We spent 2 weeks at Annabella Diamond and had a great time. We are a family of 10 ranging from 8 years old to 70+. The hotel is approximately 95 kilometres (1.5 hours transfer by coach/minibus) from Antalya airport. Once we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed by very efficient and friendly reception staff. This was something we experienced from all the staff during our stay. The hotel is handily placed between Alanya to the East and Mavnagat and Side to the West. All three offer great shopping opportunities to test out your "haggling". There are public buses running every few minutes past the hotel and very reasonably priced (approximately £1.50 to Alanya - 30 km). There is also a car rental based at the hotel. The rooms were great with a double bed, a single bed and a fold out bed for our second child. The only negative was the air conditioning was not as efficient as it could have been. It only worked when you were in the room as you are only given one door key and this is needed for power supply. Our cleaning lady was lovely and left beautiful designs using towels and flowers on our beds. I would strongly recommend getting a room on the poolside of the hotel. We had a lovely view of the pool and of the beach and sea just beyond. The pool also had 3 water slides that kept us all busy during our stay. The beach was great - lovely sand and a gentle slope in to the Mediterranean. We found there was a huge selection of food on offer for breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant (apparently there was at lunch as well) and we used the outside snack bar for lunch. There were also different dishes being cooked on a bbq in the outside area and theme nights - a Turkish night each week and we also had an Italian evening. There is also an A La Carte restaurant but we did not use this as the food was superb in the main restaurant. The evening entertainment did vary in quality. There were shows based on audience participation and the most stunning were from the professional dance groups that came in. All of these were hosted by the "Animation Team" - the entertainment crew. Led by Baran, the team worked tirelessly to provide activities for everyone. During the day, we took part in many of these - pool games, darts, water aerobics, water polo, yoga, step aerobics. There were a number of others like beach volleyball and boccia. The Animation team that organised and ran these were outstanding. They were very friendly and approachable and spoke many languages (we found we were the only British family in the hotel with many guests from Germany and Russia). We would like to thank all the team for making our stay so enjoyable: Baran, Erhan, Talha, Nastya, Ruya, Deniza and Josin the resident DJ. But we have to give a special mention for Micha (Michaela) who we are all very fond of. There is also a miniclub for the younger children with organised activities everyday and a mini disco before the main show in the evening. The 2 oldest children in our group took part in the activities everyday as did some of the adults and it was easy for people to relax by the pool or on the beach if they didn't want to take part. The 2 youngest children did some of the activities and spent the rest of the time in the pool, coming out only to eat!! We found all the staff exceedingly friendly in a very clean and well run hotel. Overall we had a great holiday and found it the most relaxing one we have had for years. We would recommend Annabella Diamond without reservation.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the pool side of the hotel rather than the road side. Also a room on floor 2 or above so you can have a greater view.

I spent my holiday with a family of ten and we all really enjoyed it. Although the difference in ages we all managed to find something to do. During the day there are lots of activities run by the Animation Staff going on during the day, these activities included something for everyone to do. THANK YOU. SPECIAL RUYA FOR BEING HELPFULL. As well as the activities run by the Animation staff there are lots of activities going on around the site. The hotel has amazing facilities including a beautiful pool with slides, a beach next to the pool, areas to relax... The food at the hotel is nice and includes food for everyone and from different cultures and it sometimes relates to the evening entertainment such as Turkish night. The evening entertainment is extremely fun and allows people to see many different things for example comedy, dancing... There also is a mini disco at night for the younger children and during the day there is a mini club for the younger children to go to.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front over look the pool and the beach.

I visited Turkey for the first time with my wife & 2 children aged 8 & 9 and we stayed here for 10 nights.

Firstly the negatives:-

An exceedingly long transfer to the hotel from the airport meant that we didn't arrive at the hotel until 1:30pm in the morning & we had an ok experience checking in at reception. Tired & hungry, we thought that being an all inclusive hotel we might have been offered a snack (which we weren't) but we were supplied with 4 courtesy bottled mineral waters in the room. They failed to inform us that we had a welcome meeting the following day with a rep so we only heard about this after the event by a 'sorry we missed you note'. The hotel seemed to be geared up mostly for German & Russian tourists and saying that there was only one other British family staying there when we were there so perhaps no surprise.

