“Pleasant Hotel”
Reviewed 16 May 2011

The Fantasia is a nice hotel although smaller than those we usually stay at. The rooms are well finished having good shower cubicles and the sea view is pleasant. The excellent promenade just outside the hotel leading to Icmeler Resort centre one way or Marmaris the other, is ideal if you like us enjoy a pleasant walk.
The food at the Hotel was rather bland, the cooked breakfast section seemed to consist of unrecognisable strips of meat and vegetables cooked together on most days, the on;ly alternative being boiled eggs but there was a cold section with fruit and limited cereals, however the evening menu was better. I suppose this is a draw back of staying in a smaller hotel (70 rooms).
The head chef was dismissed during our stay so perhaps the menu has been improved, if not the management need to consider the tastes of their customers and provide some european standard dishes such as bacon and fried eggs.
The domestic staffing levels appear to be minimal as the maid on our floor started one end of the floor at 9am each day, finally getting to our room which was the last on the floor at around 5.30pm not the most convenient time as thisalways seemed to co- incide with us retiurning after a day out.
The Hotel swimming pool is in the shade of the hotel so it was little used by the guests during our stay.( last year at another hotel in Turkey I was able to swim every day)
Summary, a nice hotel where we had a pleasant stay but we did eat out several times.

Room Tip: Would suit older travellers.

We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of July 2010. As soon as you enter the hotel you can see super sea view! There are lots of palms at the hotel beach. Once a week there is fruit market near b,y where you can buy different fruits. It takes about 20-30 minutes to reach Marmaris center by bus.

Stayed at Fantasia for a week at the beginning of May. Found the transfer very long after arriving at the airport at 02.10 we didn't arrive in our hotel until 06.15. Bus departed the airport at 03.15 and after a 15/20 min stop half way, made our way to Marmaris and then on to Icmeler, where disappointingly we were the last drop off! The plus point being we arrived in time for breakfast! Very impressed with hotel on first impression and the views were fabulous. Our room was very comfortable and had a nice balcony overlooking the sea. There was a lovely big shower with Lux shampoo/shower gel and Dove liquid soap at the sink, and although there is air conditioning this is timed by the hotel and wasn't on at the beginning of May as it was too early and not warm enough. As a result the nights could sometimes be quite warm in the room although it was a lot cooler when outside. The TV had a few english speaking channels and there was a mini bar which was rather expensive. Advised not to use the fridge for items other than the mini bar items or they would be removed. There is also a restriction on bringing food and drink from outside into the hotel, including water as the hotel want you to purchase from them. Think this may put some people off.
All the staff from reception, waiters, maids were faultless. Everyone was very friendly, attentive and worked extremely hard. The food was plentiful but may not be to everyone's taste. There was always 2 out of 3 choices of fried potatoes, potato croquettes or chips .......for breakfast! And on one morning there was even brussel sprouts! Other cooked breakfast items were: Boiled eggs but always hard, sometimes scrambled eggs, mini sausages continental style, fried peppers, chopped fried ham with onions and tomatoes topped with cheese. There was also a selection of breads, croissants and danish pastries. Cereals, fresh fruit, tinned fruit, yoghurts, fruit juice and water added to the choice as well as a selection of cold meat, cheeses and salad items. Evening meals were quite repetative anad not much choice, but we usually found something to eat. They serve water at meal times free of charge but on a couple of nights we had a bottle of wine which was priced at 33TL.
Used the spa facilities and had a 'medical massage' which was good, but don't agree to the first price offered. We left it til the next day to book it and the price had been greatly reduced. Ingrid who works there was lovely and very friendly. All the treatments are carried out by the 2 guys who work there.
The hotel provides towels for the pool/beach which for a small deposit they issue you with a card which can then be exchanged for towels, and on departure you hand back the card and have your deposit returned. A similar sytem operates for the safe in your room. Loungers with comfy matresses' are plentiful at the beach and there are also quite a few around the pool.
The hotel is in a lovely position and has wonderful views across the bay. It's in a quieter area, but close enough to walk to the hustle and bustle. The hotel is small in comparison to some hotels in Icmeler and the absence of children adds to the quietness. There was evening entertainment on a couple of nights when we were there and this was mainly musical. The hotel staff and management are trying very hard to make this a high standard hotel with little touches of luxury, and hopefully they will achieve this in time.

The Fantasia has recently been refurbished by new owners and the standard is high. Rooms are small but clean and the views over the water are breathtaking. Safe is free. The price of the drinks in the hotel are above average but this is to be expected. Next door to the hotel is a quiet outdoors Linekers bar run by Jeff & Romeo - lovely guys - and the drinks are half the price there !! Free sunbeds and parasols at the hotels private beach are comfortable and clean - the beach boy very efficient and helpful. The meals are great with a wide selection of buffet style food - outdoor/indoor seating available - water free, the waiters are all very friendly and love to practice their English. The wine is not up to much but it is Turkey not Spain/Italy !! Entertainment was none existent however this will change for next year as advised by the hotel manager. To be honest entertainment is not required as you are a 2 minute walk from the main bars and restaurants - although no noise is heard from the hotel. This small hotel is one of the best in Icmeler and would highly reccommend to adults of all ages. We shall definately return to this hotel soon. Had a fab time :-) .. Do also reccommend a boat trip to see the loggerhead turtles.

Lovely hotel, clean rooms, friendly, helpful, hard working (somtimes too hard) staff. Adults only hotel so no screaming kids to spoil a nice relaxing break :)
The onsite boutique was closed and empty, which i would have though would have been a money spinner for the hotel.
Other than the breakfasts the lunches and dinners were bland, boring and unimaginative, while we stayed there the hotel owners were also there and had specially meals cooked for them, and had the staff clucking around them as if they were worried for the jobs, obvoiusly the food served was not good enough for them, so why feed it to the guests?
The pool bar has now been removed even though it is still being shown in brouchure and website at time of writting, very naughty :(

Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel for 2wks. When we arrived around 4 in the morning, we thought we had landed in paradise. The hotel was on the beach front The reception was beautiful, staff very polite,we were taken to our room, what a lovely surprise it was fantastic, had a nice side sea view. The food was lovely breakfast could have varied,as my husband liked bacon but apart from that there was a good choice for everyone.Lunch and evening meals were lovely.Staff were friendly and worked hard. We were not far from the main centre a short walk along the promanade from the hotel. If you wanted a quite drink you could or a bit lifely try the "Venice" the staff put on a good show, also the Irish Bar. All in all we had a great holiday meet some lovely people, and will definitely be going back. PS forgot to say adults only it was lovely.

Arriving in the middle of the night we were staggered by the view when we opened the curtains next morning - all rooms face the bay, we'll leave it to you for your opinion! Hotel backs on to the beach, superb swimming, free towels & excellently maintained loungers, umbrellas etc. plus spotless pool.
Warm, friendly, courteous staff, always professional & very willing to please.
Wonderful location, easy walk from centre of Icmeler and bus stop outside hotel for frequent dolmus (local minibus) to Marmaris costing about 85p one way, taking 10 mins to harbour. Market, shops, tour offices within 5 minutes.
Liked the best: With full board we had a superbly relaxing holiday
Liked the least: Food quality very good but a little repetitive sometimes
And remember - it's ADULTS only & free wi-fi in rooms if you've got a netbook - we booked our return holiday whilst still there!
