“Total Dump!!”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

We were severely disappointed with our room!

Our troubles began, trying to get into the room as the door latch wasn't working right and it took 4 tries just to open the door. At first it just seemed plain (no fridge, coffee pot, No room safe at a casino Hotel!) Then it just went down from there. There was a small table that looked cheap and was wobbly, and the chairs looked like they were chewed on by a dog. One of the chairs was broken and the other I was afraid to sit in. There were just 2 lights on opposite ends of the room and not bed-side lamp... Cheap! The sliding glass door also had a security bar as well as a lock so we wondered if we were even safe in the room.

The bathroom door jam was peeled away from the wall and there was broken plaster on the walls. The bathroom was poorly painted and had paint on the sockets and switches. The bathroom door was just ugly (peeled paint, shabby, looked totally out of place) and the door knob almost fell off. What made this place feel like a total dive was the combination shampoo / conditioner / shower gel dispenser adhered to the back of the shower... i felt like I was in a back woods truck stop!

The pool was heated and was OK, There was a path from the back door to the pool that would have been nice if the landscaping wasn't completely over-grown.

Ok we now have to address the staff problem :(
When we checked it the clerk was complaining about how she was the only one and "everyone was checking in at once"...there were 3 of us in the lobby. She also complained about having to put together out wine package we had purchased. Being no manager on a Saturday we just chose to move on. On check out the staff was uninterested in how our room or stay was and just said to fill out a complaint card!

In conclusion this place was over priced and was worse than a motel 6 on a bad day! Please do NOT come here until they fix this stuff as it is a total waste of money!

Room Tip: Super 8 down the street is nicer

we recently toured the Casinos in the northerm part of the state. this was one of the stops on the"tour". i paid extra for the Wine Down Package, expecting to have a cold bottle of wine waiting in the room. when we got there the girl at the front desk handed me a brown paper bag with a couple of "juice glasses" in it and a voucher for me to take to any of the Casion bars and get my wine. When i got to the bar, i asked the bartender what wines were available. she stated anything you want. i asked for a Zinfindel and was told she had a Beringers!! i did not travel all through the state to get a Beringer, i can get that at Walgreens!!! i ended up getting a local wine and was very disappointed! the hotel looked like an old Motel 6 with the labels redone. i was greatly disappointed with the whole place. the only good thing was the Casino, since it gave us a little money and we had T-Bone Tuesday at the Buffet. great steak, but i will not be staying there again.

We stayed here overnight as a stop off on our way back to the airport as it was midway. Great value for money. The buffet dinner and breakfast was great with loads to choose from. Wish we had more time and had found it sooner. You don't have to be a gambler to enjoy this place.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not near the air con room

The hotel doesn't look like much. Especially when you go to the back to get your room. We thought that it looked trashy. And it does on the outside. Could use some work there. But the room surprise us. It was very nice, with a balcony. The beds slept well. Not fancy, but I'm not planning on living there.

We had hoped for a fun night in the casino, a good dinner, and a quiet, relaxing room. Unfortunately we were 0-3. The room looked okay at first, but once we settled in, the flaws appeared. The A/C made a racket when it was running. Obviously an old unit - probably from when the motel was first built. We had a balcony that promised a nice view of the mountains but when we went outside the lingering, permeating cigarette smoke smell from previous smokers (over many years) drove us back inside. We tossed and turned all night due to the A/C noise.
This motel badly needs an update!! Wonder where all the $$ made in the casino is going?

The hotel is NOT connected to the Casino, which was not a big deal for us; however, I think it is important for people to know that. There is a shuttle bus to take you to and from the casino. The rooms are not luxurious by any means, but functional and nice enough. The pillows are awful, so bring your own, but the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices from hot to cold. However, the front desk attendants were not friendly, AT ALL. These individuals are the first impression of the hotel and they disappointed big time. If we had not booked the room via an online website, we would have probably left based on customer service.

There is a pool, which was functional and in good shape. The casino has lots for the entire family. Three areas to eat, bowling, arcade, and kids quest (daycare). All in all, we will probably stay again in the future.

Room Tip: if you do not high maintenance and ok with mediocre rooms then it will be fine.

We only stayed one night and had almost everything we needed. We had really looked forward to the pool and hot tub but found both to scary to use. My husband thought they were going for a "Soup Theme" as the small pool seemed to be filled with chicken broth, but the hot tub was more like split pea soup. We were very disappointed by that, The very polite front desk person said the cloudy pool was caused by so many people swimming with sun screen on but just made a face and said she sure wouldn't recommend the Hot Tub. When we got into our room there was a poor little yappy scared dog that the irresponsible owners left alone next door to us. We listened to constant barking hoping they had just run out for dinner but at the two hour point we finally called the front desk. The front desk must have had a cell phone number for the guests who were likely at the casino because they appeared back in less than a hour ......PISSED OFF. They were now obnoxious themselves all night! Again, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff friendly and the breakfast better than most offered.
