Where to begin the rooms are to say the least basic and run down. The food was hit and miss and if you left it after 8pm there was not much food left. The waiters started to clear your table before you had finished eating. The bar closed at 11pm. The tv in the room did Not work the tea and coffee making facilities where provided but there was nowhere to plug the kettle in and no milk provided. You where not allowed food and drink in your room even though there was a fridge. Overall my advise is to stay clear of this hotel. It is classed as a 4* but at best it's a 3*.

Just returned from our 11 day holiday and wanted to share our experiences of this hotel and location. My opinion this is a 3 star hotel, food is good with plenty of variety for both adults and children, we enjoyed the ice cream at dinner as not included in the all inclusive package during the day time. All inclusive drinks ok but would have liked to see a better range ie no cocktails served. Staff were lovely especially the team in the restaurant and bar nothing too much trouble for them but make sure you speak to them as you can have a laugh and a joke with them. We noticed most people just ignored them. Special thanks to Ahmet and Murat who looked after us very well. The pool area was very busy and hard to get a sunbed but still nice. Beach was good with free sunbeds and umbrella (3Tl for mats if you would like) also hotel provides pool towels (just pay deposit). Rooms are good size cleaned daily with fresh towels. Booked all our trips with Dennis outside hotel next to beach with very good prices recommend jeep safari so much fun for 10 pound each. Fantastic location as you can get a water taxi to Marmaris and other areas. Just a quick note on entertainment non existence especially in the evening this let the hotel down all said we really enjoyed the location and hotel and would return.

Room Tip: We were allocated to 356 a large room for 3 people but bathroom very small where as our friends were...

I would agree there are a lot of pros and cons to this hotel.

We had a family holiday, 2 adults and 13 year old son for 2 weeks at L'Etoile Icmeler in August for 2 weeks.

CONS

Main lifts were temperamental during our 2 week stay, did not really cause any problems to us but would be a big problem if you have buggy or wheelchair.

Air con was quite inefficient, but did cool the room at night. Downside was I came home with a chest infection due to leaving it on each night.

Difficult to get sun lounger by pool, be up before 6.30 am to reserve a sun bed !!!
Sad to say it was mainly the Brits at fault. Most of beds were left with towels on for most of day.
It was hilarious to watch people moving the sun beds from one side of the pool to the other every morning.

The kiddies pool was tiny.

Bar closes at 11pm. Not a problem for us though.

Did not like the gravelly beach, we had read that there was supposed to be some sand.
Must have been washed away !!!!

My biggest complaint was the so called "Entertainment" around the pool during the day and night. Non existent during the day and embarrassingly poor at night.

I have read other reviews that stated that there were 2 characters, one named Boy Boy, can't remember the other one, who were brilliant.
They must have gone on their holidays during our stay.
The crew we had to put with were so bad, I could not understand why the hotel had employed them.

Daytime entertainment seemed to mainly consist of dance music being played at a very high volume whilst the entertainment crew sat behind the equipment updating their Facebook pages.
I have to say that the volume was greatly reduced during our second week. I believe, because of numerous complaints from the guests.

The entertainment at night started at around 21.00 - 21.30 (to late for very young kids)

To start the night was the so called "Mini Disco" for the small children. A female member of the crew, who quite obviously could not stand kids and hated having to perform classics such as the Birdy Dance, The Music Man, Hands Up (Ottawan circa 1980) and some song I had never heard in my life !!! This was performed every night of our holiday, as soon I we heard the intro to this farce, we high tailed it and returned when it had finished.

Have to say some of the adult acts were quite entertaining, but you could see much better and professional performers in the bars such as Venice or Bamboo.

HOTEL MANAGER, PLEASE DO SOMETHING !!!!!!

PROS

Both pools were spotlessly clean.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Great location on the beach and close to all the shops.

Just outside the hotel is the jetty for the boat taxis, these are very good value for money.

On the jetty you must check out local character Cheeky Bugger, he is the local Del Boy to see for the boat trips during your stay. You can also check him out on You Tube !!!!

Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Clean towels every day with maid service.

Bathroom has a brilliant wet room shower.

No complaints re the food served at all mealtimes. These are buffet style with a great variety on offer. We did not have a bad meal during our stay.

Free Wifi available in reception.

Could not fault the bar service, bearing in mind that as drinks are free, you may have to wait a few minutes to be served.

Great book library in Internet room.

Plenty of chairs and tables next to pool in the shade to sit and have a drink etc.

This was our first trip to Turkey and had reservations prior to going, glad to say these were unfounded.

We had a fab holiday in Icmeler and can recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for sea or pool view and not level 5 view restricted and very during the day.

The hotel and rooms were very clean. Maid service every day. Our rooms were very good and air conditioning a blessing. Location was great, central for everything. Food was excellent and you can eat from 7.30 breakfast to late at night (evening soup). Can't believe people that say there was not a good choice of food as there was always plenty for everyone, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff were very good and cleaning up all the time, nothing was too much bother.
Great value hotel. Evening entertainment was poor, however plenty bars round about to go to
at night for entertainment.

Room Tip: We had two rooms on the second floor about the entertainment lounge on left side of hotel as you go...

There are a lot of pros and cons to this hotel. We (myself partner and our 15 month old son) have his arrived back from a 7 day stay at the l'etoile icemeler.

I will get the cons out the way incase you have already booked! Lift are temprimental so pest if you have buggy or wheelchair. Air con quite poor and can't leave it on whist out coz hey have welded the room key to the chain which activates the electricity. It was tricky to get it to stay on too. The shower had a mis of its own. Difficult to get sun lounger by pool.
Actually (I think I had a mad moment) set my alarm to place towels on them at 5.15am ha ha. Later than 7am and you have had it. The kiddies pool was filthy. Food was the worst I've seen for all inclusive. Limited choices and I am not a fussy eater. One day they had minestrone soup at lunchtime and at dinner time they served burgers in a sauce which tasted suspiciously of minestrone soup! Once it's gone it's gone so best time to go for ur meals is when the dining room opens. It's difficult to get drinks due to a lack of waiting staff. The very limited bar closes at 11pm. U can't even buy after that or buy cocktails if you wanted. Entertainment is non existent. I'm not kidding. Never seen anything.

Now for the pros! Staff are all nice. You don't get pestered to join in with events or to get messages. Providing you get a sun lounger it's very pleasant as the music is kept quite low and it's kept clean. Such a great location. Handy for the beach and local shops. Just outside the hotel is the jetty for the boat taxi to marmaris. Never had any dodgy tummies etc.

Despite what looks like a bad review I would defiantly stay here again. We got a great deal.

The hotel is really well done out and is clean/well equipped. We had requested a 'quiet' room however were placed directly above the 'entertainment'. The hotel suffers from an 'identitiy crisis'. The entertainment programme is pretty dire so for the older group there is very little and yet there is nothing really directed towards couples or indeed children.
The pool is a good size and is kept spotless by a dedicated team of staff but again it is somewhat spoilt by the constant 'music' being pumped out.
The resort is really pretty and there are lots of places to eat and drink. The food is of a good standard and there is plenty of variety although it gets alittle bit repetative after one week
Its a resort we would return to but not a hotel as we would prefer somewhere quieter. Would definatly recommend trying the 'jeep safari' which is bookable out and about :)

Room Tip: if you want to lessen the boom boom boom of the entertainment try getting a room at the back of the...