Now for the positives:-

The hotel was fantastic. It was clean & it was run very efficiently. All the staff were very attentive & reception was always manned.
Food was superb. The kitchens were operated in a well organised manner & plenty of choice was given. Some of the reviews we read said breakfast was the same each day but this is unfair to say as there was so much variety and cooked food was made as you waited. the bread supplied was very fresh & tasty. Mineral water was unlimited. The Turkish coffee was superb. Ice cream also was superb. At lunchtime you could eat in the dining hall & you could eat at the outside snack area which we had most days. Evening meal you could eat in the dining hall or outside by the pool and you could choose the have some food from inside and/or try the nightly bbq which we would recommend. We cant rate this more highly. There was always a fish option & about 4 different types of meat dishes such as beef, chicken & turkey. Rice & wheat was lightly spiced so the flavours made all the food very tasty. The bbq dishes included tuna steaks, chicken kebabs & lamb. Desserts were great - all different types, they all had to be tried! Re soft drinks, Coca Cola was served, none of this syrupy cola stuff you get elsewhere. The Rose wine was good too. They have a Turkish night once a week which is really good, all the food is geared around authentic Turkish cuisine.
The hotel had an indoor & outdoor pool. Both were great. The outdoor pool had 3 waterslides which kept all the children & some adults entertained. The animation team worked hard to keep those residents who took part in activities busy. It was good that they didn't insist on unwilling sunbathers to join in, only those who wanted to did.By the way, if you don't secure your sunbeds & parasols by 8am, you may be disappointed. We failed to secure a parasol on the first day - big mistake & you guessed it, we got sunburnt.
The hotel's beach is great too. There was a beach party held one day on there & that was well organised, including snacks provided & a foam machine!
Accommodation was good. On arrival we noticed that our patio door didn't lock but the maintenance team repaired it within the hour of reporting the problem. The maids were brilliant. Usually they arranged our bed sheets into some sort of design or shape which was great. One day they even decorated it with flowers!
The spa was great too. Would recommend a Turkish bath.

I think the 5 star rating was deserved especially for the food & facilities

Useful pointers:-

If holidaying at this hotel, take Euros. If you venture outside, Lira seemed best. You can use both at the airport. If you want to try the watersports operated on the hotel's beach, pay for them in Lira, you'll get a better deal than Euros.
If you venture out, hiring a car was cheap. It cost 47 Euros per day with all ins included for a basic 4 door model. Petrol was more expensive than in the UK. Take care though, some drivers like to undertake you & for some reason they flash each other a lot at night. I never got to know why due to the language barrier!
Try to learn a few basic phrases of Turkish. The locals & staff really appreciate this & react to it!

Room Tip: Choose a sea view. It overlooks the beautiful pool. Don't choose a room overlooking the road. Its the main road & its very busy!

I spent my holiday together with my husband, and we really enjoy it. The hotel is very very nice, the rooms are very comfortable, very clean. The pool is the best, beach is on few steps from the pool and everything you need is next to you. During the day and night the animation team of the hotel is taking care of the guest amusement..and it's never boring.
The beach is very nice, with sand.
There was a variety of foods, the hygiene on the restaurant and bars was at the highest level. Spa center of the hotel is excellent, you must try Turkish bath.
If we go again in Turkey for sure we'll stay in this hotel.
The only thing that was not on the expected level is the poor wi-fi.

Room Tip: rooms on higher floors with sea view

I stayed here with my girlfriend for a week on 7th July 2014. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. It was our first time visiting Turkey and we were not disappointed. Hotel was modern and very clean throughout. The rooms were nice. Maids done a fantastic job and shaped the towels into lovely swans (i think a tip helps). There was plenty of food daily. I am a fussy eater and I always found something I liked everyday. There is a main restaurant which have plenty of options and there is a also a snack bar outside with chips, burgers, chicken etc at lunch time. The entertainment team were excellent and very friendly. Plenty of activities going on throughout the day for adults and children. There are 3 slides which the kids love! The pool is a good size and very warm. The beach joined onto the back of the hotel is very nice to have a drink and watch the sunset. The restaurant and bar staff were also faultless and could not do enough for us. The woman in the market and souvenir shop is a credit to the hotel, she couldn't be more helpful or hardworking. The hotel is not in walking distance of any real atmosphere. We went Into Alayna twice, once for the World Cup final and the atmosphere was fantastic, as much as the hotel was lovely it was nice to get out and see some more! It is only a 20 minute bus journey to go into alanya and is only 9 lira for 2 people which is very cheap! Our only downfall for this hotel was the reception staff. On our first day I queried about meeting our rep to discuss excursions and day trips etc as he was half an hour late to our appointment to which they replied "come back later, we are busy" after asking again they said we had to ring the turkish number from our room phone which I was not happy about so was forced to phone from my mobile which cost me. On our 5th day we had a quad safari trip planned and we were scheduled to be picked up at 2pm. Our rep stated we should check with reception to see if the pickup time has changed the day before. They day before we asked reception if any messages had been left for our room number regarding the quad safari and without even checking he replied "no, no change" so we asked again later on in the day and he said exactly the same. Yet the next day when we were picked up the time HAD been changed to 1:30pm and the hotel were notified. We were extremely disappointed as we paid for this trip and nearly missed it because the reception staff could not even be bothered to check for us. We also had to check our transfer pickup time for our journey home which again we were told to ask reception to help by our rep. We brung our paperwork to the reception desk asking for assistance. The same member of staff turned his back and asked another colleague to deal with us. But even then all they done was dial the transfer number gave us the phone and walked off not saying anything. Every time we asked for assistance they made it seem a chore. Although the reception staff were disappointing we would come back due to the excellent service by all other staff and because the hotel in itself is lovely.
