“Amazing Hotel”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 via mobile

Just returned from the Aes hotel and I can truly say it's amazing, so clean an tidy.
The food is to excellent standards and nothing is to much trouble whatever you ask for you get, they go above and beyond.
Aysegul the general manager is so lovely and helpful she knows her job and is so knowledgable she is a true asset to the hotel if you have any problems go and see her and she will sort for you.
I would return again and again if I could. Thank you to you all at Aes Club a Hotel.

I'll try to keep this brief!
Two adults two children put in an attic room (which was nice), but it had no balcony....our reservation specifically states a balcony.
The rooms were cleaned to a good standard and the fridge was replenished daily with water. The cleaning went as far to be a complete hotel decontamination....of which all guests were notified of this "regular precaution", but somehow fuels my suspicion that something wasn't quite right as my husband and I were very ill for the last 3 days of our holiday....and are consequently awaiting test results to find out what is the matter.
The range of food was very good for each meal.
The pool appeared to be regularly checked for cleanliness.
The restaurant staff were polite as were the bar staff.
The cleanliness of cups/glasses at the bar could have been better as they were quickly rinsed and not washed.
Now...here we go....the entertainment (brace yourself). The (lack of) entertainment team was called the Animation Team. Now unwitting customers think that this involves something happening. The Mini Club was NEVER open in the two week half term, peak season period. The head of the Animation Team instead chose to kick back, play darts once a day and have a cigarette by the pool.
One day there was a surf game in the pool....I would like to congratulate the GUESTS who arranged this in complete desperation to break the boredom.
The Animation Team used the same music by the pool on a daily basis. If I hear Unchained Melody or Rock Around the Clock one more time then I might section myself for my own safety. In fact I think this tactic could be used to crack suspected terrorists.
The evening entertainment was woefully inadequate. One evening this consisted of a Comedy Night where two of the Animation Team dressed as babies in nappies...this was cringeworthy, but them at their best!
The Mini Disco happened infrequently. It would be advertised for the evening, but then never occur??? When the Mini Disco was on, the songs were the same 4 each night...my two children refused to dance in the end.
We did have a coup when we won at bingo! We won a cd of all the songs played by the pool (god forbid). Upon our return to the UK my husband thought he'd annoy us an play the cd as a joke....the cd was blank! This sums up the entertainment very well....missing!
The external entertainment brought in some evenings was very good.
It is a pity that this hotel is viewed as it is. There are many good qualities. It ticks the box of a 4 star hotel, but performs at times like a 2 star.

As a repeat client I was extremely unhappy with the service given during
my recent 10 days at this hotel.Standards had deteriorated, food was not as good as last year and the staff were not as joviable and although not generally unpolite the bar staff in particular were untrained and could hardly provide anyone with a full glass.
The animation staff last year were brillint, organising water sports table tennis pool and darts. This years replacement team were the worst I have ever experienced. They sat around most of the day as if on holiday and managed only the odd party game and occasional killer dart game.
From our arrival at 3amm the prblems started , no bedding , no cot for our 14month old grand daughter and in one of our rooms only one double bed for a family of four.
the block allocated had no lift and the rooms were above the restaurant. Four flights of stairs to negotiate with two buggies is not easy. Management were not very helpful but eventually moved us to more convenient rooms after 5 days.
I would avoid this hotel at all cost, Thomson are apparantly going to have exclusivity next year, best of luck I ll not be going back.

This was our 7th time at the Aes, staying from 6th May till 4th June, still the same great value. In an accessible area.

Booked early but on arrival did not get the room in the Leton Block that we requested, however we got next door with the promise that we could change rooms 3 days later; we didn't bother the only difference was one had single beds ours had a double. More to the point the extra pillows and duvet we asked for at booking we waiting in the room. The management and reception staff bent over backwards to help. Though we felt sorry for them by the aggression and demeaning way some guests spoke AT them.
Room was a bit tired but (and kept) clean, and beds made every day.

Food was good lovely cheese omelettes oozing with melted cheese made by Ahmet, Saban, Osamn, Okan and the other cooks, with the cheese pide made on request its a wonder we weren't cheese bound! !
Having spoken with Aysegul and Feridun (management) found that they pride themselves in their efforts to get the best variety of food, very little chicken but a greater choice including trout, sea bream grey mullet, sardines to name a few, and drink. Both were very nice and helpful and sorted various of our requests out quickly.
Efes Turkish lager (or beer to the barstaff) is one the best far better than Perge or Tuborg etc
but it is dearer.
Aided by their Chef's and both kitchen and table staff all was served well and with the cheeriest friendly atmosphere, all would do their best to please.
The night they had fish soup on the Lady Chef (Kada?) heard me say I didn't like it and there and then went and made some cream of veg for us, you ask and they would do their best to help.

Niggles and irritations:
some of the guests behaviour was less than desirable , eg dropping cigarette butts, packets and wrappings around the pool instead of in the waste bins provided, worse still excessive waste of food and cakes, ( some piled their plates high had a few mouthfuls and left the rest), and gallons of beer left half drunk etc. Considering that you can go back and get whatever food you want as many times as you need till your full, I cannot understand it, all that waste just put the prices up! ! !.
the pool still has the tendency to flood the left side, no problem IF you remember to keep your bags and clothes off the floor

Whilst we can only recommend the professional shows the Aes has been badly let down on the animation side, I was appalled to see the so called entertainment manage arrive half way through the live guitarist's show only to walk out to the middle of the stage in front of all the guests watching the show and insist on shaking hands with the artist, If Sophie wasn't there to save things he would not do the mini disco for the kids and had NO ambience with the guests.

