Loved our stay at the Fairy. Location was great. Usually had pool to ourselves and nice garden. Pilar was great to deal with responding very quickly and the only problem we had while there was sorted within a couple of hours even though it was a Saturday. Would highly recommend.
The Fairy is a lovely villa in a fanatastic location, close to the beach and "Arenal" bars and restaurants. The bedrooms are nice and spacious, with beautiful sea views, the bathrooms are a good size, the kitchen is well equipped, with plenty of glasses and crockery, and there is plenty of storage throughout. It has been recently redecorated, and the kitchen cupboards and oven replaced. The shared and private gardens are well tended, and the pool is fantastic for children as you can see them from the comfort of the patio area, and it's also a good size for swimming.
We had a really great holiday, and as we know Javea very well after holidaying there every year for the past 15 years, it was nice to be so close to the beach and all it has to offer. There were, however, a few issues that marred the beginning of our holiday, all of which could have been avoided. So this doesn't become a long essay, I'm just going to list them here:
only 3 beds made up on arrival, though 5 of us were staying; no spare bedding provided so had to wait til 9.30pm for bedding to be delivered. not ideal when my children had been awake since 3am
The cot requested was hidden away in a cupboard, and when we finally got it down there is no mattress provided, just a very hard base I wouldn't expect anyone to sleep on, let alone my 1 year old baby. Luckily there was a spare duvet I was able to use as an impromptu mattress!
The kitchen and bathrooms were clean but the flooring throughout was filthy dirty
No cover on the sofa. It looked shocking and the throw provided to cover it is too small
No tea towel or cloth for wiping up. NO TOILET PAPER!!! Surely these are all small but obvious requirements in a holiday rental??
Toaster not working, sun lounger on upstairs terrace broken, several lightbulbs not working
No spare gas canister provided, so when the gas for the boiler ran out we had to organise our own. Had we not been familiar with the system and known where to buy the gas, this would not have been so easy
Only 1 set of keys is provided for the villa, which makes it difficult to gain access when several adults are out and about during the day. It would also have been useful if we had been told the access code for the gate (eventually we found this out from one of the other residents)
Lots of small issues, which although didn't ruin our holiday, were an annoyance. I suspect if the agent were more local (and not based over an hour away in Valencia) many of these concerns could be better managed and overseen.
I would, nonetheless, still recommend the Fairy, but would just say, be prepared for a few niggles. And to bring your own toilet paper!!!
