“A beautiful Apartment in a beautiful location.”
Reviewed 27 July 2011 for a stay in August 2010

The owners are so helpful and made the booking easy. The whole Nicholas Gate complex is impeccable, very well maintained and clean. The apartment is fantastic for a family - very spacious and made our stay very comfortable. The pool is lovely there was never any problems getting a sunlounger, as there were always more than enough, and everyone who is staying in the complex were very friendly. The town is a short walk away with many bars and restaurants and you do not get bombarded by people trying to drag you in. There are also many trips to book in the town to suit all your needs (would recommend Jeep Safari, boat trips and Turkish Night on the beach) We loved our holiday so much that we booked to go again as soon as we arrived home. I recommend this apartment highly, it ticks all the boxes. Many thanks to the owners who couldn't do more for us, we love your apartment. The Beddows Family

“A Perfect Choice”
Reviewed 8 July 2011 for a stay in June 2011

Check In was a minor faff. We didn't arrive until around 1 AM and had a little difficulty getting the management company who had the keys to understand us. Fortunately our taxi driver stepped in and we were in around 15 minutes later. That's it as far as negatives are concerned, everything else is 5 out of 5.

Location, perfect as far as we were concerned. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk into the village centre. There are 4 main routes which take you, more or less, to top, middle and bottom of the main "strip". Granted, they are all slopes and can be a bit of a puff coming up if you're not a bright young thing but the one on the right as you leave the complex is pretty gentle. Obviously too, this is a first floor apartment so it's not suitable for folk with mobility problems anyway. Directly opposite is a little bar, the Castle Inn, run by Mehmet assisted by his wife and wee twin blondie girls who I won't insult by miss-spelling their names. Don't worry the Castle isn't an all night party zone, it's just a quiet wee place that's usually sound asleep by half 10.

Comfort, we just had the 2 bedroom apt for a fortnight so can't comment on the studio but the photo's look nice. In the apartment there were 3 of us for one week and 2 for the second and there was never a problem with space. The double room is quite big and airy with 2 large windows. The beds, though single, are perfectly comfortable and are easily moved. The single room is small but also has 2 windows so light and air aren't a problem. There is aircon in the double room, lounge and kitchen. The single room has no aircon but the kitchen unit is directly opposite the door so if you leave it open you can benefit from the kitchen aircon. To be honest though, in the 2 years I've been to Hisaronu, although it has been plenty hot during the day I have found the night-time temperature to be very comfortable and haven't felt an urgent need for aircon. The lounge is easily big enough to have the sofa bed down and still move around without trouble. The kitchen is well equipped although there is no oven. The washing machine is very handy and allows you to minimise the amount of clothes you need to take out there. Unlike home, every day was a good drying day too. The bathroom doesn't have a bath. It does, however, have an excellent shower with enough water pressure to pin you to the floor. The best comfort features for me were the 2 balconys. They are on opposite sides of the apartment meaning they get direct sunlight at different times. The smaller kitchen balcony gets the sun in the morning when it's not too hot. It was a great spot to sit, have a coffee, read a book and watch the world go by the little tree island crossroads. Later on it was also a good spot to check out if Mehmet had a queue at the bar before you nipped over for a beer. On the other side the main balcony, overlooking the pool, got pretty hot in the afternoon. Also, from here, a head turn to the right gave you a very nice view of the sunset in the evening.

We had no problem with the with the cleanliness of the apartment when we arrived. As we were there for 2 weeks we booked a halfway clean and although they did a perfectly good job we probably won't bother with it next time as we don't make much mess and it only takes a few minutes to run a brush and mop (both of which are provided) over the place yourself. There is/are spare bedding/towels in the apartment and replacements were delivered after the first week.

Service. If this means the service provided by the owners then First Class. Booking, easy, lots of local info provided. All coducted in a friendly and unfussy fashion. The offer of arranged transfers for £80 return is the going rate for taxi door to door (ok you might get lucky and find it for a fiver less if you've the time to be bothered). If you don't mind a longer transfer time and the possibility of a hike to and from the drop-off / pick-up you can get a shuttle bus for considerably less.

Value. Well, I've got to be a bit cagey here as we're planning to go back again next year and I don't need the price to go up. So, I'm going to say that the deal for 2 weeks in June in Nick Gate G2 represented excellent value for money.

Cheers Cheryl
Had a smashing holiday and looking forward to the next one

All the best