There was that much disappointment with him, Sophie would not work with him, thankfully she still did her great liason and trouble shooting job.
Come back Cihan all is forgiven!

All in all for the cost great value, far better then a lot of nearby Hotels.
Bad news it seems Thomson have taken the Hotel for 2015, perhaps regulars should email the Aes for info and express their views direct on this latter.
If you want nice meal out try Nazar's just up the road toward Hisoranu, or the Butterfly restraint up the stairs near the Talk of the Town, and has a surprising vista from its first floor location.

Will we return, if we can most certainly, as the locals would say "Inshallah"
Christine & Philip W.

Room Tip: The garden views are quieter.

my partner and I stayed at this hotel for a week. we were meeting our six friends who had arrived a week earlier. we were first taken to our room which was very modern, clean nice and modern bathroom great as well.
The food was great something for everyone even my partner who can be really fussy. freshly cooked chicken or fish in the nights the best was the gentleman who cooked the Turkish bread what ever topping you wanted he would cook and also cooked fresh pasta. breakfast was the same every day but good.
the entertainment from outside was excellent especially the Mongolian acrobats, and also the Russian modern dancers. the entertainment staff tried very hard, the kids loved the entertainment but the adults not so much, but the two guys and the English girl are some of the nicest people you can meet, but their shows were not as good as the outside entertainment.
the management was always there watching and if things were not up to scratch they would be straight on it. the concierge was lovely he had to let my and my friends partners in the rooms a few time as there was only one key for the room so if I went to bed early he would be locked out as you needed the key for the electric in the rooms. HOTEL NEEDS TO GIVE TWO KEYS that was the only issue that we had.
we also went for a stroll to Hisaronu which took about 10-15 minutes, town very nice lots of shops and bars if you fancy a night out of the hotel. all round this was a great holiday for what we paid and would stay here again.

AES CLUB HOTEL is 10 min walk down a little road into centre of hisaronu or 10TL for a taxi,
Hotel was spotless every day cleaners were scrubbing the hotel couldn't fault the cleanliness of rooms & the canteen area, though downside tho the glasses, cups & plastic beakers weren't washed properly so you could still see lipstick marks :(

Food was ok not much of a selection so me & my partner ate out most nights as the restaurants in hisaronu were reasonable especially the ENGLISH RESTAURANT BILLY IS SO FRIENDLY & WELCOMING & R.E.D RESTAURANT LOVELY TOO.
Alcohol was very limited local spirits only, they have a bar menu telling you what's included in all inclusive, I asked for a peach snaps local drink in menu it said included but the staff were saying in it's not.

The safe & air con were all free of charge
Even beach towels were free everyday with you're towel card
Turkish baths & massage ain't included in all inclusive but if you barter you get a good price it was so relaxing.

Me & my partner really enjoyed ourselfs at the Aes club hotel only downfall was I found some of the staff were rude & not very helpful one of the lads always had his hand out expecting a tip if he carried you're bags.
there's a girl from the uk that works there called Sophie & she was really nice friendly & helpful.
IF YOU WANT A SUN LOUNGER AROUND THE POOL MAKESURE YOURE UP FOR 6am as they all get taken up people throw there towels on the beds but don't even use them which is frustrating, the hotel does a free shuttle bus down to the blue lagoon Billy's beach it's a must, when it's cloudy & dull up at the hotel it's boiling down the lagoon.

A few days before we were due to check out we asked could we keep the room the young man said yea £30 untill 6pm on Saturday 7th June, day comes they made out we didn't even ask. To keep the room & that we couldn't have it, this really annoyed me & my partner.

Room Tip: I've been in a attic room for a look & they were nothing to worry about just a tiny balcony...

This could be a long one. Went to this hotel may last year and it was brilliant couldn't wait to go back. It was my husbands 50 in May so contacted the hotel and asked for the same room as we had last year and a cake etc after two phone calls to Turkey and various emails thought it was all sorted. On arrival however we where shown to an Attic room which wasn't what we paid for! After much complaining - no birthday surprise - 3 rooms later we finally settled for room 4106 which is ground floor overlooking a small garden. As soon as we opened the patio doors in the morning quickly came to realise we were right by the cesspit and the whole area smelt of raw sewage. When we and others mentioned this to hotel we were told it's GAS!!! Next day manhole cover was raised and we had to look at and smell human waste for days!!!!!! The food is very good although very similar chicken or Turkey in various guises and not hot enough.the waiting staff very scruffy this year and rarely offered water or wine without us requesting. The general cleanliness of the whole hotel is very poor compared to last year. Not enough staff so cups and plates left out by pool overnight. Tables and sunbeds not wiped down ashtrays still full. Animation consists of two people which are grown men dressed as butterflies and ladybirds running round getting you to try and grab a stick when they drop it and throw ping pong ball's into cups!!!! No water polo volley ball or pool games at all. Evening entertainment that was agency booked was excellent but again evening entertainment by animation two extremely bad and embarrassing to watch. We have no children but kids club was stopped whilst we were there and parents were not happy. Sophie who is English is a godsend to the people and place but feel she is banging her head against a brick wall when management seem to no longer care about the place. Loud music all day long again courtesy of animation!!! Every time they were asked to turn it down only lasted a few minutes and then up it would go again!!!! We also found out that this is going to be 95% Thomsons next year so don't know what it will be like then. Bar staff disinterested and constantly serve the wrong drink and glasses are not always clean properly. Overall for a 4* hotel standards have dropped massively and from the many returning guests we spoke to most will not return which is a shame as it is a lovely well positioned hotel that just needs management to step up!! Pool table broken cues _ poor condition remained uncleaned for the duration of our stay!! Same goes for table tennis tables and bats need replacing. SAD.
