like family from the second you walk in the door, they will do anything to help make your stay as memorable and enjoyable as possible. The hotel is decorated really tastefully, cosy and welcoming, and the bedrooms are all slightly different . Breakfast is a feast!! really, really lovely. The hotel is lovely and quiet, but located right in the middle of Begur, the perfect location to see the costa brava. I will definitely go back and stay, and I highly reccommend this hotel to people of all ages, families etc. It is like a home away from home! :)

The owners were very welcoming and helpful. They even went out and bought pasta (not on their menu) for our children the night we ate in the hotel restaurant. The building is very spacious, charming, and has wonderful views of the town and the castle ruins. Beds were very comfortable and had clean crisp linens. My only complaint was that the room, although huge, did not have enough storage for all four of us and our room was often a mess with suitcases and clothes everywhere. The bathroom could also use a cabinet or more shelving. Overall, it was a beautiful place and we experienced excellent weather for the beach and other tourist activities. The town is compact and fun to walk. Wished we could have stayed there longer!

In September, we took a brief two night detour from our stay in Barcelona to visit Begur. Based upon the reviews on TripAdvisor, we booked a two-night stay at the Aiguaclara. It turned out to be one the highlights of our trip! The location in Begur was fantastic and the owners, Joan and Clara, could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and we recommend having dinner at the hotel restaurant at least once. Overall it was one of the most memorable places that we have ever stayed. We look forward to returning for a longer stay!

Everything about our stay at Aiguaclara was fantastic. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the food was phenominal, and the rooms were absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed the village of Begur too. We only stayed 2 nights but wished we would have had 5. And by the way, before going to this hotel I read other reviews saying that the bell tower ringing every 15 minutes was annoying, but that is absurd. We were in the closest room to the bell tower and it didn't bother us in the slightest. In fact, it added to the charm of the village and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

We stayed for three nights in October in suite Aiguaclara. The room was well furnished with comfortable bed, crisp linen, soft towels and nice balcony. We liked the on-the-wall CD player and spanish tunes too!

The hotel has lovely decor, furnishings, artwork and artefacts. The honesty bars and lounge areas are a homely touch. The breakfast was very tasty; fresh coffee, OJ, hams, cheeses, fruits, pastries and home-made chocolate cake (to die for!). The dinner too was very good, with nice wines by the glass, and lively atmosphere. The bar terrace was an enjoyable place for a G & T or glass of cava as well.

Clara and Joan were very friendly and welcoming. They provided us with maps of the area for driving and walking, and we enjoyed visiting a number of nearby beaches. The hotel provided beach mats and parasols which was very handy. It's a shame we only found the bucket of beach towels (in the downstairs lounge) on the day we left!!

The hotel is well located, two minutes from the centre of the village. It is true you can hear the clock bells in (some parts of) the hotel, but you don't notice it after a while! Sa Caleta - just off main placa - is a great place for tapas. Very tasty and good value.

The beautiful Aiguaclara, hosted by Joan and Clara, two of the warmest people you could hope to meet, was a heavenly place to spend 3 days in this delightful hill town perched above the hidden bays of the Costa Brava. The room and ensuite bathroom were spotless and the beds were comfortable. The whole place was gorgeous, inside and out, filled with original and eyecatching antiques and art. Best of all, there are a couple great little areas in the hotel to get acquainted with a comfortable armchair and a good book. The proprietors are eager to help you with any requests you might have and proved very knowledgeable and helpful about places to visit in the area. Top it off with the fact that there is a decent restaurant on premises, and the whole experience is close to perfect.

We arrived in Begur as our first destination of a 10 day road trip through Catalonia after a busy conference in Barcelona. When arriving at Aiguaclara, the first thing my wife said was: I wished we could stay longer! Clara and Joan greeted us warmly and it was clear from the outset that Aiguaclara was a special place. It was absolutely aesthetically beautiful and relaxing for our souls. The breakfast and the common areas were amazing. The beaches and the walk to the castle ruins were unforgettable. We were traveling with our 2 year old daughter who was well-treated and loved both Aiguaclara and Begur itself. Not only was Aiguaclara charming and beautiful, it was well-run and professional. We found the whole experience to be both perfectly romantic, and romantically perfect. In a nutshell, when describing Aiguaclara to our friends, my wife perfectly described it as Joan and Clara's "Love Child."
