When is a sea view not a sea view? When you book a holiday with Thomson Holidays
I booked holiday for two weeks from 16th September 2013 at the Marti Resort Deluxe Icmeler Turkey. Paid extra for sea view but if anybody thinks this would be a good idea forget it because with Thomson you don’t get a sea view, it’s really a garden view with a very small part of your view the sea. When you complain about this to the Thomson Rep all you get is yes that’s a sea view even when it’s a lot less then 10% of the balcony view, so if you go for a limited sea view you will get no sea view at all.
We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years but unfortunately this was the last time, the reason for this it’s no longer a 5 star hotel it’s now to me a 3 star, since the hotel is now concentrating on all inclusive standards have dropped beyond 5 star quality, and this is not just my opinion as with many other guest staying there over many years who also told me they will not be returning.
The problems are now they sell to people off the street positions on the once private beach
area and then people like us who have paid good money to have a position on the beach,
can’t because the hotel wants to make more money rather then look after the guest staying at the hotel.
The beach tables and loungers are not cleaned at all they are absolutely filthy, sand not raked and rubbished not picked up like it used to be.
Air Condition in room hot not cold had to sleep the two weeks on top of bed with no cloths on
which meant very little good sleep.
Carpet in corridors very dirty need a good clean or changed would be better.
They food standards have drop well below acceptable 5 star standards.
The waiters are now not trained very well.
The Head Waiters are now no help when you complain to them.
The Customer Relations are all about sorting out things after things have gone wrong, many
complaints are left unresolved in a five star hotel it should be attention to detail, stop things
from going wrong in the first place, this hotel is fire fighting, you stop the fire from starting in the
first place not as they are doing trying to put it out after it has started.
