Owner description: The Verde Valley Archaeology Center is an archaeological educational and research facility located in Camp Verde, Arizona. We have a modest exhibit and display area. Our knowledgeable volunteers can provide information on the prehistoric cultures of the area as well as the Native American history of the Verde Valley. On Thursdays and Fridays, the Coconino National Forest Artifact Identification Project Team meets. Members of the team can show you what we are doing and provide some background on the artifacts you will see. The Museum and Gift Shop is open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (closed Sundays and Mondays and Major Holidays).

It is a small place, but it has so much information. It is worth a stop if you plan on visiting many parks in the Verde Valley.

Interesting little museum. With all the fantastic archaeological sites in the Verde Valley, that is just enough. Seems like things are really happening there. I made a just a quick stop to look around but the people were helpful and knowledgeable. Make this your first stop if are taking in the archaeological sites. Conveniently located right in "downtown" Camp Verde. it may be a bit hard to find since it is deeply buried (no pun intended) at the back of a strip mall -- just look for Thank's a Latte
Espresso Cafe on the main street and it is just behind it (having breakfast at the cafe is where I heard about the museum).
