Description: Chef Bryan Voltaggio's modern American diner offers affordable all-day meals in a former Frederick car dealership transformed by clever design and raw, natural materials into an open, airy space, with a long counter fronting an open kitchen; its menu elevates the comfort-food canon, while adult beverages include boozy milkshakes as well as wine, beer and cocktails. Signature dishes include Fried Chicken with Buttermilk Biscuits, Meatloaf with Mushroom Gravy and Duck Fat Fried Potatoes.

“Good but Lacking Ambiance”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

This restaurant was rated very highly on trip advisor so we ate here while visiting the area.
Being in maryland I was disappointed that there was not even a crab cake on the menu.
The fried chicken and burgers were amongst the best ever but the service was very spotty. Dirty dishes sat on table ( outside) very long and flies were everywhere!
The flies were a serious nuisance.
Good but will probably not return.

“Consistently Excellent”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

This has to be one of my favorite restaurants ever. I have eaten here over a dozen times and each time, the food is superb. For lunch, I especially love the fried chicken, but for breakfast I highly recommend the cinnamon waffle or the breakfast burrito. I can't wait for Brain Voltaggio to open his (closer) restaurant in Ashburn.

“Average, inflexible, and overpriced”
Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

Drove from Gaithersburg because we heard good things about this place. Didn't expect the diner feel but no big deal. We got there at 11:20 and we were only given lunch/brunch menus. I asked if we could have lunch menus and was told lunch doesn't start until 11:30. By the time she took our order it was past 11:30 but whatever. Wedge salad was ok at best...the blue cheese was not thick at all which is not my preference. Everyone else got eggs and they looked microwaved. Got nickel and dimed for everything. Want toast with your omelette be prepared to pay extra. Not horrible but certainly not worth the drive or the price. Pretty disappointed to be honest.

“Excellent food, snotty first impression”
Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

We have been to this restaurant more times than I can count - servers are great, food is great. However we have never been treated well by the snotty first impression. Why don't they hire someone to seat their customers who can smile and has a personality. Very negative first impression.

“Not impressed”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

I had some family visiting from Florida last week, and decided to take them to Family Meal for lunch. Among 5 people we ordered 4 sandwiches, 1 order of fries, 2 desserts and we all drank water, I ended up paying over $70 for it! The Fried Green Tomato sandwiches weren't even good, all we could tase was the cheese spread they put on it.

There were some problems witht eh service too, we all got different menus (1 breakfast menu, 2 dinner menus and 2 lunch menus). It wasn't until after we ordered that our server decided to tell us about the special, which was hotdogs left over from an event the day before (for $9) and didn't ask us what we wanted to drink.

Overall, I think this place needs some re-tooling. How can you be a family diner with non-family friendly prices?
