“Holiday made even better by such lovely people!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

I booked this holiday with my boyfriend last year before i knew i was pregnant. I am now 32 weeks and must say i was abit worried about how i would cope in such heat! On arrival the thomas cook rep (megan) was really attentive. Throughout our weeks stay she made sure i was comfortable and was really helpful and gave me alot of good advice on the area and how to get around. The food was also incredible especially as im limited as to what i can eat, which is also really good value for money. I ended up having a really memorable holiday and a much better holiday than i anticipated and i think my boyfriend appreciated the help we got and was grateful to not have a grumpy gf all holiday! Hopefully we will return next year, with little one in tow! Thank you!

Me and my girlfriend (24 & 25) have today arrived back from this lovely hotel set up on the beach almost smack bang inbetween icmeler and marmaris.

To put the title of the review into perspective, last year we went to Sahra Su Hotel in Fethiye where we had an amazing time! In comparison, this hotel was HUGE! Almost too big. So many guests meant finding a dinner table was a bit of a struggle and forget getting a sun lounger by the main pool if you don't get up at the crack of dawn. Thankfully, there is a smaller, more chilled pool (with far less children) situated a little closer to the beach, and the hotel also owned part of the beach and a jetty, which always had spare loungers and was the best place to sunbathe.

Food was fantastic!!! I heard a British woman moan that there was "nuffink she could eat here". She must only ever eat McDonald's or KFC as fast food chain meals were pretty much the only thing missing. Fresh fish, grilled chicken, salad, chips, calamari, fajitas etc etc absolutely loads of choice for everyone. Pizza and burger bar open from 12.30 - 4pm for those who didnt fancy sitting and eating in the restaurant which was great for us as we did tend to stick to chilling by the beach.

All inclusive very good. Some other reviews are complaining?? I'm confused. So much lovely food, available throughout the day. Drinks are good, bottled water and cocktails included, just be sure to ask if you want them a little stronger! I had to constantly ask a barman called Ugurcan to add more alcohol to dranks as he practically poured in a thimble per cocktail. No problem getting drinks for you and a partner/friends.

Our problem with the place was not the Russians, many have made out they were a nightmare, (although I would much rather listen to them than most of the moaning Brits in the hotel) but the fact that there were so many kids. This was even before the start of the summer holidays in most British primary schools!!!

The entertainment was aimed towards everyone, (acrobats, burlesque dancing, chinese circus) and they did try and put on boat partys and discos for those a little older, but the problem was, we were practically the only couple in our early/mid 20's in the whole hotel (around 1000 people) and definitely one of the only ones without kids.

This made it fairly difficult for us to interact with a lot of the hotel 'fun club'/entertainment team, and more animated staff (speedy) as they mainly stayed up by the overcrowded/hectic kiddy pool, which left us feeling fairly disconnected from the hotel and the day entertainment that was on offer.

We did have a really good time and we felt we did pay a fair price for what we got. We only really planned on catching a tan and chilling out which we were easily able to do, but due to the family environment can't see us ever returning.

Thank you to hotel staff for leaving a card and cakes in the room for my girlfriends birthday, really appreciated and a lovely gesture considering the size of the hotel.

Man who sells shisha was very lovely and works very hard.

As a tip - icmeler is very boring, marmaris a lot better for nightlife, casual drinks and shopping (cheaper).

We have stayed at the Marmaris Palace many times and have never been disappointed with anything but this year was just fantastic. Can't thank all the staff enough. Improvements made to the hotel are second to none don't want to praise it up to much as prices bound to go up next year. We were with our friends Sharon Rhys and Colin Speediest Scottish family I'm sure many returning gusts will have heard of them. We'll on the last day of my holiday Sharon had a terrible accident on a boat she broke her back was taken to hospital and is now back in Scotland but to cut a long story short the hotel staff from the lifeguard to management have been fantastic. Going above and beyond the call of duty to help our Sharon and her family, visiting her daily running us to the hospital and to let you understand the boat trip was nothing at all to do with the hotel.

Also a big thank you to Garsale and Erkut (boss man) in the jewelers who went to Istanbul to get an eternity ring for my husband to give me OMG how fantastic.

Sharon also learned to swim daily swimming lessons from the lifeguard.

Jack had a wonderful 17 th birthday courtesy of my Speedi.

