“Better than last year.”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Booked direct with Deniz the manager and got a better deal and much better service than I did last year with Thomas cook. We booked a family suite (two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area and a poolside balcony) and Deniz also arranged our direct transfers. We were met at dalaman airport by our taxi driver who drove us straight to Julian Forest only stopping to get us some water, this was much quicker than transfer with tour operator and meant on our return we only left hotel 3hours and 45mins before take off.
Reception staff were always excellent and before checking us in they urged us to go for dinner and get some drinks before dinner service finished. Check in was efficient, we got everything we were promised, family suite, free Wi-Fi, safe and late check out. All four us were given our own Wi-Fi codes and they were all 100% reliable.
Room was everything we wanted and included tea and coffee, water in fridge, hair dryers in bathrooms and good quality hair and body wash in the showers.
Restaurant staff were better organised than last year and food quality and choice were also improved, there are still wasps but there is a new eating area that is enclosed and has air conditioning. If eating outside ask for the burning Turkish coffee which keeps the wasps away.
Bar service was also improved and the ready made cocktails at dinner was a great idea, we even observed people being allowed to sample many local spirits to find the Turkish baileys, jaigermeister or schnapps.
Pool area was where we spent most days, club dance at 10:15, killer darts at 10:30 with Justin, water gym at 11:00 with Octay, water polo at 11:30 ritchie and finally a pool game at 12:00. Afterwards the YOLO team would have a break before starting with club dance at 14:15, French boules at 15:00 and finally killer pool at 16:00 with Amy. Each of the entertainment staff were great in there own way but Justin was the most popular.
Evening entertainment was the only let down Kids disco at 20:30 to 21:00 was great for families with young kids but the hour before bingo at 22:00 seemed hard to fill even though the entertainment team tried really hard.
Overall this is a great hotel for what you pay and if the management continue to highlight the areas for improvement and take action, it won't be long before it will be the number one hotel in Icmeler.

Room Tip: Our room was 1103 and was a family suite on the ground floor with a pool view and a balcony, however...

We booked direct with the hotel and even before our arrival they were polite and helpful with any queries. It also meant we benefited from free wifi, room safe and late checkout. As well as saving £100s. So well worth doing.

Our room had an amazing view and we couldn't fault it. The only problem we had was it wasn't cleaned very well and we had to chase up clean towels a couple of times. That said, I've seen other reviewers state how clean theirs was so it may have just been an oversight on behalf of our maid. Overall the hotel grounds were spotless!

There was always something to do entertainment wise. The day time included kids club, water polo, darts etc. The evening entertainment was usually a mini disco followed by 'show' and bingo and was finished between 10.30-11.

Now when I say a 'show', I'm not critising we definitely enjoyed it but was usually the entertainers bringing up members of the audience to take part in games etc rather than a performance. While this was fun, the hotel could definitely be improved in this aspect by bringing in some real acts.

Foodwise, there was always something for even the most fussiest of eaters and having stayed in a good few 4 & 5* all inclusive hotels, this was definitely one of the best for choice and standard. There was also carte a dor ice cream through out the day and pancakes available around 4ish. Oh and don't worry about the wasps, the burning coffee keeps them at bay, I don't know what the fuss is.

You could never go hungry here although I would definitely recommend a trip into icmeler itself as there are some amazing places to eat!

The drink was ok and it was local spirits unless you paid a supplement. These were hit and miss, so you just have to sample a few to find the good ones :) and they do have a cocktail menu too. I highly recommend the brandy Alexander for dessert!

Not to forget the entertainment team Richy, Amy, Oktay and Justin who all worked tirelessly to make sure everyone had as much fun possible (so long as they wanted to).

We very rarely go back to the same hotel, the world is too big for that. But given the opportunity and the right price would definitely return here and would recommend it in a second!

Beautiful hotel, great location, lovely food, clean rooms. Great group of people at the hotel.
Staff were excellent, entertainment staff brill, bar staff on the ball, cleaners, cooks the lot, just wonderful. Met some cracking folks their too, hopefully see them again on a return visit, which is a MUST!
Stayed for 2 weeks, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, in 1 bed with converted living area into 2nd bedroom, was more than ample. Air con spot on.
On site SPA (aka turkish bath) is defo worth the money. As said by Danny (hi) it's so much nicer having the space to yourself, and not being crammed in with lots of others.
Other trips a touch expensive in my opinion when booked with rep assigned to us (was not a package we booked, but still got a rep on day 1 - bit strange) and won't be booking any trips with them next time, will do it myself after looking around and pricing it up.
Location is fairly remote, but brilliant bus service 1 min walk away direct to main towns, so location no longer an issue, and with it being further back in the town it meant it was lovely and peaceful at night. No all night parties.
The facilities at the hotel are good, i.e. swimming pools, pool table, entertainment, but note for management is to not advertise other facilities (table tennis etc) when these activities are not available to guests.

Hotel is fairly remote and medium sized so wasn't overly cramped.Have to get up pre 8 for sun beds, thats the only issue really they could do with 50 more! The staff are probably the nicest people I've ever met, from managers to cleaners all smile and do so much they don't get paid to.Gary the turkish bath bloke is so helpful its untrue, he cant do enough for you, a star!I could name about 50 of them all brilliant. But the main 2 are Oktay and Justin, the entertainers, two really nice people who just made the holiday brilliant.the hotel manager should double their salaries.Hope we go back again.

My family and I had such a fantastic holiday. Returned home yesterday and wishing we were back there. Every member of staff always had a welcoming smile for you. The rooms were very spacious and kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Bed Linen and towels changed regularly. The food was excellent with lots of varieties to cater for everyone. Well done to the Chefs. The bar staff were very nice as well as the waiters and waitresses. The entertainment team were very good especially Justin who always took time to have a chat with you. The hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings. A mention must go to Nadia and Huseyin the reception staff who were lovely. Would definitely return to Julian Forest.

Just returned from our 1 week stay at the Julian Forest. It was the best hotel we have ever stayed. Food was fantastic, staff was very friendly and hard working. Everyone in the hotel did all the best he could to make the quests happy. We really liked the room. It was 3201. Very cozy, super clean, conditioners worked well so we were never hot, the room had a proper sound isolation, so we could sleep during the day or late night even there were some live events going on.
We really liked its location. Its away from noisy town in the surrounding of mountains. Beautiful! We wanted get away from the town and enjoy the nature and its peace. So we really did! It costs only 2 lira's to go to Icmeler or 2.5 liras to reach Marmaris. Buses are going there every 5 minutes, so it was not a bother. We would recommend this value resort to any couple or family!
