“It's what you make it”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

Just returned on the 19th of august after 2 weeks of staying at this hotel. I travelled here with my parents and 18 year old sister (i'm 15) and i have to say we had a good time but it is what you make it due to the fact that the rooms are cramped and the daily plan of activities is the same everyday. Robbie who works in the restaurant is always lovely and the food is nice at this hotel too. if you want to eat out of the complex its a 20 minute steady stroll in to the town which livens up after 8pm . Entertainment is in most restaurants and the stella drag show at harmony bar is very funny and a must see (60tl for dinner, drink and show). The entertainment team are there everyday and try really hard to make your holiday great fun if you want to join in and they don't hassel you to join if you say no! (join the darts due to the fact that nannie and sergio are seriously easy to beat just saying). The pool is clean and adequate. Sunbed situation was ridiculous as we witnessed people putting them down at 1:30am. Hotel need to enforce signs alot more. We stayed in room 622 which had a good view of the restaurant, pool and bar area but would benifit from having a larger table on balcony and smaller table in room. For a group of 4 ''adults'' i'd say that the sleeping arangements were not ideal as my parents slept?!? on the chair beds which not comfortable because my sister and i hogged the bedroom :) . Free air-con timings good for getting up and getting ready to go out. Don't try cooking in the mini kitchen! Cleaners tend to make rooms up and not clean. Overall the complex is fine and safe for families with younger children and we'd recommend it.

Thanks to Sue, Paul, Tom and Ollie for helping us enjoy our holiday. Apologizes for waffle as its my first review :)

Room Tip: All rooms are the same practically just avoid attic rooms

I've just got back from the aquarium after 10 nights . Overall clean apartments and staff really nice , but my room was really small pull out beds not adequate to small and uncomfortable and took up most of the room . Air con not great as only in the one room but did get quite cool but then again we had it on for about 10 hrs a day . Kitchen tiny so for those of you who want to cook not much room . As for the sunbeds was ridiculous there is a sign saying no reserving before 7.30 but this was happening at 2 in the morning . Management were quick enough to point out the sign that said only food from the bar area aloud around the pool which I find ridiculous as it's self catering . We ourselves ate a few times in the restaurant and food was nice and staff lovely especially Robbie . We also used the shuttle bus to the sister hotel which was really quiet and plenty of spare . For changing Money the supermarket next to tommy's bar had the best rate whilst we were there

We stayed for 2 weeks with 16 yr old son & 12 yr daughter, Generally everywhere very nice, but a tad dated & in need of a freshen up. The air con was useless, just not cold enough, Sally & all staff very friendly & helpful even though the air con couldn't be set to a lower temp. Sunbeds being reserved at "silly o'clock" (yes 3am) regardless of the 7.30 signs was a pain. The chair beds in living room not really adequate for our kids, my sons feet hung over the edge of the bed, proper beds needed for a real comfy sleep. But taking all into account, a homely/friendly hotel, well facilitated & we liked being in the Old Village rather than in the busy town

Just returned from a 11 night stay here with my wife and 14 year old son. Arrived at 0145 in morning to be greeted by Mr Ali who quickly and efficiently checked us in, explaining how the payment system/air conditioning/safety deposit box worked and then arranging for us to be shown to our apartment. First impressions of the apartment were not good but we were all too tired to make a fuss. On further inspection in the morning the apartment although dated was adequate for our needs. As many other reviewers have commented they do however need to do something about the pull out beds in the lounge area. They are far from comfortable and although our son managed to sleep on them, they were far from ideal. Other reviewers have mentioned lack of sun beds, we did not have any problems getting one after going down at about 0900 everyday but we were not bothered about getting a prime position around the pool as presume some other reviewers were after. Had a Turkish bath on first day and although at first I thought cost was a bit high, my wife informed me afterwards that it was good value compared with how much it would have been back at local spas at home. What food we had at the hotel was good value and of a good standard and we always had good service from the restaurant and bar staff. Evening entertainment was a bit dated but not in your face as it sometimes is at other hotels. For us one of the big draws of the Grand Aquarium is the location. We did not Mind at all the 10/15 minute walk into Icmeler on an evening as been this distance out meant it was a lot more peaceful than in the centre and allowed us to take in the breathtaking backdrop of the mountains from our sun bed everyday, much better than the concrete wall of another hotel. We would definately consider using this hotel again for any further visits to Turkey.

Just back from 2 weeks at Grand Aquarium with my wife and 15 year old son and must say it was very nice! Only 2 gripes really:-

1. The air con in the room was rubbish and despite calling out technical services several times it never really got cold.
2. Not that it mattered a huge amount to me but the sad people who feel they have to get up at 3am or 4am to reserve sunbeds - the hotel staff should remove them - this ridiculous behaviour would soon stop!! (and they say the Germans are bad!!!)

The staff were very good, very friendly and always try to get you involved. The food in the restaurant was excellent (even though we ate out in the evenings, we had lunch and breakfast a few times). The pool is a nice size and big enough that kids of all ages could play in it without too much overcrowding. The room we had was a decent size but as I've said, the air con wasn't up to scratch. Worth a mention that we asked for a single bed for our son instead of the sofa bed and we were given one without any fuss which was good.

Location wise it was nice to be set back away from the hustle and bustle and there were some really nice restaurants within a 10-15 minute stroll in the evening, favourites being Sidiks, Hanadan, Love Boat and Wayside.

We booked a Turkish bath, jeep safari and waterpark at one of the agencies near the restaurants and all were good - the Turkish bath in particular was a bargain at only £4 each - in a clean hotel just down the road.

The beach was a bit of a trek (20 mins or so) and was so hot that we didn't really bother walking down to use it though there are plenty of taxis and buses available.

Overall, it was a good holiday but we'll probably head back to the Greek islands next year. If you are heading for Turkey though, well worth a visit to Grand Aquarium!!

Room Tip: We had room 632 which had a nice view over the pool but poor air con!!

Been to this Hotel for the second year in a row. Still fantastic. Only downside is the size of the sofa beds in the rooms, not suitable for adults. Staff all friendly and helpful, enthusiastic but not overbearing.

First time here with my boyfriend and family, 2 adult lads 20 yrs and my 10 yr old daughter. Arrived 4th Aug for 11 nights. Loved the apartment and pool view plus high hillside in background. Arrived early in morning and went for sunbeds at 8a.m but all nearly taken and to my astonishment l found out sunbeds were taken by 4a.m..even though a signs says wait till 7.30a.m. No chance unless we got up early. The entertainment was very samey. Darts early, slide on 30minutes in morning then again in afternoon. Pool football followed by killer pool. This was same everyday. We used lilos for entertainment. My son and friends dived over them and into rings.Food is top notch in hotel as are the waiters. Drinks expensive esp pop. My daughter and son made lots of friends no problem as lots of families here. l felt very relaxed to let my girl play inside by restaurant where big consoles are and pool table is. Rooms are ok but very clean and tidy. clean towels and bedding every day. Sunbeds at 4 in morning is a big let down. Air con is a must.

Room Tip: 422 very central to pool there in a minute from room.
