“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed 7 February 2012

Me and my boyfriend stayed here in early October 2011.
Originally booked in for the Marcan, (prenonced 'Marjan') the hotel's sister across the road. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find we were booked in for the slightly better looking Telmessos.

We had been recommended this hotel and location by friends and so we knew to expect a very good, cheap, clean no thrills hotel for the money you pay and we weren't disappointed.

The hotel sits at the top of a steep hill so therefore I wouldn't recommend this hotel for older people or people with mobility issues. Aside from that, the location couldn't be better. Less than a five minute walk away is the main road of Hisaronu, where you will find an array of restaurants to keep you satisfied for very good prices. (We ate like kings everyday on a low budget) On the main road there's a regular bus service that takes you into Fethiye, and Olu Deniz.

Positives- Staff are helpful and friendly, especially the cleaning and bar staff. Beautifully, well maintained hotel. Food is of a good standard, keep in mind breakfast is basic as is expected with Turkish Breakfasts. Excellent location. The hotel dog, Deco :)

Negatives - the bars do stay open to the early hours, but apart from one occasion they turned the music down as it got later. However we didn't pay for air con as it is extra so our balcony door and windows were kept open and we could still hear it. Didn't keep us up though the heat did!

Would deffo go again, lovely place, would reccomend to anyone.

What a fantastic Hotel :)
Myself & my partner would defiantly return to this Hotel, We had an Amazing time here. The location of the hotel from the Main Street is literally 5 Minutes away from the hotel, so if you don’t like or Cannot walk too far, This hotel is perfect!
The Turkish BBQ Night around the pool area was so good, The atmosphere was brilliant!
The Bar staff are really friendly & help you with anything.
The Pool is quite a decent size & there are plenty of sun loungers to pick from.
Also the Wildlife is great, We saw Hogs, Turtles & Plenty of Lizards & Birds. Beautiful Creatures.

The only problem we had was the Cleaners didn’t clean our room for two days, but we told the guys at the Reception & it got cleaned that day :)

People on here always complain about how loud the Music is, Its a Holiday resort of course there is going to be music until late, Don’t fault it on the music!

And last but not least, The View! Well what a view we had overlooking the Main Street & all the Mountains! :) This was especially nice when we had the Hotels Photographer snap some shots of us.. They came out Beautiful!

Overall - FANTASTIC!! Would Defiantly return..

Hi everyone,

Firstly I would like to start by saying, like most of you, I read through a lot of reviews before going on holiday. It's helpful to get other people's opinions on where you're about to be staying for the next week or two. We read some great reviews and a lot of not so good reviews. And of course, its the bad ones that stick in your head.

I am 24 and I went on holiday with my girlfriend to this hotel. We were nervous to say the least. On arrival we went to reception, filled in a form and a nice guy took our bags to our room. Good start! We went out for a few drinks and came back to the hotel to.... SILENCE! We expected there to be a party with loud music blaring (which we wouldn't have really minded because we are young after all) until 3am. This was not the case. We had a great sleep.

We woke up the next day and went to the pool which is brilliant btw. It's clean and full of laughter. The bar serves up a decent lunch menu and drinks. We got a sun lounger pretty easily and lay back and listened to the bar music which featured a lot of UB40 and Queen. Result! Queen are my favourite band of all time!

Anyway, to cut a long story short. We loved this hotel. The staff could not do enough for you. I mean, these guys work their as* off. They work from the moment the pool opens right up until the bar closes. I couldn't speak highly enough of them. There isn't this rediculously loud music playing till 3am either.

The rooms were clean and big enough. You did have to put your key in to reception if you wanted your room cleaned BUT that didn't really matter. You were out by the pool most of the day anyway.

The only thing we disliked about coming to Hisaronu was the traders on the main strip. They just don't leave you alone. But to be honest, we should have expected that anyway. We were in a holiday resort and they have to make a living. We did manage to work out that if you walk on the middle of the road, you wouldn't get hassled so much. The road gets closed to traffic at night.

I would recommend going to a bar called Tropical Karaoke Bar at the bottom of the road from the hotel. It is a great place to go whether you are with family, friends or your partner. It really is for everyone and what's more, Efes lager is only 4TL! They also do buy one cocktail and get another one free for 10TL. The staff here are great aswell. They want people to have a great time so I would encourage you to let your hair down here.

There are so many places to eat in Hisaronu. You could stuff your face for as little as £6! I would recommend going to Shine. It's an indian restaurant, again, down the road from the hotel. The food was delicious! We did use the hotel restaurant once. It was nice enough but we prefered to eat outside and try different places.

So to sum up. The best advice i'd give is to look at everyone's reviews because everyone does have different experiences. However, some people do expect too much when they travel to hotels especially hotels with low ratings. Your holiday is what you make it. You can pick up on little things and let it ruin your holiday or like me, be more open minded and enjoy your holiday and make it as fun as you can. I personally think 2 stars for this hotel does the hotel and their staff an injustice. They are a great bunch of people and try to make your holiday experience the best it can be.

As for the resort itself and local people? An absolute pleasure to be around!

I hope this helps anyone who was worried or undecided.

