I booked here on the strength of reviews. I travelled with a friend. I thought the rooms were lovely, beds comfy and the bathroom more than adequate, in fact the shower was very powerful. Staff were great, Oscar arranged that we could have an early morning tray of tea and coffee in our room before breakfast, the lady who manages breakfast (sorry I've forgotten her name) was very helpful and friendly. Lunch and dinner was excellent.
BUT the it was very noisy at night, the restaurant tables are right below the rooms. It was nearly 1 am before I really had to lean out of the window to ask if people could possibly keep the noise down. There are NO facilities once the restaurant is closed, not even to get tea or coffee so a tray would be very welcome in the rooms with a kettle.
Sa Tuna is very picturesque, and we loved Begur.. lovely town square. We were bothered by flies and were bitten to death.
A car is essential. We loved the peace and quiet. Would definitely go again.. but would take a travel kettle.
We were sorry that we didn't have time to go to Girona..Cadaques was horrible!

Room Tip: All the rooms are the same..but take a travel kettle..

My husband and I stayed here for four nights during our honeymoon and absolutely adored it. The rooms are simple but beautiful with nice beds and linens and great bathrooms with waterfall shower heads. Everything has been recently updated, and they keep them sparklingly clean as well. The location on a small private cove is private and quiet. We loved taking the coastal path in different directions every morning - you are an easy drive or good walk from several beautiful beaches like Sa Tuna and Sa Riera. Breakfast every morning was hearty and delicious, with the best croissants I have ever had along with strong coffee, meats and cheeses, and fresh-squeezed juices.

The location of the hotel was great. It was an easy drive from Barcelona. We dined in Begur a few nights and also took day trips to Begur, Figueres, Pals, Palafrugell and some of the other beaches.

Oscar, the owner, is a fabulous and entertaining host. The restaurant is his pride and joy, and it is fabulous. We kept canceling other reservations so we could eat at the hotel. We got through most of the menu and specials - everything was outstanding - the food, the wine, the service, and the ambiance. I can't say enough about what a special place this is - we heartily recommend it and plan to return.

We booked this place as a weekend escape (actually we're still here as I write this) and as a celebration after a particularly busy period in our lives. It is fantastic.

The rooms are simple but beautiful, with great beds and terrific rain showers. What else do you need in reality?

Oscar was and is second to none in terms of customer service. And the restaurant!!!! It is very tempting to just hand the menu back and say the Harpo Marx words, 'Yes, and coffee.' Everything is great.

Andreas the waiter is a lovely guy too.

Tomorrow holds the promise of a three hour coastal walk that starts from the front door, after which we will settle back with a cava and the difficult decision of what to eat this time.

Outstanding.

A great little hostel and restaurant secluded in a small bay. The location is fantastic with stunning views. From your room you walk straight out into Cala d'Aiguafreda, great for walking the coastal path of just taking in the scenery.
The restaurant is superb, Oscar is a great host and the food and service second to none.
Dog friendly! Highly recommended.

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy Spain. The rooms are minimal modern yet beautiful, the restaurant is very nice with wonderful food. The location is stunning with literally a few mins walk to the sea. Oscar is a brilliant host with much enthusiasm for his business as well a fountain of knowledge about the area. The cleanliness is second to none with very friendly staff. We have loved every

We spent a whole week at the Hostal Sa Rascassa and ate at the restaurant 3 times. I remember each meal really well, and the wines that went with them. The razor clams, mussles, tuna tartare, steak, and piedras de chocolate, and goats cheese and honey were all great choices! The breakfasts were equally fresh and delicious and hosted by the lovely Angela who was a great person to start the day with. Oscar was helpful and pointed us in the right direction for some pottery we wanted to buy, and is clearly passionate about the place and the food.
I would give this place Excellent if the rooms were a bit bigger and not directly above the restaurant. It was a great atmosphere but sometimes a bit noisy late night.
Hope to come back here one day.

On front of the best cala on Costa Brava there is two places that I love to go!
One is the Xiringuito when I want to take a swim and relax!! You feel like it´s five o´clok somewhere!! And then I go to Sarrascassa to have a magic dinner!! Leo best cook and better person!! They always take care that you have everything you need! I´m the fan number 1 of this restaurant!! Always with something different to offer! You must visit if you are on the area!
