Stayed here as a family of 9 in 3 rooms in July 2013, had a wonderful stay, the rooms...particularly the bathrooms are a little tired, and space was a little tight for us.. 2 adults, teenager and a toddler, but for the amount of time we spent in the room it really didn't matter!. The cleaners do a fantastic job and our room was cleaned daily. Breakfast is scrummy, and we only craved a full English once in 2 weeks...when in Turkey and all that ;-)
Perfect location, and great pool area...although the bed hoggers putting towels out in the middle of the night and not turning up till after lunchtime got a little frustrating!! Staff all friendly and lots of fun.
Was our first time in icmeler and we re- booked within a month of returning, its the perfect resort for families and couples. Has a fantastic charm about it.

Been coming to the Kapmar Hotel for the last five years and would be very disappointed if we couldn't book into our favourite hotel.Murat at reception is so helpful and there is nothing he wouldn't do to help you. .The maids do a fabulous job keeping the rooms in tiptop condition and are always very cheery and polite as are the bar staff.Cant wait to come back again in june and bringing our son and daughter in law with us on holiday for their first time in Icmeler and to enjoy the hospitality at the Kapmar.

My family of four stayed here in July 13 and we have booked again for July 14. As you will see from all the reviews, the best thing about the hotel is the location. It's directly opposite the water fountain in the centre of icmeler. The hotel is a little dated but it clean, tidy and the staff are very helpful and friendly. If you book room only or B/B you will be offered the chance to upgrade. Breakfast is not great but if you are not picky like my hubby then we can safely say you will be ok. Evening meal was mostly very nice but with limited choice. I personally enjoyed this as there was limited food presented but clearly it was being regularly cooked and offered. Sometimes my young children struggled. However for a small charge you could pay an extra cost and eat in the 'a la carte' restaurant (this was located at the side of the hotel open to passing trade0 . It was really nice as they cooked the steak at your table on a hot plate, the kids ordered of the menu but there was no charge because we were half board. We often bought lunch around the pool at lunch time which was reasonably prices and very nice. The pool by the way was very clean. Hard to get a sunbed but hey ho that's like most hotel.....this never bothered us with having little kids as we were often out and about. The pool gets the sun all day. Air con is extra cost and so is the safety deposit box. I think it was about £90 in total for the two last year. I hope this helps. Ps try the Scotia Pub on the first night and they will show you a Turkish night of entertainment. Come out of the hotel, walk about 25 mtrs and turn right. Have fun,].

Visited October 2013 and delay in submitting review due to house move and Christmas.

Oh where to start with Kapmar. Well it's fantastically well situated,a short walk to bars and restaurants, 10-15 minutes stroll to the sea front. Room large with good sized balcony and ample hanging space. Rooms looking a little tired, especially the bathroom and shower which could do with some TLC. Always hot water though with a powerful shower. Maid service was good.

We went half board. Breakfast a little disappointing even by Turkish standards. A sign on the door through to the dining area advertising Scrambled Eggs Every Sunday tells you all you need to know. If they can hard boil hundreds of eggs every day then scrambling a few shouldn't be too much additional work. Rest was as expected, bread to toast, cheese, olives, cereal, salad - quite a limited selection but enough to get by.

Evening meals - well. For the first three evenings we were sat in the restaurant and supplied with a limited choice from the menu, Chicken done about eight different ways, Lamb Skewers, Lasagne. So a good selection and what we chose was very tasty. From night four onwards we were sat in the breakfast area and supplied with a buffet choice which was very limited, a couple of hot dishes, rice, chips. Again all we had was tasty enough but the choice was poor. On a couple of occasions my fiancée' who does not eat red meat was unable to select anything other than mashed potato with salad, hardly the most appetising of meals. That said most evenings had some very nice soup which was always hot and tasty.

Last evening we were again back to the restaurant for a selection from three items from a reduced menu. Seems a little hit and miss and disorganised ?

The food in the main was nice. It was end of season and the number of guests on half board low and reducing thoughout the fortnight. However in our opinion it would have been more beneficial from the hotels point of view to continue to sit us in the restaurant as we did on the first three nights then cook a buffet with the result there was wasted food left at the end of the evening. Surely it would have been better to cook our choice from the menu only?

Desserts, well apart from Ice Cream they were dreadful. The worst being something that resembled congealed wall paper paste that we were presented with on a few occasions. We agreed that a packet of Polycell would probably have the edge on both taste and consistency. We swerved these delights when they were on offer following the first attempt at trying to eat one as it simply glued your jaw together with no redeeming features evident.

Chef was a lovely man, a little scary looking but when we complimented him on his soups it seemed to go down well. It was nice that he ventured out of the kitchen and asked how the meal was. It was however a good job he wasn't around when we were eating the desserts mentioned above as we would have been unable to respond due to the glue we were eating!

Pool area was a good size, beds crammed in as you would expect. We did not stay around the pool as we prefer to get out and about and stay on the beach. This to us highlighted another issue at the hotel. Staff were friendly enough but clearly favoured those that basically stayed at the hotel for the whole holiday. If you stayed by the pool, drank there all night, never went anyway then you are treated like kings. If you don't then your tolerated and nothing else - bit of a shame really.

Icmeler is a nice resort. So much nicer than Marmaris which we found to be dirty and commercialised. You must visit Cafe Vela opposite the hotel. Nice little bar who handed out blankets when the nights were chilly. Cafe Anne's is also very nice, Blondies is a good place to stop. Nice bar down near the beach is Maya, cheapest Effes in town and catches the sun until late in the day.

We also liked Friends bar until one night they brought our change and then before we had the chance to remove it from the table another waiter immediately followed behind the one who had left it and removed it from the table. Now we always left tips in every bar we visited but we like to have the choice rather than it being decided for us. We had been here maybe four time prior to this happening and we did not return after.

If you do a boat trip then we can recommend the Mega Diana. Leaves from Marmaris but they come pick you up from your hotel. It's £25 all inclusive and is exactly that. All drinks and the meal is catered for. They don't skimp on the beer either, continually coming round with Tuborg. That said it's not a booze cruise and caters for the more discerning guest and is an excellent day out.

Visited Turunc by water taxi, market there is small and much better to go to the one in Icmeler. However it's a nice little resort and well worth a trip for the day.

To summarise then. As the title suggests Kapmar is on balance is an average hotel, food on the whole is good but choice is limited. Breakfast is poor. Well situated and clean, rooms fine. Value for money - definitely, we calculated it cost us abut £8.50 per day on half board so you can't quibble with that. Could be so much better with just a little extra effort. Don't bother with the buffet dinner, allow guests to choose from the menu. Improve the breakfast. Tidy up the decor. I'm sure there are many repeat visitors but fail to understand why. There are so many places to visit in the world and Kapmar is not somewhere that should generate customer loyalty to the extent that you would never go anywhere else.

We wouldn't say don't go there, if your familiar with Turkey then you'll know you get what you pay for and Kapmar is no different. You will no doubt get worse elsewhere, but also better. It's an average, middle of the road hotel. We had a nice holiday, enjoyed the resort and the weather for last two weeks in October was hotter than we expected.

Hope the above is off some use, any questions then feel free to ask. If you go, enjoy.

Visited October 2013.

Room Tip: We had a room at the front overlooking Cafe Vela and the square. Would not want one round the other...
