“A Great Find in Downtown Frederick”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2012

Newly opened, The Wine Kitchen, an offshoot of the one in Leesburg, Va., hasn't been truly discovered yet, but when it is, it's going to be packed. My advice: Check it out now. We've been there three times already for lunch and the food is sooo good -- try the tuna tartare (amazing) and the scallops. The owners and staff are also very warm and friendly. The wine list is full of interesting choices, which you can buy by the bottle, glass, or flight. And don't skip dessert -- the server assured us the panna cotta was mind-blowing, and it was. Cannot wait to go back. It's a great place to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon.

“The Wine Kitchen: New and Exciting Discovery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 December 2011

Only less than a month open, The Wine Kitchen was packed with customers on a Saturday evening. Our group of eight had reservations in the one room they have for such groups. The tables were prepared for our early arrival and the sparkling wine ready to pour, just as we had requested. The staff had even gotten a diet pepsi for one of our non-drinkers; unique since they don't stock this soft drink. The special was rabbit and turned out to be one of the best I have ever had. Other samplings included chicken, pork and scallops. All came out of the kitchen perfectly prepared and presented. The service was attentive but not overly bearing. The wine selection, obviously, was well presented and provided a number of reasonably priced selections by the bottle or by the flight. The manager was available for all to meet and made an effort to greet everyone. If they continue in the manner they have started, they will be destined to become a popular feature in Frederick. We will go again, soon. The location is on the waterway that now hosts a number of new and exciting places in Frederick.

“Good food is always worth the trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2011

On a random Tuesday night in November we decided to drive from Arlington, VA to Frederick, MD to try what we heard was a new tasty little gem. When we walked in we were warmly greeted and taken to our table which afforded us views of the kitchen. Our waitress was extremely helpful and professional.
We started off our venture with a glass of champagne and a lovely cheese platter. The cheese was fresh and came with a delicious house made spread. Both my friend and I loved the sound of the Sheeps Milk Agnolotti that was accompanied by artichokes, marcona almonds and garlic. This dish was phenomenal and had us each wanting more! For my entree I had the WK Corned Beef sandwich which was brined in house for 10 days. It came on a delicious bun with a mound of Corned Beef that had tons of flavor. In addition was a scrumptious apple slaw and house-made 1000 island dressing. Caraway tots finished off the plate which tasted like eating a nibble of rye bread. My friend went with the Pork Belly which was served on a light pumpkin puree. It was extremely tasty! Our experience at the Wine Kitchen was enjoyable and so worth the drive. Will definitely be back in the near future.

“A Gem for Creekside Fall Dining (former Volt sous chef is the executive chef)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2011

The curry cashews, truffle dinner rolls, and marinated olives were all delicious. If I had to select only one - go with the olives. The scallops and pork belly were excellent choices for main meals. The wine flights is an excellent way to go to try a variety of wines. We left with four bottles from the wines had from the wine flights.

Our waitress Chloe was awesome - exceptional service and personality.

The best part - no wait or reservation like Volt; outstanding food, prices and service. We will be back in the future for another wonderful dining experience.

“Fine Dining finally comes to the Creek”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2011

Coolness finally meets Frederick's Creekside as The Wine Kitchen raises the bar on combining exceptional dining in a hip space. On the previously underutilized Creekside in Downtown Frederick- the Wine Kitchen hits the mark on providing an inventive menu with new wines. Chef Adam Harvery, formerly of Volt and owners Jason Miller and Michael Mercer are stepping up the bar on what it means to offer great food and wine without the noise or pretense.
