“Ohhhh those annoying Ruskies !!!”
Reviewed 17 July 2012

Stayed at the Marmaris Park for a week from the 8th July, first time trip to Turkey, enjoyed our holiday there but a few things got right up my nose. What can I say about the Russians that has not already been said ? very rude, no manners, ignorant, miserable, greedy, I could go on and on, couple next to us at evening meal got up to get some food and the russians were in and sitting at their table before they got back, would they move ? not until the couple complained to waiters, what a lot of horrible pigs, The russians are so horrible with manners etc. even the bar staff and hotel staff are misserable, when you ask for you drink at the bar and say thank you, its banged on the bar, not a word from the bar person. staff need some training in manners as well. Now for the food... I have been to a lot of all inc. but have never been to one where there is such a rush to get in when the restaurant opens, what a carry on !!!! its like there's only enough food for half the guests and if you don't get in quick and find a seat, you will not get anything. The Russians are waiting at the door for it to open and then WHooooosh, its like a F1 race, ha ha can laugh now but not then. Its honestly like a cattle market, you will see what I mean when you go, breakfast is the worst for choice, after that I would say the meals are not bad. Entertainment, not great, good disco later on though, If you like that sort of thing, stops about 12 midnight and bar open till 1am on all inc. poor choice of drinks though, very poor. Never had a problem getting a sun bed, plenty of them, nice views from hotel and jimmy boy comes round to see if you would like to go on any boat trips, much cheaper than hotel. Out and about is fine if you don't mind the hassle when passing shops etc. it does get a bit annoying though after a while. The Airport on way back has to be the most expensive airport I have ever been in, what a rip off !! about £ 12 for a big mac, £3.50 for a can of coke :-( you have been warned. Would I go back ..... If I'm honest, then yes.

We love turkey in our family and when we visited Marmaris Palace in Icmeler last year, we fell in love with the place. The intention was to go back to the Palace this year, but we left it too late and decided that we should try the Marmaris Park hotel next door. I knew that we would make comparisons all through the holiday and our opinions are at the end of the review. Marmaris Park is a great hotel; the reception was friendly and helpful, the rooms are very nice and clean and cleaned daily. We had a problem with our air conditioning and when it was brought to the attention of the hotel they gave us a fan and dealt with the problem the next morning. The food was great, a good variety of food cooked fresh and tables cleaned as you finished by the staff. The hotel was 100% full but we always had a full choice of food and we always found a table. The pool was excellent, very big with a shallow end for the non swimmers. The Animation team worked very hard to entertain throughout the holiday, providing competitions in table tennis, shuffle board, darts, volleyball and water gymnastics. Evening entertainment in the Amphitheater was varied! Ranging from staff miming to Grease one evening to a great world dance show from guest performers another evening. The trips were all organised by Jimmy Boy. Very good value for money and the lazy day is a must. Take a snorkel. If you decide to go fishing ask for Nemo. Also take a walk to Icmeler, a beautiful town with good shopping and a bazaar on Wednesdays. The hotel is built into a forest and when very hot, the insects in the trees are noisy, but you do get used to it and as soon as it cools in the evening it is quiet. The wasps were annoying but the hotel sprays regularly. A mixture of guest nationalities but mainly British and Russian (don’t expect British manners from Russian people). All in all a great hotel. Lots of hills and steps.
Used a company called A2B for transfers, but I will never again. Paid extra for less drop offs and pickups. Girl kept us at airport trying to sell trips for half an hour. Cramped coach, arrived 1 hour after tour operator coach and we shared Cosmos coach back to airport.

Marmaris Park v Marmaris Palace who’s best?