Cheers!

this hotel is lovely, but my god how loud do they have to play the music every night until 3am, we unfortunately had a poolside room, big mistake! apart from that the pool is lovely, we always got a sun lounger but we did see people putting towels on beds and then disappearing, there is also a little click going on with older people that have obviously been going to this hotel for years and think they own it, every day we had this horrible old guy jump right into the pool as we were sunbathing and splashed us, but when his 'friends' were sitting in the spot we were he gently slid into the pool, what an old fool, strutted around like he thought he was 21, must have been 70+. i dont know if i would go back to this hotel because of that but the views around this area were unbelieveable, mountains all around the hotel. breakfast was typical turkish food, olives, cheese, meat, water melon, cereal, yoghurt and bread and jams, also boiled eggs on some days. very nice spread. we took water to our rooms and juice etc and we were never stopped and searched, but possible would be in high season, we went on 30th august for a week. short walk into town and all the shops and bars are there, if you want any trips go and see alibaba, hes such a nice guy and gave us very good deals, the safari trip is a must do if you dont mind water fights (take a water gun or you will be lost) included in that is a trip to the gorge, the mud baths and the ruins, it cost about £12 each, very long day in a jeep and very tired at the end of the day, but the drivers tirelessly kept joking after a good 12 hour day, then they wash all the jeeps at a stop off at a cafe on the way home, then start all over again at 8am the next day. the boat trip was good but they tell you the max on board would be 49 people, there were more like 80 on ours and if you want to sunbathe on the top deck its a little crowded, check how many will be on your boat before you book. paragliding is very scary but unbelieveable when you are in the sky, quadbiking was excellent, that was the most expensive trip, it was £18. you would be better taking english pounds with you as you get a better deal when booking trips and the rate to change them over while there was 2.75tl, so very good rate too.

Room Tip: if you like loud music, then get a poolside room

We all know that having gone to marcan and tellmessos we would've gotten a cheap deal. So how come a lot of folks are moaning about it. Seriously don't listen to the bad reviews. Do your research and you will be fine. My boyfriend and I stayed here in August. The hotels are practically right next to each other with a small road seperating them. The reception is based outside Marcan. Before we went I had read that it was nicer in telmessos and easier to get food/drinks in. So when we arrived we greeted the receptionist with a smile, asked her name. And we made the effort although we were shattered. She said we were in Marcan and I let out a slight sigh, she then put us in Telmessos. We were happy with our room, it was basic. But fine.It is minutes from the town centre and the massive hill- is just a small incline and even when we stuffed our faces it still wasn't difficult to walk up! I'd suggest some folks do some exercise! We had a problem with our shower it was leaking so we politely told reception that they had a leak and we didnt want it to damage the bathroom. Bear in mind they had a backlog of repairs they sent the repair man out to us straight away. So manners is the key. The repair man- bless him took the shower out and re-sealed it. He did this while we were out. This hotel runs throughout the seasons so give them a break, nothing lasts forever.Things will break. We managed to bring food and drink in no problem. We would take our rubbish back out with us though and put it in the big bins on the way to town. We didnt spend much time at the hotel. It was cheaper and more pleasant to eat out. We hardly bathed by the pool. We chose to go to billys beach. We got picked up every and dropped back every day about 3. This was fabulous for us because the beach and sea is beautiful. On to settling bill at the end. Keep your receipts its as simple as that. Oh and whoever said it was ridiculously distortionate for drinks, this is not true. It worked out to about £1 for a big bottle of coke and 60p for a big bottle of water. The music was played loud one night and not all night at all. The music you can hear is from the town. Its a lively place but not full of trash.

Dont listen to any of the bad reviews, this place is fantastic, the staff couldn't do enough for us. They are very strict about bringing your own food and water into your rooms but why shouldn't they be, they sell everything you need at a cheap enough price and they are trying to make a living!!! I don't reccomend going in October we have just returned from here and had 5 days solid rain!!! and believe me....when it rains....it really rains!!! Rooms very clean and the maids are lovely. There's plenty of places for eating and drinking, we eapeciallt reccommend a resteraunt called "The festival" (book early to avoid dissapointment) Ready steady cook is also a great place to eat, to be honest we never had a bad meal anywhere and all very reasonably priced. This village and Olu Deniz is a fantastic place to visit for eating and drinking....not much for the kids to do. Excursions are very reasonably priced...barter the prices, we managed to go on a sunset cruise which lasted 5 hours, this included tea on board and a beach fire/singing/dancing all for 5 pound each!!! I dont have anything bad to say about this place at all and we would 100% return, altough someone mentioned that this was turning all inclusive next season

Room Tip: ask for a pool view room, they all have the best views

1st of all I'd like to say, don't listen to all the reviews on here! Me and my Boyfriend booked this hotel for my 21st Birthday and was abit worried from reading the reviews after we had booked it! We woke up our first morning to the tempreture been 38C the pool was big and clean, and the views are amazing! The rooms was yes, abit small but who cares, we was happy, all we wanted it for is to get ready in and to sleep! The hotel staff was so friendly and would always say hello and go out of their way to make a customer happy! They was plenty of sun loungers so didn't need to get up early and get one.. Hisoronu town is only 5mins walk with lots of bars, shops, restaurants and clubs. The Turkish are very friendly and don't hassle you as much as most places. I would reccomend the butterfly restaurant for a lovely steak and 'take me out' kebab at the end of a drunken night! Oluo Deniz is only 10 min away in a dolmus which run every 3mins! The hotel bar plays music but we was the ones that was proberly making alot of noise and joining in! Its what ya go on holiday for! It says you cant bring your own food and drink in, like most hotels but with a beach bag can easily sneak them in. Would defo reccomend this hotel and this resort. But if ya dont like music and ya like to moan at every little thing then dont book this hotel.. Overall,, Love the hotel, love the staff, love the resort, love Turkey! See you next year :) :)
