“Munamar beach residence is brill !!!!!!!”
Reviewed 18 July 2011

This is new part of the older hotel and is very nice had lovely sea view to our room and is newly built, the shower in the bathroom is nice and big and is of the walk in sort , nice not to have to peel off the shower curtain !!!! The room was nice size not banging our elbows on the walls and very nicely decorated, the hotel itself was fairly quiet as not in the school holidays yet !!!! The pool while not huge was lovely, kept very, very clean by the very friendly smiley staff who were a real pleasure as they came and chatted with us, the restaurant at the end of the sun lounger area does not belong to the hotel but they do lovely food and wine felt very decadent sitting with pizza and wine under my floppy hat !!!! The hotel restaurant is reached by walking across the small bridge and just round the corner did'nt mind this in the least as is lovely food many different dishes some more traditional but dont worry chips and salad are available for the less adventurous amonst you !!!!! The hotel bar was nearly under our room, no problems at all with noise or anything of that nature the bar staff were lovely and very happy to chat but as I mentioned it was fairly quiet when we were there !!!! A lovely quiet holiday just what the dr ordered had several meals out in the town also must of course mention the Steak house you must go and have at least one meal there with Fahie and the lads terrific steak with all the trimmings, also Coco beach restaurant is worth an evening too hope if you try all of these you enjoy them as much as we did !!!! Happy hols to you xxxx

Let me start by saying the photo's currently on here are before the renovation. Really nice hotel, alot of russians there. Okay food, not alot of variation to the food, quite repetative, so take money to eat out, eating out is cheap enough around the area. There is a nice little italian down the road called Coco Beach if you like italian. Reception service was good, but there wasnt much english spoken, although they catered very well to russians, and turkish people alike. The hotel left you alone alot, and if you wanted any information you had to ask/find it yourself. The pool is smallish in size, but most people stay on the beach and first 3 days we had, we had the pool area to ourselves!! There are 2 night clubs in icmeler that stay open after 1am. All bars or majority close at round 12am. The inclusive stops at 12am so if you want a drink night, you have to move on or pay extorsionate prices at the hotel. Area is stunning, nice walks, and promenades, sand on the beach gets quite hot at midday, and i found myself more than once running to get off it haha! All in all lovely place but for someone my age (23) abit more life was needed, i would suggest marmaris if your after this.OH and make sure you ask for a room that isnt linked to next door by a doorway abotu 5mm thick...it can be noisey especially when the child next door wants to watch sponge bob at 4am.

On another note, There is at the hotel a photo service. That takes you to a beach the otherside of mamaris and takes photo's - professional ones, of you, your couple ,family whatever. There quite expensive but with anything in turkey you can negotiate. Theyre called H&H photography. Great photo's, had the album. Really completed the trip and the memories. I suggest you take some extra money to get some, as they are more than worth the price.

My Husband and I have just got back from a week at the Munamar. The hotel was lovely, food was quite good there was always lots of salads, fruit ect so you won't go hungry. Hotel was right on the beach which is a stunning view. The staff spoke very little english and there was no info in english available. The hotel is full of people from Russia, Romania ect and they are very rude and have definately not heard of waiting for anything. Be careful if you are taking children I had to tell the staff twice they were playing a very rude song with swear words, stuff you really did not want children to hear I don't think they realised.

Room Tip: A must is the all inclusive boat trip fab day

What can I say. Firstly I agree with the previous reviewer, there were definitely too many rude Russians and Eastern Europeans in the hotel. My husband and I didnt get to speak to any English people for the first three days of our holidays!

The hotel is in an excellent position right on the beach where you are provided with clean towels and free sunbeds and plenty available! The rooms are newly refurbished and are lovely. Free safety deposit boxes are provided as are little slippers. There is a lovely flat screen television on the wall but you cant get to the plug with an adaptor. Had to pull the fridge out to plug in straighteners until I found a plug behind the curtain on the patio door, just on the floor to the left. Remember to take a plug if you need to use the sink as there are no plugs. Reception staff were very accommodating, asked for more pillows and got them straight away!

To sum up the hotel is in a lovely location with a nice beach. There is a grassed area by the bar and a lovely shaded area with some trees. The only negative points are the lack of waiters. No wine waiter in the dining room, you have to take your own drinks in with you. Only one waiter in Carmelos bar and you have to queue to get drinks yourself! Entertainment very poor. Probably because they are new staff! If you cant find any English people to talk to you would be better off going outside to some of the bars. The food is very good and caters for all tastes. The only problem I found in the dining room was the way they pushed a trolley round, slopping food from other peoples plates by our table whilst we were eating. Very offputting.

Places to visit for us were the Harmony Bar to the right of the hotel as you came out by the beach to see the Stella Show. What a hoot! The boys in the Hob Nob bar in Main Street were good and if you want a good laugh, go see Omar in the Aysima Restaurant nearby!

I can see now why people return to Icmeler, year after year. Loved it! Will definitely return. Not sure about the Munamar owing to the lack of English guests! Have been told they are not going to advertise for the Russians next year and prefer us, also no children under 18 will be allowed. But that remains to be seen!

Room Tip: Upgraded to seaview room and got 213. Brilliant.

we have just arrived back from a break to turkey, first away without children, was originally going platinum, but got a call 1 week before to be told was now chique and unique, was advised no children and was lots of children!
hotel was lovely, very clean, very modern, clean sheets and towels daily, towel guy was realy nice and food was ok (very repetative).
BUT capital BUT the russians are so damn rude! i can honestly say that the hotel was over run with russians, i am not normally bothered by different cultures, but it does get to you! Was told by a local that the munamar beach and munamar residence was mostly russian and then gets filled with english when they cant fill the hotel last minute, but would defo recommend the aqua a couple of hotels down the beach it was fab and was mostly english, one couple had gone 4 years runnng!
lastly could i recommend the turkish bath omg it was the best thing ever, recommend it before you get a tan as it prepares the body for the sun and very good value for money, is carried out by very experienced staff in the basement of the hotel.

Booked this holiday last minute for May half term week. No regrets what so ever an excellent hotel, rooms very clean, food very good. The one thing that stood out from this hotel was that no matter what time of day it was you could always get sun-beds by the pool or on the beach - even though the hotel was full!! Never had this experience before and there was five of us and always got them together! The food was good with lots of variety even for picky eaters and there was no queues. The majority of people at the hotel were English and Russian. Met some really nice people!

The entertainment was ok - live bands, turkish dancers etc but not much for kids and all staff were very friendly. Location is excellent, on the beach and two minutes walk to main bar and shops. I would definitely recommend using the spa services. We had first day package consisting of sauna, Turkish bath, face mask and body massage, this was fantastic the best we have had in Turkey and we have had a few. All staff are very professional but also friendly. I only went out to eat twice and would definitely recommend The Waterfall restaurant (had an excellent steak) then drinks in Oscars bar, all staff fun and very friendly and excellent service and entertainment. I would also recommend The Champagne Bar (we had steak and leg of lamb and friends has Sunday lunch) meals were fantastic and the entertainment was also excellent ended up staying for drinks after the meal. Boo Hoo back home now!! ps do a boat trip well worth it!

We read the reviews prior to going to Munamar June 2011. However when we got there we were told the hotel had just re-opened following refurb after being closed for some considerable time - about 10 years! So where did the reviews come from? We did enjoy the holiday and found the hotel up to a good standard. Only problem was the length of time for the transfer. Meals were fine and food was plentiful. A-la Carte restaurant only served one fish dish and fish salad so wasn't really an option. Would go to the hotel and the resort again had a good holiday.
