Having struggled to find a package holiday offering a good location and quality accommodation within our budget, we started to explore the option of a villa with other family members (7 of us in total)
We found Emerald Villa and Teresa (the owner) was very helpful, answering all the questions of a villa, and Turkey, first timer.
When we arrived at the villa in the dark up a bumpy track we were a little unsure about the location. Hisaranu looked a long way away, however, the next evening we walked down the hill and it only took about 15 minutes. The walk back is uphill most of the way, but a good way to walk off all the great, and very cheap food on offer. £10 per head with drinks was about average. Shine Indian was our favourite.
The villa itself was superb. It was luxurious, spacious and very clean, with great views. The thing we liked the most was the space & layout. With 3 bedrooms on the 1st floor & 2 in the basement, early risers did not disturb those wanting to sleep in. The water cooler in the kitchen was great. We chose to eat out, but the kitchen facilities were very good. The pool was very clean and never too busy. We preferred this to the larger, busier pool at Orka hotel.
If you did not want to walk, transport in the area was great. There are loads of taxis and a very regular bus service in the area which runs from the main road (10 minutes from the villa). We used the bus to get to Oludenez (£1 each way) and got off at Orka hotel and used the free transfer back to the villa.
I would recommend paragliding. The views are great and it is not as scary as the drive up the mountain.
In summary, we loved Turkey & Emerald Villa and would definitely recommend it.