Nothing not to love about this hotel.

Just returned from a week honeymoon here. After reading the reviews I thought we were on to a cracking deal by booking last minute however was largely disappointed. The transfer to the hotel was 2 and a half hour which was bad enough at early hours of the morning with a 3 and 5 year old. When arriving at reception the staff spoke very little English, we were given our room key but not advised where to go and the porter didn't understand a word. When finally reaching the room we were expecting 2 double beds. Instead we opened the door to find 1, when we tried to communicate with porter that there was 4 of us he pointed to a little chair in the corner that was not even made up and no spare linen. Even after tipping porter he slammed door on way out saying he'd come back with a bed but this did not happen. Had to complain at reception with 2 now screaming kids whilst someone went and got us the bed/bedding that we needed! so the first night of our honeymoon resulted in me sleeping on a pull out bed as daughters had fallen asleep on double. We had stated this was our honeymoon so would have thought they may have at least put a bottle of wine in the room however no effort was made. Pretty much agree with rest of reviews in that Russians are completely rude and push in at meal times/lifts. If you don't get down to pool by 10am you've no chance of getting a lounger which became annoying. The wasps are also a nightmare we found ourselves eating inside all of the time. The childrens buffet always consisted of the same food which was: chips, rice, chicken or fish and a pitta slice with tomato. Have to say I've stayed at a lot of hotels but found this more difficult than any other to put a meal together even with all the choice, again more catered towards Russians/Turkish. Saving grace of this holiday was the facilities: my eldest loved going to the Thomas Cook Kids club there and the staff were excellent in there. The waiters were pretty quick at serving, must say considering the size of the complex there was never a long queue at the bars. I thought the location was good as it only cost 10 lira per adult for the taxi boat to Marmaris or Icmeler and kids traveled free and they loved this. Evening entertainment was good, the childrens evening disco was repetitive but our daughters loved it so it kept them entertained. On day of departure we were told that if we rang reception a porter would come to collect our bags, my husband had to make a total of 5 calls and in the end had to manage 4 cases by himself, reception staff said they were busy yet he could see them all hanging around talking at reception as our room was directly above! speaking to other families it became apparent we weren't the only ones with problems. Would not return to this hotel again

Just back from a/i 2 weeks here 8/7/2014 .First thing to say is we enjoyed our holiday. The hotel is on a huge site with loads of facilities for children. It is not suitable for people without kids,we had wall to wall Russian & Turkish brats everywhere. If booking i recommend main building fifth floor seaview, sceneary is stunning. For a little peace we used the beach area this is excellent free sunbeds and shades great sea swimming. Food is pretty average and more signs would be helpful. Many Russians here so food reflects this.Generally speaking the staff in all areas are very good .I would like to make special mention of OSSIE the customer services manager who is a great diplomat and does his best to accommodate, also two particular waiters in the main restaurant KADIR & YUSHA these guys are the best(thanks to you from MUMMY). The hotel is positioned between Icmeler& Marmaris not much close by but buses are cheap and frequent. When in Marmaris you must try MADO opposite the water taxi area fantastic buns ices and desserts beautiful clean shop.Gulet trips abound we tried several, turtle trip is a very long day requiring plenty of stamina,Marmaris palace boat trip at 9 quid with food is good value. The market at Marmaris is so small its not worth your time,if you smoke dont be fooled by the snyed fags saw L&b @18 quid (200) I was told they are not genuine. Also something to add were the many wasps around with so much greenery the inevitable midge bites.

We just got back home from one week holiday (all inclusive). We had really great time and there is only little details to improve.

Food was great. I mean really good. I can´t understand how somebody can ever say that it was average or similar every day. Of course you can live with fries and pizza whole week (and some people do!) if you like to :)

As 99% was great I pick up little things to improve. Almost everything has been already said, so here is some thoughts:

GYM:
- bench press bench doesn´t meet any standards. It is a joke.
- exercise bike is a toy. You can´t rise saddle enough for 185cm. How about few real spinning bikes?
- two cleaning women do great job in gym, but they need appropriate wet mop for floor.

Beach Volley
- beach volley field need more sand and little bit more fence to stop ball to go sea.
- New net with real world hight would be nice also.

We had a great time. I want to personally thank Fun Team, all the chefs, waitresses, staff etc. We might come back next year!
