Travelling through Spain to catch a ferry in Santander friends recommended we stop of for an overnight in this Hospideria. They were so right. It has been tastefully restored, the staff were very helpful, particularly Manuel the waiter and barman. We booked dinner in the price and were we glad we did. It was superb, one of the best after many days of eating tapas. From the entree on it was simply great. The house red was beautiful and we then retired to our simple but very comfortable room which had WiFi good enough for watching British TV over a vpn. Thanks to all the staff but again to the multifunctional Manuel.

Brilliant stopover if you're motoring from southern Spain up to the northern ports - easy to get to from the motorway, but not too close; plenty of parking; huge room; all facilities; good restaurant -but it's more than that. The building and its stylish renovation is lovely; there's a nice swimming pool with views up to the nearby high hills and it's good value. Glass of wine in the bar at €1.50, set meal in the restaurant just €18 for three good courses plus the usual extras. Next time we'll try the €37 tasting menu and do some walking in the beautiful scenery as well as just enjoying the delightful atmosphere of this likeable hotel.

Pleasant and comfortable room. Friendly and extremely helpful staff. Beautifull building with easy access to the village center, the judaic quarter, and the hillside for some strenuous hiking. Food and wine is top in the atmospheric restaurant.

Hospederías de Extremadura is a chain of hotels in Extremadura, in about the same style as Paradores de Turismo nationwide for Spain, i.e. hotels housed in renovated old building or purpose built regional style mansions. This was the 4th hospedería de Extremadura we visited, in a former convent, and the last renovation managed to combine very well the old building with modern look wood accents.
We took advantage of a special "romantic" package advertised on the website, which included accomodation, breakfast, a special dinner and cava&fruit in the room, for 118€ all incl. Breakfast buffet is great (cf. other hospederías) and the special dinner was very well put together. Maybe, they should now spend some more attention to the wine and food pairing, as we thought the red wine served with this dinner wasn´t up to the level of the food...but of course, this is a minor comment.
When arriving at the hospedería, one might think you´re far away from the historical centre of Hervás, but it really is at the other side of the reception, so the hotel is perfectly situated to go and take some drinks (here, they ask you which free tapa you want with it) in the village.

We stayed for one night en route back to Santander from Seville. This beautifully converted convent provides tranquil accommodation for the weary traveller. The service was good and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The room was beautifully furnished as was the en-suite right down to a choice of 5 different pillow types. We both had a wonderful nights sleep. The hotel is set in an amazing location just off the main autovia.

We stayed a night here having read positive reviews on TripAdvisor and were not disappointed. The setting is superb and the restoration of the former convent is sympathetic and beautifully done. It is still 'work in progress' - a balcony is being developed as a herb garden and some public rooms are still not entirely refurbished, but overall it is beautiful and peaceful. The daily menu in the restaurant is reasonable, but not exciting; the a la carte menu looks very good, but is relatively expensive. Ample parking, and well signed in the town, but don't follow satnav directions, as they will take you to the front, which is difficult of access and has little parking.
