We read a fair few reviews before deciding on staying here and were pleasantly surprised with our stay considering the amount of bad reviews. Although it did not start amazingly with our flight being delayed and not arriving at the hotel until around 3am. Two members of staff were there to welcome us and the one behind the desk was very friendly, welcoming and spoke very good English. The other kind of appeared out the shadows, grabbed my arm and placed the band on my wrist which took me by surprise. He then took our cases and showed us to our room. Like another reviewer said he just hung around at the door expecting a tip. We literally had nothing smaller than 20 lira so had to give that, to then not even be acknowledged by him for the rest of our holiday!!
On waking up we were very impressed with the hotel, the food was amazing although towards the end of the holiday we felt it was getting a bit samey but still delicious. Again like another reviewer has said I came down with a horrendous tummy bug whether from the food of uncleaniness, which dampened our last few days.
The bar staff were very friendly, although did choose Turkish guests over others so much so after waiting for 10 minutes with Turkish people jumping in I gave up waiting for a drink and went and helped myself to some water!
The room cleaners were lovely, always there with a smile and enjoyed having small talk in English. Our room was cleaned very well and fresh towels and linen on regular basis.
We were very disappointed by the entertainment, during the day around the pool there seemed to be a fair bit of entertainment which was enjoyable by all. I felt unless you put yourself forward for something and made yourself known you were not spoken to by the entertainment staff. The evening entertainment was pretty much non existent! Most nights we sat down stairs for so long that we became bored of waiting for the entertainment, so much that we went out or went to play cards on our balcony. The evening entertainment needs vast improvements and to actually start when they say it will.
On the whole we really enjoyed our holiday and had a pleasant stay at the hotel although would not choose to go back again. For one holiday it was pleasant but not amazing enough to go back again.
