Our family arrived early hours approx 5am in June. Family with 4 adults and 4 children
Friendly Mohamed greeted us and checked us into our room 201 and 202 in C block.
When we arrived to our room it did not meet our expectations as there was not enough space to house our family. Each child needed their own beds and my 76yr old mother could not share therefore we went to reception and insisted we changed rooms to something more suitable.
Mohamed suggested we stay in the room then report to reception when the day staff arrived. After dispute at reception, the ladies on that day managed to get us a room change which to be fair ended up being much more suitable for our family group. We were placed in the two rooms just under the pool restaurant which was ideal.
Our family holiday began to get better. Our room opened up on to the pool area where the waterslides were located (opened 10-12 then 2-4pm). A Pleasant life guard to be fair watched and tried to control the waterslides to prevent anyone getting hurt ( personally I thought a younger life guard would be more suitable, might have been too stressful for a pensioner). Close to the bar and a few steps up to the dining area. Food choice up there limited however suited us for breakfast and lunch with snacks.
Breaksfast consisted of tea, coffee, orange, water fresh omlettes and fresh bread with honey or jam. A range of cereals, salads cocktail sausage, scrambled egg and boiled eggs. Great omlette chef and Deniz a very hard working chap who can speak chinese and do trick with a wine glass.
Lunch consisted of various things daily suitable for the kids like chicken nuggets, round donner type burgers with buns, salad, chips. Various sponge cake and biscuits at snack time. If you want more variety then a walk to block A main restaurant provided this.
We dined in the main restaurant in the evening which I'd say was quite small however if you got there for 7pm then there would be a table to seat 8 people. The food I'd say was varied every day and is buffet style. It is very healthy fresh food such as fish, chicken, kebabs, a range of different salad and dressings, lasagne, bolognaise, liver, chicken legs and drumsticks, chips, pasta, rice, sweetcorn, meatballs, aubergine dishes, stuffed chillies and peppers, a fresh pizza bread maker with something different every day. It was Turkish/oriental type food so expect it to be different from the UK but if you like healthy food then it is ideal. The dessert was limited with different types of fruit like watermelon, apples, plums, oranges, pears, different cakes, angel delight type desserts and differnt Turkish type Jelly. Drinks included coke, fanta , lemonade, local wines and spirits, also efes beer if you like a few pints. Entertainment at the restaurant good for the kids and adult entertainment like professional breakdancing seen.
The area of Icemeler was lovely with plenty of shops left, right and ahead of the hotel. The beach was a five minute walk ahead of hotel and turn left. Lovely walk around pier. If you buy a drink on the beach then sunbeds free. The beach is shingly but worth a walk. The Wednesday market is worth a look. About £5 for 8 of us on the Dolmus outside the hotel. For roughly the same price you could ride the Dolmus to Marmaris shopping centre too.
Its worth doing a Boat Trip which can be booked a few doors away from the hotel to your left. Speak to the owner called Silver (a very funny man who can give you a fantastic deal) We managed to book a boat trip on the Orkan (a lovely big clean boat, clean toilets and food), a spa day including turkish bath and massage. Thrown in was a moonlight boat trip all less than £120 for 8 people for the whole lot. You can't complain at that price.
Our airport transport back to the airport was messed up by the transport company and they arrived a day early. Due to us being out and not ready to leave early they were going to charge us full price to be taken to the airport on the correct day. Luckily enough, with perseverance and help with using the reception phone at the Mersoy hotel, it was once again finally rectified when I clearly told them they were wrong. Thank god we got to the airport on time.
Overall with mishaps with room and wrong pick up day we got over it. When we arrived home, the kids wished we were back there. We did have a good family time and much memories to remember. 4th time in Turkey, 1st time in Icemeler. We've had better accomodation in the past however you pay for what you get. A great value all inclusive family holiday to remember.
a big thankyou to all the hardworking staff at the Mersoy Exclusive Aqua resort who work almost 13-16hrs per day. We went in June which was a comfortable less busy time. I should imagine around July and August would be chaotic but see it as a place in the sun. Enjoy your holiday and make the most of it!! I hope my review helps.....

Where do i start.....
At the moment this hotel is getting a lot of mixed reviews,I will be as honest as i can from my own and familes point of view.
We arrived 2 hours late due to our flight being delayed so got to hotel about 05:30 so we were all really tired.Check-in took minutes and our bags plus us were taken up to block C a short distance from the main block A.
Our room was 303 which was a large one bedroom room, the fridge had bottles of water in it which was a nice touch after a long journey. The room was kept spotless and bedding and towels changed 13 out of the 14 days(everyone needs a day off). The room overlooked the water park and mountains which were stunning.
The water park was a bonus especially if you have kids like we have. The pool area was kept clean and tidy this was down to some hard working staff especially DENIZ who never stopped all day.The pool bar was open all day from 10:00-23:00 which was run by OKAN who always had a smile.
Now onto the food.We had breakfast every morning in block C,this was a typical breakfast for turkey but with the added bonus of fresh omelette's made in front of you, fresh fruit, boiled eggs even cereal for the kids. There was always something nice to eat at lunch and dinner from fresh made pizza's to fresh fish, salads and pasta.I know people have said it's repetative but over 2 weeks no hotel can serve different meals 3 times a day for that long.I agree that the seating area wasn't that large but never had a problem with tables.Towards the end of our stay extra tables were used for the evening meal.
All in all we had a top holiday if you want 5* then go out and pay 5* but if you want a good family holiday which is excellent value for money give this hotel a try and make your own mind up because before trip advisor thats what we all did.
Would i stay a this hotel again yes definitely.

Room Tip: Our room was 303 very good view and large space.

Have just read a bad review of this hotel for the same period we were there, July 2012, no-one broke any bones or arms and no lifeguards died?? Dont agree with anything on the review
Yes rooms were not Buckingham palace but clean sheets and towels every day and anything you asked for at reception. Great food and selection and all staff friendly.
No theft, infact didnt even hire a safe left everything lying in the room for full stay.
Great value for money. No not a 4 star as advertised but you are not in Britain you are in Turkey !
We are booking to go back next year !
Go and see for yourself.

Just back from 10 days here. Thoroughly enjoyed stay
Central location for shops and short walk to beach
Clean towels/linen daily
Bar staff very friendly especially Okan and Deniz
Food so,so but you can't always please everyone.
Great bar and staff on corner right next door to main Mersoy hotel if you fancy a drink/fun/snack especially after 11pm when all inclusive ends for the day
Would definitely go back

We have stayed in this hotel a number of times and have always found it to be pleasant and clean.
The best bit about the hotel was the Bistro out the front. Not only were the staff very friendly and welcoming but nothing was too much trouble! They made our holiday even better!! Hope to return to see them all again soon!!
