“Hotel great!! Food not !!!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

We stayed at the munamar beach resort in icmeler for 10 nights the hotel it's self is beautiful , clean and the staff are fab the problem was the food it was never hot , the eggs on a morning were freezing also salads should have been cold and they were warm. We have been to turkey so many times and never had any problems with the food . My husband had a bad stomach for most of the holiday . Nothing really to say nice about the food at all !!! If you like water melon then you are in luck as that's mainly all the fruit they had apart from the odd rock hard plums . We are not fussy eaters at all and will eat mostly anything but to be honest the only thing I enjoyed was just plain old soup as it was the only thing hot !!!!!

I stayed at the Club Munamar Beach Resort with my wife, my mother and my 12 year old daughter, firstly people are still confusing this hotel with others of similar names, this hotel is located opposite the Mersoy Hotel, this hotel is split into 3 separate areas, there is a small section located across the bridge from the restaurant (this has a small pool), the restaurant section which has a pool with a slide, we stayed in the reception/entertainment section in a family room which overlooked the main pool and the outside stage, there was evening entertainment which finished at 11pm so it wasn't too bad, we stayed on an all inclusive basis, the alcoholic drinks were ok, maybe not the strongest but they did the job, the food was weird and there seemed little or no thought about the combinations each lunchtime and dinner time, there was plenty of salad, which was good, but some of the hot dishes were baffling, there was stews of various descriptions including chicken and beef with vegetables, occasionally there was beef in gravy and roast chicken, there was a steady supply of chips and rice, outside they occasionally cooked pasta, which after standing was reheated, I like to visit different countries and try local food but the food at Club Munamar was on occasion bland and uninteresting this may have something to do with the majority of the clientele staying at the hotel who were Russian, I have been to Bulgaria and stayed in hotels with a high number of Russians but the ones who stayed here, were on the whole rude and not very friendly, their eating habits also made me chuckle, to watch them load their plates as high as possible and then fill their tables with food and drinks was a sight to behold, they would eat a small amount of food and leave the rest, they would also quite happily cut in front of you if you were queuing for anything, I didn't allow them to spoil my holiday, the staff at the hotel were friendly and couldn't do enough to make your stay pleasant, I would like to say a big thank you to a chap called Shirgar who worked in the restaurant, he was always getting us drinks and constantly clearing our table.

A word of warning to those people who have arranged this holiday themselves, the hotel will give you a welcoming meeting letter from a company called Rota tours and their rep called Levan, he will try and sell you day trips, please don't fall into the trap we did, we signed up for aTurkish Bath (Which was crap) and also a Lazy boat trip, which was a shambles, we were picked up almost an hour late from our hotel and taken to Marmaris, when we boarded our boat called Fantazi, it was rammed, there were people sitting on the steps at the front of the boat, every table was full, the upper deck was laid out with sunbeds which were all full, they also filled the floor area with mats which left very little room to walk around, when we went for lunch downstairs we couldn't get a seat at any tables and were forced to sit at the back of boat with plates on our knees, these trips were very costly as we found out, so please AVOID this character, if you want to go on any trips there is a small office opposite the hotel, with a chap called Mario and his Russian colleague, please use these guys they are first class and more importantly the prices are really good and you get picked up on time.

Enjoy your holiday and don't get too bogged down with the Russians, they are a curious nation and people, God only knows what they make of us ;)

just returned from my first visit to the munamar beach with 2 female friends. very impressed with the size of our room which fitted 3 of us more than adequately. Recently refurbished included a fantastic walk in shower! We stayed on an all inclusive basis and felt the quality and variety of the food was excellent all week. staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the spa staff - Turkish massage highly recommended! Adults only hotel meant the beach and pool were peaceful, plenty of sunbeds even though we travelled at the height of season. Our first time to Turkey and would definitely stay at the munamar again!

PLEASE check which hotel you are booking or reviewing as there about 3 Munamar hotels close together and this can and has been very confusing for people. The above named hotel is opposite the Mersoy hotel on the main street. This is the third year of the trot that we have been to the hotel. This year there was a marked change and not for the better! On speaking to one staff member it was clear that on the past 2 times we had been to the hotel it had been run by Polish but this year it was owned by Russians. This in itself was not a problem but the things that had been changed were a problem. The entertainment, which in the past had been introduced in English, German and Russian was now mainly in Russian so it was almost impossible to get the gist of what was going on. This was difficult for any English children who were there.

My husband went to the bar one day and asked for a vodka and was given a tiny shot and only got a little bit added to that when he complained. Whereas a Russian customer got a large shot of vodka at least 3 times as much as my husband when he asked for some. One staff member had got into trouble for using 3 bottles of Tequila in a day but surely customers should get what they want during their all inclusive stay?

The food this year wasn't as nice as before, choice wasn't as good. Staff from a restaurant outside stated that our hotel was the 'chicken and chips hotel' and he was right as that was the staple food. The indoor dining room was infested with flies and outside with ants.

What was really apparent was the lack of customers, the pools were almost empty where the past 2 years at the same time of year they were heaving. There were 3 canopies for all the sunbeds over the family side and I was told that this was because the others had been moved to the beach as we were now able to use the private beach outside the Munamar Residence this year. When we checked the canopies on the beach this staff statement was not true. The pools and pool areas were very clean.

The maids on the rooms were excellent and could not be faulted, they worked very hard daily to clean the rooms to a high standard. Some of the staff on reception and bars etc were not very pleasant or helpful and they seemed to be short staffed. On checking out this year before midday, we got our wrist bands taken off us immediately as we were no longer able to have any alcohol but could have soft drinks and food. We were not being picked up until 7pm. We have never known this happen before anywhere at an all inclusive. Considering we missed our first day due to flight times we thought that we would still be allowed the all inclusive until we left.

Icmeler is a beautiful place with lovely people and we would return but not to this hotel. It is very sad to see a lovely hotel ruined because of the greed of it's new owners.

We have just returned from Club Munamar. The hotel was very clean the maids came every day and the staff were really friendly which made our stay a little better however... There were only a couple of English guests the rest were all Russian not that we have a problem with that but it should state this as we wouldn't have booked otherwise due to the food (especially breakfast) and all of the entertainment was catered for them. The English guests were pushed to one side.. We found that we were going out every night as there was nothing for us in the hotel (which you don't really want especially when your paying for all inclusive) and no one to talk to - we found we were going to bed at 10 every night!! The family rooms are right over the entertainment area which wasn't really a great with young children as the disco was on till midnight.. they should really put families in the other building where its quieter. Your holiday is what you make of it but I wouldn't be returning to this hotel and wouldn't recommend this to English travellers.
