“Unique experience! Nicky & Levi from Sydney”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

An unforgettable experience, with a unique crafty atmosphere. The service and food was fantastic and we were greeted with very warm and welcoming owners. My husband and I felt we were in a movie set! A not to be missed attraction for anyone visiting Marmaris/Icmeler!

“No connection between price and value.”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

While the restaurant has a charismatic owner and a beautiful decor, the place fails to create a worthwhile connection between the overall experience and the price.
We came to the restaurant on our 5th day in the area after it hsbng been recommended over and over by our guides, and were surprised to see that compared to other restaurants in the area the prices were on average 75% - 125% higher!

For 264€ for 6 adults + 2 children we had one large starter to share, incl. 6 plates of average garlic bread that we didn't ask for and thus took as complimentary, and a main course per adult and a soup per child. The main courses were on the low/average level, where e.g. my lamb dish was cooked with canned mushrooms (as I also see mentioned in another review here) and didn't even include the ingredients the owner described it with when telling what the dish included. My partner had a sea bream for 20€ that we had a few days earlier in another restaurant in the area for 11€! We thus expected a difference in quality, but the fish was strikingly similar. On top of all this it was obvious that the owner, in between telling stories about his own life, focused on "selling up" and among others insisted on that we should try their chocolate mousse which was "world famous". We did order it and received a frozen (!) piece of chocolate thing with synthetic chocolate sauce over it. 8€.
After an overall flat experience where the ambiance stayed beautiful, but the owners's self-praise looked more and more empty, we got the bill where it turned out that we were charged 18€ for the garlic bread served to the starter without our ordering it. On the bill was also 5€ for a Nescafé (1€ average in the area) and 4€ euro for a Lipton tea (where tea is often served for free in the area after the meal).
First and last time in Mona Titti. If you want to go to see the decor, go there for a drink or a coffee, but I would suggest to eat elsewhere anytime.
