“Fantastic holiday”
Reviewed 19 July 2012

Just returned from a 10 night stay with my family. Hotel's position is perfect to explore the beautiful local area with popular tourist areas of Oludinez and Fethiye. Walking distance of Hisaronu. Family run, the hotel is in a quiet location, very clean and serves amazing food (beware the portion sizes are huge!). The beds were extremely comfortable, all rooms having Air Con and TV - not that we even turned our TV on ! Shops and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk. Owners speak extremely good English. Several trips out and about were arranged for my family. Recommend the variety of boat trips available and a visit to the mud baths. We are hoping to return next year.

We have just spent a week at the Tunacan Hotel and it turned out to be everything we had hoped for. It was such a lovely relaxing break in the sun and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay there. So much that we plan to return again as soon as possible. The hotel consists of 29 rooms and the accomodation is very clean and comfortable with Air conditioning and T.V's and regularly cleaned with fresh towels provided on a daily basis. The pool is a good size and there are plenty of sunloungers and parasols available. This is a family run hotel and the hosts Ali & Turkan and their family,Fethiye, Osman, Ozzy, Sonny Mikey and of course the lovely Sophie cannot do enough for their guests and are always willing to help in any they can. We stayed here on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast is a traditional turkish breakfast and they also have a breakfast lunch and evening meal menu available all at very reasonable prices. The hotel is situated near the Bagadad Mountains and is a very short distance from the main road through Ovacik, and within easy walking distance of Hisaronu and the local dolmus bus service to Fethiye and Olu Deniz. We felt so at home staying at the Tunacan and got to know all the family very well and have come away feeling we have made some very good friends who I might say work very hard at the various tasks required to keep the Hotel running smoothly. There are no language barriers with Ali and Turkan as they speak very good english. They will also arrange trips to beaches and various other things from the Hotel such as a Turkish Bath which Ali arranged for us and I can throughly reccomend you try it! If you want a great relaxing break in a clean comfortable hotel with lovely people in the Turkish sunshine Ali and his family will certainly provide you with this.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool and garden great views to mountains and pool area

We have just returned from the Tunacan and had a wondeful time despite a couple of rainy days. Ali and his wife Turkan despite putting the finishing touches to their hotel made our stay very enjoyable. We were the only guests, the hotel very kindly accomodated us as our original booked accommadation was still closed. (We were advised of this at the airport on our way out).
We would definately book this again for next year.
We were shown the re-furbished rooms and I must say how well they looked with new tiles and fresh paintwork. Each room had a balcony. The older part of the hotel overlooked the pool area and bar and up 'til 12 at night I think may be a tad noisy. I understand from Ali that the music or his new t.v. 5 satellite system!! will be reduced in volume. We will be selecting the newer part of the hotel. This area overlooks the vegetable garden along with his 2 ducks with views to the mountain.
We paid, for mid May, £10 each for bed and breakfast per night. The bar prices were cheaper than the local bars and resturants and although at this time he wasn't catering during the day his Chef was due to arrive and a full day/evening menu will be available including a Turkish menu.
He will accept direct bookings via the hotels web site and should you wish to speak via telephone he is a master of the English language.
We have no relation to this hotel and think ourselves lucky that we fell on this accommodation.
There is plenty more I could say but this but I suggest you try it for yourselves.

Sandy and John.

Room Tip: Rooms in the new part are quieter. There also a few family rooms