Rooms - Park has newer rooms Best Park
Pool – Park has one big pool with a shallow end. Palace has 3 pools main pool has no shallow end also has a slide Best Park
Food – presentation at the Palace was better but the food quality was excellent in both Best Equal
All inclusive – pedello free at Palace other than that the same Best Palace
Entertainment (evening) – Palace has larger Amphitheater and more guest performers. Best Palace
Entertainment (daytime) - Best Park
Facilities – both hotels had a jetty into the sea with a private beach, the palace has a treetop walk but the ice rink was closed Best Equal

Conclusion. We could not pick an outright winner and would happily recommend and book either hotel again

well what can i say this hotel is excelent, the surroundings, the views, the peacefullness, everything was excellent, we had a bad experience with hotels in turkey last year but his year from our first day we were relaxed and loving all the hotel had to offer.
The rooms were a bit out the way if you wanted a sea view you had all the noise at night from the entertainment until 1 am, but sice we spent our days at the poolside overlooking the sea or used the private beach, we had sea views all day. The food is excellent lots of good qualiuty fresh food served from morning until night, and the dining room and chefs were immaculatly clean, laqrge variety of food, starters salad, fruit, fresh bread, soup, indoor hot plates and each day at all meals chefs at an outside area prpearing a bbq style meat or chicken dish. There are two a la carte reseraunts one is seafood and one turkish, you can use one free during your stay and if you wish to try the other you can pay addional, we didnt use it but heard good reveiws.

We didnt encounter many problems with the russians although towards the end our stay they were starting to grate on us and the rudness of trying to push in and sheer greediness was irritaing. There were 75 brittish people there and 500 russians during our stay.

The entertainment was part of what let the hotel down for me personally, the enterntainment/animation staff were excellent, espescailly Yumeet, friendly and made lots of effort, but due to the vast amount of russians the entertainment language was geared more to them as was the music at night so we found ourselves going into Icemeler at night so perhaps didnt get full benefit of all inclusive at night, also the bar was quite restricted free was wine, raki, vodka, cognac and flavoured liquers, but you paid 25 lire for imported spirits which is about £8.00 for one drink. They did put on good shows and activies during day such as water gym, table tennis, darts, shuffleboard, there is also a gym and sauna and inside pool you can use for free.

The hotel was mostly clean i would say about 80% the rooms were cleaned daily and clean towels, beds changed every 3 days, the rooms and bathrooms are dated and basic but fit for purpose, some of the toilets around the hotel are a bit untidy more due to being outdated than filthy.

The hotel facilites well i used the spa a few times i had a all over exfoliating body scrub at start of hol to boost the tan, and a turkish bath, wow, the therapists in there know their stuff, very professional and relaxing this cost me about 60 lire £30 for an hour treatment and massage, further into the holday i had a facial and clay mask again very professional and well worth it there are loads of treatment to pick from, also if you are unable to keep your rooom on you can use the shower facilites here to get freshened up before you leave.

Jimmy boy was good too he is the resorts trip guy, you can book all your standard trips at a slightly cheaper cost than those in marmaris or icemelr and he advises you on the ones to do, so you are not wasting money, we did the boat trip and the Dalyman mud baths well worth the money although long days so space them out.

i would go back to this hotel but since i enjoy going out at night and seeing differnt people and resteraunts i would go to icemeler half board or self catering, but for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings this defintly gets my vote.

Room Tip: it doesnt matter which room you get i really wanted sea view but to get a sea view you had to put up...

Just returned from Marmaris Park and overall holiday was great as it is what you make it. A few problems along the way i.e.
1. Rude Russians who do not know how to queue or smile
2. Big problem with wasps although when the fumigated it eased for a few days
3. Entertainment was poor although the team were really lovely

However the resort is very clean and they clear away promptly. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and the staff are friendly. We learnt how to say hello and thank you in Turkish and they appreciate this. Jimmy sells excursions at a fraction of the reps price and he WILL find you - he is really lovely and will advise the best trips.

We ate at both the Turkish a la carte and fish restaurant and both were good although at the fish one we were bombarded by wasps!!!. There is a good choice of food in the dining hall and my favourite was the baklavar dessert but my waistline has got bigger!!! The Russians are very pushy and will try to push in - not welcome - but we stood our ground and told them to get to the back of the queue!!

Plenty of sunbeds - the ones under the umbrellas on the front of the jetty seemed to be reserved from the evening before which was very unfair. The slide into the water was great fun and the guys at the water sport centre very nice and not pushy.

