I found out about Latina goldsmiths via the wonderful world of facebook! I contacted Linda before I went to get some ideas of what they do and happily found them very close to where I was staying. I had taken some old gold and silver which they melted down and Attila designed two rings for me which I absolutely love. What a wonderful find, I will definitely be returning next year. Linda is lovely and very helpful and Attila with his broken english is just great too, he understands more than he lets on which gave us a good few giggles in there. I fully recommend Latina for a really lovely personal service - you will not be disappointed.

I was in Icmeler for two weeks holiday and went to Latina goldsmiths as Atilla had repaired some earrings for me the previous year.I was very happy with the last repair and was interested in a bracelet altered for a friend. The bracelet was inspected and he sugested a nice addition of belcher chain at each end and fastener resited in the middle of chains to look as if the whole piece belonged, it was now a good inch longer and very suitable for a mans wrist. My friend was unable to wear the diamond piece as to tight however he now has the re vamped piece and is over the moon at the alteration. I have to say thank you to atilas wife who so very kindly chatted and with great pride showed me her husbands wonderful designs on line . I recommend the goldsmith very highly and will certainly visit them again when in Icmeler .A very happy bunny!!

Hi, prior to going to Icmeler, one of my Gold rings went into my garden shredder as my fingers had shrunk with the cold. On finding the ring it was hardly recognisable as a ring, a depressing mangled piece of gold.

After visiting Turkey for over 16 years, and buying my rings and my wife's jewellery there, I was aware of the various goldsmiths skills, so I took the battered ring on holiday with me to Icmeler, June 2013.

I had asked two goldsmiths in Icmeler about repairing the ring, both said it was not possible, but they would make a new ring out of the old one, adding some gold and wanting between £285 and £300 for the job.

Then one evening whilst walking up to Hanedan restaurant, we spotted another goldsmith with the name "Latina". We went in and met Atila and his Australian wife Lynda, what a nice couple they are. Lynda acted as interpreter between Atila and myself, and soon Atila was inspecting the crumpled heap of gold using magnifying goggles.

His decision was final, yes it could be repaired, cut the head of the ring off, make a new thick band of gold and it would be like new. We agreed a price for doing the work, and he would charge me for the extra gold used to repair the ring and make the band thicker for me.

He weighed my battered ring at 7.3 gms, and would re-weigh it upon completion and charge me for the gold used, I was more than happy. Whilst there it was very interesting talking to Atila, he showed me some of the jewellery he was currently making, the most intricate and magical was a copy of "Lady Diana's" ring being made from a photograph.

Over the next few days we saw this ring take shape, the workmanship was fantastic, a basket of fine gold wires gold soldered onto the circular gold band, then the claws to hold the dark blue stone which was to be surrounded by diamonds. I am just a little sad not to have seen the finished article, I was really impressed with Atila's skills.

Atila used 2.6 grms of 14 carat gold in repairing my ring to a condition as good or better than when it was new, for all this he charged me £148. I had checked the market price of 9 carat gold on the world markets prior to having the ring repaired it was just over £30 .
If you are in Icmeler and require the services of a true goldsmith as opposed to a jeweller (who is not a smith) then look up "Latina Goldsmith" and meet Atila and Lynda for yourself, you could be doing yourself a big favour.
