Arrived at 2am Turkish time with two very tired little girls aged 7 and 3. Alev (the owner) was waiting for us, we were taken to our apartment, aircon sorted, bags taken up etc. The apartment was spotless, my two had little sofa beds all made up ready for them in the lounge and we all went straight to bed! Next morning we went to check out the pool etc and immediately got chatting to other guests who were just so friendly it was unreal. The pool is a perfect size, there are plenty of sunbeds - we never got round the pool that early but there were always beds and the food they serve there is really nice. Fatma and Martin who work there are so helpful and were so friendly to all of us, nothing was too much trouble and they adored the children and made such a fuss of them every day which was really nice... The maid service was excellent, they cleaned everyday and made up the beds etc, sheets changed 3 times over 7 days, towels changed as often as you wanted them to be. We went to Alev's Turkish Night which she does most weeks, traditional Turkish BBQ, Belly dancer etc, it was good value and the food was delicious! I am so fussy about where I stay and I would recommend this place 100%, cannot fault it, we are booking to go again next year. The person that wrote the 'realistic' review must have just had a different experience of the Life Apartments to the one that we all did!!!

Despite a previous review 'An Honest Review' by Wonder Woman, I am slightly at a loss as to some of the conclusions this contributor has drawn. In no way does Alev or any of her staff show any preferences to those who booked directly, We booked through Thomas Cook as did a group of people we made very good friends with and EVERYBODY was treated exactly the same. Alev considers her guests as her friends and will do anything and everything to ensure your stay at Life Apartments is comfortable.

The apartments are in an excellent location set back from the main town. If you have been to Icmeler before and managed to go to the market, you will find Life Apartments at the furthest end of the market away from the main town, that may make it seem miles away from the main town but it is actually no more than a fifteen minute or so walk and the taxis back are very reasonable. The slightly uphill location brings a gentle and much needed breeze on very warm days. All the apartments as far as I am aware from people I have spoken to are kept adequately clean with bed linen and towels changed every three or four days. The staff involved in keeping the apartments clean are pleasant and well mannered. The grounds are kept in pristeen condition and you will see Martin watering the plants etc every day. Guests arrive at all times of the day and night and there is always a warm welcome to greet you. No need to worry about getting up early to put your towels on the loungers because there are plenty available any time of the day. Unless you're intending to do some Olympic swimming practice, you will find the pool is an adequate size relevant to the 25 or so aprtments and there is a smaller children's pool too. Staff are up and cleaning the area around the pool and wiping down all the sunloungers etc from as early as 7am a couple of times per week. On the first Thursday evening of our holiday, Alev and her staff provided a lovely, freshly cooked Turkish barbecue dinner, entertainment from a belly dancer and excellent cocktails courtesy of Mehmetali with a dip in the pool at midnight! Why not!

If you fancy holidaying in Turkey, head for Icmeler and look up Life Apartments. I would highly recommend considering staying at Life Apartments and I know the greater majority of people that stayed when we did would do so as well. There were families arriving towards the end of our stay who had clearly previously stayed on more than one occasion and these were treated no different to any of us who were staying for the first time.

So, if you're reading Trip Advisor's reviews to help decide whether or not to visit Life Apartments, don't be put off by negative comments as in the review by Wonder Woman, instead make an informed decision based on the positive reviews you have read previous to this one from me. I say me but this review reflects the opinion of my husband too. The other more positive reviews reflect more accurately how your stay at Life Apartments will be.

A particularly favourite restaurant in the town that I would highly recomend you visit is called Bonjour, the staff there were very friendly and the food is excellent quality and very reasonable. We had several meals there as did other Life Apartment guests after our recommendation. Highly recommend the grilled salmon, lamb shank, T Bone steak and book ahead for the Chateau Briande, mouth is watering just thinking about them!

Have alovely holiday at Life Apartments - we know you will!

Best wishes to Alev, Fatima, Mehmetali, Martin and good luck to Mike now doing his national service as will Mehmetali next year. Thanks to you all for making our stay in Life Apartments so wonderful, hoping to see you all again next year!

Just as a recent previous review of Life apartments, I would support what has been written in order to balance what appear to be over positive reviews of this apartment complex used currently by Thomas Cook. Having just returned form a week long family holiday at these apartments, and having stayed at other apartments in the Icmeler old town area, I can state that these are definately not 3* rated as shown in the Thomas Cook brochure. To start with, they are a fair distance from the town centre, a good 25 minutes down hill walk, which is in near darkness coming through the Market area, as the road is too busy to use to walk alongside. The cleaning of the rooms do need to be mentioned, as had been in the previous review, as I can agree that the cleaners used do not pay too much attention to your room other than emptying the rubbish bins. (We always straightened and folded the bedding). There wasn't a toilet brush to clean the toilet, which as stated, do not have any sort of ventilation. The air condition unit (£35 per week), which is in the bedroom, is situated so as it does not provide enough cold air throughout the apartment, as it is blowing direct at a wall, The top floor rooms are definatety not recommended for anyone who is remotely unfit, as they are a long way up on the 4th floor with no lift! The complex owner (Aliv) does tend to become agitated with guests if anything extra is needed or needs attention (our air con unit didn't work at first), to the point of ignoring them later in the stay. (Unless they spend most of the day and evening spending at the bar it would appear, which was pointed out to us by other guests who had been there longer). Having left for the airport in the mid morning, we did not even receive a good bye from her, even though she knew we were leaving that day as the first pick up, which for Turkey and these types of small, family run businesses is rare.
It was a pleasant holiday otherwise, but as given in a previous review, the fantastic reviews do not truly reflect the standard of the accomodation or the manner of the owner to all her guests. As stated, I have stayed in Icmeler on a number of occasions, and this complex was not a typical standard.

These Apartments are superb 3* and would well outclass some of the more expensive ones lower down in town. The views are brilliant, and yes you do have to walk into the town but for about £2.50 you can get a taxi back up if not returned by a restaurant vehicle. Alev and her staff were brilliant making our stay very much a little bit special. We did some drinking around the bar making so great friends. It was on a couple of occasions after 12 midnight that we ended up in the pool even Alev and her staff joined in . Where else do you see that in a holiday aprtment or hotel. We did fly with Thomas Cook and we were treated the same as those who organised their apartments with Alev. The rooms were clean and tidy and you have to keep them the way you would your own home so no complaints about the 2 cleaners who cleaned our room. Icmeler is a great resort but watch out for the Market across the road , always make sure you get the right sizes b4 you pay and keep your fingers in the kids ears they are disgusting in their language (not all of them). Anyway if you do book here you will enjoy it I am sure. Tavelled Aug 10th to the 24th 2011.

Just home from 2 weeks at Life Aparts and had best holiday ever. The place is spotless, everything about it spells out cleanliness, and the owner Alev makes sure it stays that way, because as she says, not only is it her buisness,it's also her home,Aliv and all her staff work very hard and make you feel very welcome. The aparts are nice and roomy,we were in the one right next to pool and we loved it with it's 3 balconys, the ones higher up get fantastic views. We had some fantastic nights around the bar and made many new friends. All going well we will be back again next year.

Room Tip: all rooms are lovely