Icemeler itself is lovely - a 15 minute walk along a well made path.

In all its a lovely holiday - you can do as much or as little as you want to.

having waited all year for my holiday i was a bit disappointed with Marmaris Park. I traveled with my husband and his brother/sister-in-law for a 2 week all inclusive holiday. after reading other reviews i was ready for the Russians, but i just couldn't believe how rude they were even the children. They got so close to you if they do queue that you could feel their breath on your neck,my husband actually stood on one Russians foot as they were stood so close he didn't have room to turn around!! They do spoil mealtimes with their pushing and grabbing. the food was good there was always a large choice available.A big problem was the wasps, the outside eating areas looked lovely but you were unable to use them as there were loads of wasps flying around, landing on your food etc. Also the air conditioning was greatly needed as it was so hot, although the a/c and tv didn't work from 5-6.30 due to the generator not working one day, but this happened nearly everyday at exactly the same time! The room cleaner was excellent we had clean towels everyday and sheets changed every 2 days he was very polite and went out of his way to be helpful. Also Eugin the bar waiter in the top bar was great, once he got to know you he had your drinks waiting for you. Then there was jimmy boy!! We booked a dalyan mud bath trip through him and was promised a guaranteed sunbed, large spacious boat not overcrowded, then a transfer onto a smaller boat with english only and an english speaking tour guide, needless to say we got none of it!! the boat looked full to capacity we were sat on a side seat squashed together, when we were moved to smaller boat they tied 5 boats together with 1 tour guide who seemed to talk in great detail about the surroundings and history in Russian then if you were able to hear him he said about 1 sentence in English, i had booked this day trip as a birthday treat as i had been before and had a great time, but when we got to the mud baths it was absolutely heaving and we just managed to get in and get out before the boat left. It was a very disappointing day. If you want a great boat trip go down to Marmaris harbour, look for the Friends pub and moored nearby is the WHITE SHARK with its captain Mustafa. It cost us £120 for the whole boat which takes upto 10 people including a fantastic meal ,we left at 10am and got back for 5pm we had an amazing time. After this holiday we have decided not to do an all inclusive again.

Room Tip: sea view room well worth the extra money :)

my partner and I stayed at the Marmaris park for 2 weeks in July 2010 as part of an all inclusive package holiday.
we arrived in the middle of the night and were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff and were even offered something to eat from a cold plate of hams, bread ans salad. our room was basic but perfectly adequate for a fortnights holiday when very little time is spent in your room, the view was beautiful, the glistening sea through the pine trees....bliss! a fair amount of storage space and a tidy bathroom, our housekeeping staff was great and we always returned to fresh towels and interesting towel art every day!
the setting of this hotel is brilliant, small blocks of apartments set in the pine trees and flowers, with a promenade into either icemeler or marmaris, we took a walk into icemeler most nights. the food is good and plentiful with their being a turkish night once a week and pizzas etc available at the beach bar throughout the day.
my very favourite part of this hotel was the jetty, I lay here reading every day and could have easily waited another week to do just that, the jetty got a nice breeze which meant that you could lay ut in the sun longer and was alot quiter than the poolside, you could also watch the boats passing throughout the day, perfect relaxation!
the town of Icemeler is idyllic with canals, we enjoyed the shopping of an evening and took the taxi boat into marmaris one night, a great way to travel!!!
all in all a great holiday which we were very sad to leave!!!

I have just returned from a week away in Moscow........or as it's also known, The Marmaris Park Hotel. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable and well located for a relaxing break. The food is good, the views are inspiring from the beach, and there are never queues at the bar (partly due to people pushing in). This all sounds promising until you factor in the hotels other guests - the Russians. They single handily ruin this hotel, and are enough to make me never want to go back (or to Russia). Meal times are a particular challenge, if you can survive the pushing in, the over loading of plates with food tips you over the edge - especially as there was never any fruit left (unless you were willing to take it from the full plates left on tables). Before I went I read reviews about the staff being unfriendly due to constant rudeness. This is what we found. A good hotel, but not one I can recommend with any sincerity.
